I have used the drive-thru at this McD for literally years...may nevrr again after this visit. Simply wanted a Diet Coke. The young person taking my order says: "just warning you - they are switching over the tanks...it may take longer than expected." OK. Nice if her to tell me at least. Pay my $1.10. Cashier apologies in a "high school girl tone" - oh my God we are so short handed. Everybody called off because of Easter...I dont know if your drink will - be ready...maybe you will have to park. I finally pull up to pickup window...no park...they don't have any sodas... UN FRICKING BELIEVABLE!! If the Manager cannot switch tanks in 20 min + time, that person is simply in the wrong employment position. McD's...soda...you don't have time to switch a syrup tank??????? I go to McDonald's rarely, but thought I'd try that $5 special they are offering. It's actually $6 (plus tax) at the La Verne location. I asked for the burger and iced tea for the drink. I had a difficult time understanding the person taking the order, but it was clear she got my request for iced tea, as I was asked, 'sweet or unsweetened?'. I paid at the first window and drove to the second window. All went well, or so I thought. Then the second window guy was asking me to wait, and tried to give me some sort of frosty dessert, which I hadn't ordered. So confusing, and also confusing and dicey for the car behind me when I backed up a little to reach for it. I just told him I hadn't ordered that and drove on. When I got home, there was no sweet and sour sauce for the nuggets, nor was there any ketchup (both of which I had requested when ordering). Also, no iced tea, but some sort of carbonated cola drink, which I didn't drink, as I had no idea what it actually might be. It was a weird experience and hardly worth the special price. This location is an exciting adventure in fast food. You drive up to the drive though that splits into two ordering stations, and you think, "I wonder how they know who gets what order." The answer? If the food doesn't give you high blood pressure and/or make you feel nauseated, the inevitable interaction with brain-dead employees will. Those are about the only things that you're guaranteed to get (other than an incorrect order) if you visit this particular McDonald's. Placed a mobile order here last week and picked it up from one of the mobile order stalls. Upon checking the order, a medium french fry was missing which was absolutely shocking because it's usually multiple items that are missing and/or incorrect. Since I had a toddler in the car, I didn't want to unbuckle them from the car seat to go inside so I went through the drive-through to have them fix the issue. Me: "Hi, I just picked up a mobile order and it's missing a medium french fry." Employee: "Just a medium french fry. Your total is $3.xx" Me: "No, I'm not ordering a medium french fry. My mobile order is missing a medium french fry." Employee: "Right. A medium french fry. Your total is $3.xx at the next window." Me: "The mobile order that I just picked up is missing a medium french fry. I'm not paying you for something that I'm owed." Employee: "Just a second... OK so you want to order a medium french fry?" The idiot at the payment window was clueless about the situation so I bypassed him and went to the pickup window where I was greeted by the knuckle dragger I attempted to communicate with at the drive-through speaker. I got to say this is one of the most efficient McDonalds I have ever been too and that's saying a lot been to a bunch all over the state. How could I miss this place with the huge golden arches on the exterior?. I don't know what it is about this location but the service and food are exceptional. Maybe the location -Historic Route 66? The layout inside is roomy, spotless clean and I love the free WI fi. Inside there is a jukebox and a dinning area table shaped like a classic car! After a workout at the gym. I mistakenly ordered the sausage McGriddle combo. Instead of returning it I took one bite and was surprised how yummy it was. I would have never imagined how yummy a combo of sausage, egg, cheese inside of two sweet maple kissed pancuits would taste! The hash brown yummy of course BC it's deep fried. My review is for the drive thru. I'm not sure what's going on with the management lately but the drive thru is a mess. I understand that they want to move the line along by having us wait in the front but the structure is pretty bad. It's kind of pointless when the person bringing out the food does not know what car to go to and has to walk around asking people. People go to the drive thru for a reason...and that's to get your food faster without getting out of your car. This might work when they are not busy but when it gets busy.. they probably need to think of a new system. I went on Saturday during lunch and the drive thru went pretty fast but as usual I had to go wait in the front for my order. There was like 15 cars just parked in the front and behind each other. I Waited for another 15 mins with kids in the car asking a million questions. One happy meal was missing fries and I was not going to take all the kids out to go inside to get the missing fries. Last time they forgot to put a toy in one of the happy meals. Let's get it together management. read more

I finally made my way into the newly remodeled and refurbished La Verne McDonalds; I found it to be very nice in general appearance and overall user friendliness. It is NOT dark inside; the lighting is more than adequate and placed so that no one is "unlit". There is still a children's area, albeit the play area is somewhat smaller but still a bunch 'o fun for the youngsters. All this being said, I can see why it would appeal to the millenials. The look is modern and sleek. I felt no discomfort inside and the ambient noise is actually very subdued at 7:45 AM with about 10-15 patrons. read more

Today I visited the McDonald's on Benson and Foothill. Placed my ordered for a cheeseburger and a drink. I had a request can they please serve serve the cheeseburger with warm or melted cheese. Currently sitting in my car parked in front of McDonald's. I went through drive thru as I have small children in vehicle. They have you pay and get drink then they have you drive to the front of the restaurant after you just went thru drive thru. I guess they are trying to make it appear they are serving their customers quickly when in fact it's been over 10 minutes and I still have no food and now need to go inside store for a refund. This McDonald's is ridiculous. They tried to get us to pay twice and more than what we owed. We ordered two drinks and one sandwich. My husband paid at the first window and when we got to the second window they start to have our drinks but tell us we never paid. My husband tells them he paid at the first window and even shows them the last transaction that was clearly approved. (Which is where he realizes he was over charged to start off with). They continue to argue and fight with him insisting he pay again until we just leave. Do not recommend this McDonald's at all.
