I don't know if these policies are McDonalds wide or just in this McDonalds location. These guys are so damn stingy. I went in there today 4/6/2016 and there was no napkins in sight. I ordered something that people obviously want salt and Ketchup on. I GOT "NOTHING". No salt, No Ketchup, No napkin. Even a small mom and pop diner has these things within sight. Do they really think people should have to go to the counter and beg for all these condiments??? This is why I rarely go to McDonald's anymore. The food is average AT BEST and they make you beg for all this stuff. Hey don't do me any big favors. I have it a 2 because the manager is actually polite. But, as usual, you can't get a hello back from anyone else. Oh, but fast food restaurant employees want to make $15 an hour? Haha! The fun thing to do is to say hello, ask how their day is, and wait for a drugged out, mumbled noise. Not a reply, just a noise. Like a grunt. Then watch as they crack up with their countrymen. Wow. They got my order wrong, I went back in to try and get it remade which took a long time to explain that the order was wrong at which the employee seemed pissed. Upon remaking part of my order, it was STILL wrong but I could tell they didn't want us still in there so we left and took the wrong order. :( read more

Is this a trade with McD? The service is horrible. We ordered 1 4 piece kids meal , 1 6piece kids meal and a signature chicken sandwich. The sandwich took 10 minutes to prepare. And there is a huge hold up in sending out meals. A pile of sandwiches waiting to be packed. While the manager looks like he doesn't know what to do and start helping at the register. The grilled chicken was surprisingly juicy though. Maybe not enough people order grill Chicken and it has to be made fresh, that's why it took so long? read more

According to Fast Food Nation they cut so much of the cow apart and so fast that the some of the digestive track usually gets cut up in the meet in fast food places especially like McDonalds, so they have to put things in it to sterilize it. So the next time your sitting down eating your Big Mac and you say to yourself, "Hey what is that special ingredient that makes it so good?" you know now.... its crap and fantastic. Good news about the fries too, they actually dehydrate them and add fat to them to make them taste so good, then they cook them once in oil and freeze them, then they cook em again right before you eat em just to make sure they are the most unhealthy things you could ever put in your body. read more

Rude, slow, no drive through ... Go elsewhere. I was there at 10:15 am when it was quiet. I ordered a mc muffin and iced decaf coffee. I told the girl making the coffee to please make sure it was decaf. She barked at me and told me that's not what the order said! ( which is why I always politely tell them again I need decaf). She abruptly walked over to one of the managers, had a word with her, then the manager thanked her profusely for making another coffee since she had already made a regular one. There were at least 3 management people in earshot at the time. Seriously?! To top it off, she plunked it down on the counter and said you're welcome to me under her breath as she walked away before I could say anything. Grow up! Your customer didn't key in her order wrong your manager did ! There are plenty of other choices in this area that I will select in the future. read more

No drive thru. I rarely, rarely go here because they have no drive thru service. I would rather poke myself in the eye (with an extra straw that no doubt I was charged extra for) than spend extra time going inside especially when in a hurry. Until they get a drive thru I don't think I will be returning. Don't they know that is seriously detrimental to their financial situation? C'mon Newton, get with the times. The workers here are exceptionally nice and understanding. With the panels to order your food it can be all individualized which is really nice. Given all that the workers are stretched thin, rarely make a mistake and are really nice when you point it out. I work as a graduate student and at a nearby store on the night shift. I have spent a lot of time at this McDonald's getting food, coffee or what have you. I have seen them give great service and deal with jerk customers. read more

This place is a zoo. Understaffed like you wouldn't believe. Came here around midnight they wouldn't take my order they were too busy so I had to use the self order station. There was no receipt paper so no one new there new their order number. Then they say there outta fries. Good luck with this friggin debacle. read more

As far as McDonalds goes this is one of the better ones. Lots of comfortable seating and parking. Food is about the same as other McDonalds and is prepared promptly. Though I wish they would finally put a drive-tru in. read more

the attendants are bad. they get my order wrong all the time. so i always check it before i leave. the fries are bitter because the frying oil isnt changed often. the hamburgers are the worst of any burger joint, period. McDonald's burgers are not as good tasting as they were years ago. read more

Someone below said they DO have a drive thru...they DO NOT I worked there in high school...no drive thru because the city of Newton would not allow for a second curb cut onto Needham st. They are currently closed for construction and I am guessing they will be getting a drive thru but doesn't look like much is happening yet. The reason I even gave them two stars is because the kids at the counter are generally very nice and friendly. The reason I won't give them even one more is because the management just does not care. They are often out of basic menu items and they almost never have their shake/ice cream machine working. If you go there anytime after the lunch or dinner rush prepare for a rubber burger from a warming tray. We didn't use those when I worked for the company, nor did we have even one microwave, but the operations policies aren't really something that will change. I worked for McDonald's for several years, both in high school and then as a swing manager before I went to college. I worked at this location and another one and I went through the management program (B.O.C...I think. It's been a while). People go to McDonald's be cause they are relatively cheap, fast and consistant. The only thing consistant in this location is you will be consistantly let down. read more

I know it's just McDonald's but I feel like there has to be some kind of standard of decent quality. Dealt with the rudest employee ever here. Asked how she was doing and she mumbled a "good." I'm trying to order and mid sentence, she just walks away from me to talk to another employee and show her something on her phone. Okay?? Then while I was waiting for my order, another customer asked her for the time and she screamed it at him and rolled her eyes when she had to repeat because she was mumbling and the customer couldn't hear her. Again, I know it's just McDonald's. But maybe avoid screaming at your customers and try to let them get through their entire orders before you walk off to talk to your friends. read more

I honestly do not know what these people are speaking off. Really, I find it quite offensive. I heart times a thousand McDonald's regardless of the service for I find it a symbol of America. Also the french fries are awesome when you are drunk. They have saved me from many hungover mornings. This place is the worst McDonalds I've been to, even though the place looks spanking new. The 1st time I went was a few years ago. The fries I ordered were not cooked through (i.e. cold on the inside, warm, not hot, on the outside.). I would go back from time to time ONLY because it is nearby. This is the new, "improved" version of the old McDonalds - it was rebuilt and looks beautiful and classy on the inside. But it's all downhill from there. I have been in multiple times on my way to and from work and cashiers are often clueless. People who seem to be in charge are rude and they're yelling at other workers while customers can see. It's frantic and very slow service, I do understand they've only been open a short time but if they were not prepared to deliver products at an above-zero quality level, they should've taken more time.
