When planning my trip to Orlando, I knew I had to add "Epic McD" on the itinerary. At 19k sq ft, this location was considered the world's largest McDonald's. I'm surprised at the low ratings here. This is a great McDonald's. It's spotlessly clean. There are staff going around constantly: clearing tables, emptying garbage cans, sweeping the floor and cleaning the bathrooms. The bathrooms here are surprisingly very clean. Now on to the important stuff, the food. In addition to the regular McDonald's menu you can find pasta, pizza and even a Philly cheesesteak. Surprisingly it was one of the better cheesesteaks I've ever had. The sandwich was even served on a real plate. Even the "regular" Mc Donald's food tasted better here for some reason. We had to stop by and check out the biggest McDonald's after hearing that it's right here in Orlando! First off, I was very surprised by the menu and what unique food items there were to offer. The pizza and pasta stood out and we decided to give it a go. For dessert, there's also the Belgium waffle that we had to see for ourselves! It's a 2-story building with a mini arcade and games for the kids to play while the downstairs area is mainly for seating. It gets pretty busy so be sure to try and save a good spot if you're dining in. The interior does remind me of a typical McDonald's but with the highlights of the pizza oven and other food showcases to watch. Now, you can either order food at the front or order at the kiosks which is easier and faster to do. Remember that you can also login to redeem your deals and get points for your order like other locations! After ordering, we got a table number and the staff brought us our food within about 10 minutes for a few items and another 10 for the customized pizza and pasta. Let me tell you - I was very impressed and surprised by the quality of the food. The pizza was a thin crust with a light sauce and minimal toppings (based on choice) and it held well and was pretty good! Finally got a chance to visit "The Worlds Largest McDonalds" on a trip to Disney. While this place is in fact spectacular on a McDonalds scale. There are some slight drawbacks. I would describe it as an 8 year olds paradise. Tons of things for them to do and get a cheap meal for the parents. That being said boy oh boy were there a million kids here. Not bad. To be expected with its close proximity to Universal and Disney. But the parking lot is much too small for the volume of customers they create. Spent a very long time circling the restaurant hoping to find a one. The food here was good. The cheesesteak on the new menu was delicious even if it was too salty for my liking. The chocolate cake was great as well. The rest of the meal was standard McDonalds quality which is not at all a deterrent. Would go again. I have heard so many people dumping a hundred dollars on just an hour here. Let me preface this with saying that I never write reviews. I'm a pretty easy going guy when it comes to these types of things. However, I feel it is my civil duty to warn people away from this place. First of all, for being the worlds largest McDonald's, it has the worlds smallest parking lot. We had to circle the lot 3 or 4 times to find a spot. We saw nearly a half dozen accidents of people trying to fight over the same spot...for a McDonald's btw. Once inside, we made our way to the kiosks. There are a few food options that are not available at a typical McDonald's, which is kind of cool. Since there were no table tents available to use, we placed a "to go" order, and a few of our party members went to find a table, while a few waited back for the food. One of our family members had to use the restroom, and immediately lost his appetite. He showed me the picture of said bathroom, and I also lost my appetite. Seriously, porta-potties are cleaner than the bathrooms here. We finally found an open table upstairs, and while I'm on the subject, customers here do not know how to use stairs. Rather than staying to the right, as one would expect, there are apparently no rules here. Getting up these stairs reminded of the scene in the Lion King where Simbas dad died. Total stampede. Anyway, 45 minutes later most of our food finally made it out. We were missing things, had extra of things, and you would expect the food to be fresh after 45 minutes, but nah. No worries I thought, at least we can still have "fun" at the arcade, except, whoops, the system to buy cards to have them loaded for game tokens was down. At this point, after being at a McDonald's for over an hour, we decided to cut our losses and leave. It's pretty cool that it's the biggest one in the world but I'd likely never go back. It was very busy (expected) but also VERY hot, like we were literally sweating while eating our food. I ordered just a large fry to have something while the kids ate and they were not good -- cold and some were undercooked. Took about 30 minutes to get the food so I'm not sure if my fries sat out while they were cooking the rest of the stuff but it was disappointing. Also, I paid for extra sauces and got literally none, one of the kids had to go back down and ask for some and we didn't even get as many as we had paid for.
