Stopped by here for my splurge of a sausage mcmuffin. I always order it without butter. Of course I grab my order, start sipping on my Iced Tea, open up my McMuffin to add pepper and the muffin is soaked in butter even tho the receipt clearly showed NO BUTTER. I would of gone back up to get another one but it was already lunch time and did not want to bother with the potential issue of, its after breakfast, sorry. So I just ate it and left. McDonald's - Fast Food Near Me - Palm Desert, California

Well I love the new app and the ability to order curb side. Great new service. So today I bring up the app and it says McDonald's is closed till 10:30. I've never seen McDonalds closed so I went there, went inside told the lady who looks like manager that the app shows them closed. Might want to check, she looked at me like I was speaking Chinese or something. I looked at her a said guess you don't care , how surprising. Overall this location is ok but things like this make you wonder if they care at all and that is important when handling food in my opinion So we have a new (they don't care situation) Try and use the app btw I'm sick as a dog and curb side would have been nice , I go inside tell the gal the app is having problem if anyone cares she looks right at me like I was talking to a wall, I say I guess you don't really care, still crickets 0 response What the hell do they train these people just to look at you and not answer your direct question read more

This McDonald's is the pit of McDonald's! Employees, management included are in desperate need of training on customer service, their menu, cleanliness and their POS system. I ordered online several times and pull up to the pick up spot where it says my payment method isn't working. My credit card immediately pops up saying my charge was approved. Slowest SLOW McD I think I've ever been in. No crowd but an incredibly inefficient staff in the kitchen. I can actually see them moving in slow motion. I'm giving this five stars relative to other McDonalds. I've ordered to go from here many times and the food is always correct and comes out quick. I dined in for the first time today and the service was absolutely SPLENDID. The food came out quick and correct. The man who dropped off our food even asked if we wanted any extra sauces. I was at this Mc Donald's the other day. A homeless man was coming out of the restaurant as I was collecting my purse, etc. I went in, placed my order, got my food and came out. As I was walking out, I see the homeless man trying to open my car door. I am posting this so people will be aware that even during the day, in a very affluent town, with lots of people coming and going, you must stay vigilant. ZERO STARS!! Horrible horrible experience, I put in a mobile to beat the line, was wrong in doing that. Woah was I wrong! I see my 1-item order on the screen, the male employee clicks on it and a piece of paper is printed I see he shows it to his manager wearing a pink collared shirt (indicating superior position) she looks at it and nods. Doesn't say anything. I'm still standing at the counter and no one, literally no one acknowledges me. I see on the main screen (where orders are shown) my number is under "now serving" and still nothing. Finally after 5 people who are in line and ordered I go to the manager and explain the situation and how she could just brush off an order like that. As a manager it is her responsibility to assure orders are complete and she failed horribly. Worst McDonald's ever! Manager does NOT know how to be a manager. I asked for the franchise owners number and she says no. Ok. Tired of all these horrible McDonald's places. With a page of soon-to-expire coupons in hand, my intent was to stock up (limit five offers) on buy-one/get-one-free buttermilk crispy chicken sandwiches and filet-o-fish, which is no longer regularly discounted at this location on Fridays. Replacing the backlit menu boards behind the counter are now three HD flat screens that usually reveal parts of the menu, but also display promo messages and cutesy videos. Once you spot a menu page that shows some choices you seek, you better channel your Evelyn Wood Speed Reading Dynamics pronto or *FLASH!* it's gone until the next cycle. After lying in wait for my page to pop up, it did, and posted jaw-dropping prices for sandwiches that used to be considered affordable for all. The company attempts to ameliorate the sticker shock by running a video promo reading, "Food we're proud to serve." Well, thanks for finally admitting that over the last generation probably more dogs and birds than humans finish McD's food. Forget about stocking up on BOGO McD's these days. Filet-o-fish $3.89 a pop? The display board cuts to a f-o-f picture and message, "The Simpler the Better." Never mind that simpler is also cheaper to produce and serve. That must be the "better" part. My "artisan" chicken sandwich-only was $5.19, and how about Big Macs going for more than $4? What prices may we look forward to if/when the company's newest floor employees pull in $15 an hour? Still an ably run branch, it also helps that McDonald's is couponing lately, the only way the deserving, loyal hoi polloi who helped to erect The Golden Arches may get a break today. read more

Let me tell you why this McDonald's is 5 stars. It's not because of the food- its the same no matter which you go to. It was the amenities. This is probably the nicest McDonald's you'll ever go to. Let me explain: Flat screen TVs on the wall, that actually worked (tuned in to World Cup) Great location with ample parking Great interior decor- this wasn't your typical McDonalds crappy plastic stuff, but a warm inviting setting I think this place was a McCafe concept so you can get your gourmet $4 coffee. Super nice and helpful staff. Normally you get folks that don't want to be there, but this crew was cheerful and full of energy. The owner is putting forth an effort which I appreciate. Look, the food is the food but all the rest of this makes it much more bearable. P.S. this place doesn't have a drive thru although it looks that way. It's actually an alley/loading dock area- dont drive down it like I did. read more

I had a really strange experience at this McDonalds last night. It was late, about 11 pm . I placed an order for a large coffee at the drive thru kiosk. The lady taking my order, asked me to repeat my order, I said one large coffee, with three cremes on the side. She mumbled something, and then the the speaker went quiet. I repeatedly asked her, did she get my order...still no response...I waited for a few more minutes, then I drove up to the take out window. There was no one at the window, but I saw a lady standing my the drink dispenser machine, glance over at me, then she just walked over to the food prep area. She completely ignored me. I honked my horn, she continued to ignore me. I waited at the window for several more minutes, I even took pictures but the worker continued to ignore me . Finally I drove away. As I was driving away I saw other cars in the drive thru giving their orders and driving up to the service window and receiving their order. Having never experienced a denial of service such as this, I really can't explain the worker's behavior. I happen to be black, but It couldn't be because of my race? I have never experienced a denial of service or discrimination when dining. . I will be making a complaint to corporate. I can't recommend this McDonalds. The only item I ever buy at McDonalds is their coffee. I will not be patronizing this McDonalds ever again. read more

I am reading the reviews.... I find myself dumbfounded. One guy writes the employees are all smiles. (REALLY?) Another writes, that it's the nicest McDonalds he's ever been to. (he needs to get out more,) Food is food, I've never had bad food from this location, it's simply what it is, it's pretty consistent with other McDonald's restaurants. Some reviewers have called the restaurant and play space dirty, one reviewer mentioned a cockroach, I've not experienced this myself, my space or table has always seemed clean, but I will say the place is extremely dated in my opinion, it needs to be extensively remodeled. (It's ugly.) The employees are some of the saddest group of workers I have ever seen, I think about it everytime I step foot into this location. I have a vacation home in South Palm Desert, I have actually driven miles out of my way to go to other locations because of the sadness and attitude of this locations employees. (it's depressing to observe.) I was in this McDonalds once when a group of Corporate looking guys were touring the place and on that day, I observed the employees all smiles and welcoming to the customers, with remarks such as, thank you, come again. But after the corporate guys leave, it was back to business as usual. McDonalds Corporate should send in secret shoppers. It's a sad location in a town that deserves better. read more

Last night at around 8 PM or so my boyfriend brought me home 2 hamburgers and a fry with a diet coke (whatever meal that is) and a little over an hour later I was throwing up and violently ill . I just stopped throwing up about three hours ago so I went a whole 24 hours violently ill. I had even given my dog a few French fries and she had diarrhea all over the house (which she never goes potty in the house) and throughout the day she had diarrhea. I've never been cussed out by a store employee before, much less a manager before, but tonight that is just what happened to me. Due to a personal error, my friend dialed McDonalds instead of the Red Lobster while trying to make a reservation for his friend. I can understand why someone would assume that someone making such a call to McDonalds was simply pulling a prank, but the manager was beyond rude in his response. The man terrified my friend, cussing him out over the phone and telling him that he had his number saved. My friend called him back to explain the misunderstanding and was hung up on. At this point, I called to ask to speak to the manager. Surprise, this person claims he was the manager. I asked to speak to the district manager and he gave me the number for the store he was at, and refused to put me in contact with corporate. I am appalled that this service is acceptable to McDonalds, or any company. No individual working in the customer service industry should ever cuss at a customer, especially over a mistake. kids play area was absouley disgusting, it was very dirty and must have been from the day before since I was here with my family early morning for breakfast, only two kids were in the play area. There was left half eaten burgers drinks fries & ketchup everywhere. On table, floor and inside toys. I have never seen such mess and trash everywhere. My daughter was playing inside the toys but I had to stop her and call her out. The inside toys looked like it has never been sanitize or clean. It's my closest and convenient Mc Donald's and though no drive thru I appreciate that as a long time resident if Palm Desert. I visit this McDonald's probably 3-4 times a month always morning for my before work breakfast. Unfortunately there's a female worker I see probably every visit and this person, I will call, XXL just won't greet, won't smile and literally has zero numb personality. Today, my 3rd visit this month the same XXL worker and 2 other workers engaged in a conversation which could not have been work related as they were loudly laughing and myself and 2 other customers were just totally ignored. I remained calm, however the 2 people behind me? 1 walked out the other asked the XXL worker if anyone was taking orders. WOW the look XXL gave that customer. Shame on the management at this facility as it really is time for a rebuilding of employees that just care a little bit unlike XXL. read more

Homeless haven, many homeless and loitering going on in that store. Very uncomfortable being there. I stayed one day doing homework, and one guy is there for hours with his bare feet kicked up the table, absolutely tasteless and the management seems to do nothing about it as he has been there for over two weeks. Others take over the bathroom like its their own private stall. One old guy is there for several hours taking up two tables with news papers and personal grooming supplies every single time I have been there! And I know because I go for breakfast sometimes at 7 and then lunch at 10.45 and he's still there. If that ain't loitering, I don't know what is. The only reason I am giving the store 3 stars is for the cleanliness and service, pretty fast. The morning crew have "don't bother me attitude". Evening staff has better attitudes. read more

The owner of this McD as well as the one in Temecula, CA, is a disgusting owner from the get go. He does a lousy job of maintaining the facility. It took me over 4 months of constant nagging to fix an extremely loud banging door. The on site "manager" ( a term I use very loosely at McD) did absolutely nothing when I pointed out this slamming door that everyone else could hear, but apparently not her. Same person who yaps on her cell phone. I do believe this entire family is being staffed with their own managers, thus leading to lax leadership. The owner is Richard Shalhoub. This person, amazingly, does not even print an email address on his letterhead! How many businesses out there exclude their own mail? Just shows this persons mentality. read more

I imagine this location is very busy being across the street from the mall and close proximity to college of the desert.
