This McDonald's is horrible. I know its fast food, but your employees don't need to have an attitude all the time. I was in line at the drive thru for over 15 mins only to get to the speaker to order to be told they were only accepting cash. They could have had someone out side notifying people getting into line, so that they could go inside but unfortunately that would be too much work for them. I then having my heart set on McDonalds for breakfast and not wanting to go to work with no food, order my food to curbside through the app since I had my baby with me and did not want to drag him out of the car to get back in. I then have a girl come out to my car to tell be that the smoothie machine was being cleaned, DURING BREAKFAST RUSH HOUR. She asked if I wanted to switch it with anything else, but being as there is nothing else comparable to switch with i said no. Thinking she would just take it off and bring me my food. Well then the manager comes out, this blonde haired woman with tattoos comes out with an attitude like its my fault they chose to clean a machine during breakfast, high peak hour. She asks me again are you sure there is nothing we can switch it with. I politely told her no ma'am and then she says OK we will refund it and walks away. I'M NOT EVEN GETTING MY FOOD NOW!!!! I at this point had been waiting for 2 breakfast burritos and a hash brown for over 30 minutes, just to be treated like trash, and never even given my food, because I just wanted to not get the smoothie because they couldn't make it. Their service has never been good, one part of the food is always cold. I will drive 15 minutes out of the way just to avoid this location. read more

Worst service I ever experienced and isn't the first time. I came in at 5:30 am for breakfast on my way off base and they open at 5 am. Went through the drive through and no one answered the voice box, drove up to the window and someone saw me but didn't answer the window, just waved. Me and my friends went around to the front and knocked on the door, seen someone wiping the counter top by the cashiers. We knocked and he looked at us and didn't answer the door so we kept knocking for about 15 minutes... irritating that someone could literally see you there and look and just pretend your not there and they already been open for over 30 minutes like what's the hold up? Just open the door and let us in, one of my friends just needed to use the bathroom as we ordered. So we left and went somewhere else, overall the service sucks. read more

Went to this place on base, waited in the drive thru for about 30-40 minutes before the whole process was over. Asked the lady inside and she said that it's been like that because they're short handed and didn't apologize for the wait or anything just wanted to carry on her conversation with the other co-workers so sad. This is the WORST McDonald's I have ever visited. The first time I went the food was ok and I though..it must have just been bad bash. My husband went on his lunch break and he come home that night explaining how bad the customer service was as well as the food. He said his burger tasted like stright chemical and plastic. Last night we went as we were hungry and everything else was closed. I didnt eat my fries because it taste as if is had been sitting out for hour! The icecream was all out the cup and messy and some of the nuggets was not cooked all the way. This is the worst ran McDonald's I have ever been to. No matter what time I go to or what day in the week, it always seems understaffed and ill-prepared for the simplest orders. This place is run VERY poorly. I have yet to have gone to this location without at least ONE thing missing, wrong, or having to wait an absurd amount of time. Service is extremely slow and unorganized. I once ordered curbside drop off in the app and sat over 30mins for the food to be brought out to us. They never came and I went in to get the order and still had to wait another 10mins to get a happy meal for my kid. After a long day at work we just wanted something close and preferably drive thru so we decided to give this location another shot. The line was long but we decided to wait since cooking was not an option. We waited for what seemed like forever (to be honest I don't know the exact amount of time but it was at least 20mins). We finally get up to order and they say they are only accepting cash. I was very upset that we waited that entire time to only be turned away and STUCK longer in a dead end line. No one came out to tell us it was cash only, there was no signs or anything. We wasted so much time to yet again, to not only be served horrible customer service , but leave empty handed. This is the one of the worst McDonald's I've ever been too. I ordered through the drive through and already had a bad impression. The guy that took my order was rude and didn't seem to happy to be working there. Then we pull up to the second window and waited for our food for nearly 15 minutes. During the entire time I was waiting I got to listen to all the employees joking off and messing around. Not once did I get an apology for the wait time or any indication that it was going was going to be a longer wait then usual. Mind you when we got there, there was one car behind us and by the time we got to leave there was at the very least 7 or 8 cars behind us. They're slow and get my order wrong 90% of the time. I'm lactose intolerant and every time I order no cheese I end up getting cheese. They don't know how to make their coffees. Whenever I order a mocha I end up getting hot chocolate. I've walked in to exchange for the right order, and I've called multiple times to let them know they messed up my order. It really is the worst mcdonalds. There's always cars out to the street because it's so far backed up. They always are short employees and they are rude on top of it and out of items. If you are on Camp Pendleton for any reason, avoid this particular McDonalds. The management is obviously incompetent. Note to management: on weekdays, the hours between 11:00-13:00 are called lunch. You should staff your restaurant accordingly. Instead, you have 4 personnel in the back in the preparation area, 2 on the register, and 2 who for some reason are patrolling the lobby, randomly wiping tables off, then sitting down or standing for a few minutes before repeating the same process. During the lunch hours, you need personnel on the register and in the back. The issue seems to be like most things with the government. Since this McDonalds already has a lease space or agreement with the Marine Corps base/garrison authority, it seems they can give as poor a level of service as they want, with zero reprocussion. I went again today against my better judgement, having had a similar bad experience back about 2 months ago. I should have listened to my instincts. If you're on the Naval Hospital or Del Mar area, go to In and Out if you need a burger. You'll get better food and much better service. read more
