The good about this Mcdonalds is that it was pretty much just your average McDonald's. The bad was my burger. For some reason, my burger had a weird smell to it. It was so smelly it stunk up the paper bag, but luckily my other food wasn't affected. Also the workers sounded a bit annoyed and also forgot my sauce. I've gone here a lot during the Monopoly promotion that's currently ongoing - it's interesting how the crowd changes between the breakfast, lunch, and dinner and weekends. Overall a relatively safe area just a bit grungy. This McDonald's location is good like a typical McDonald's location if you're only considering the food. I usually went to the McDonald's at Stonestown, but since that location is gone, I had to find an alternative. I went here on a Sunday around 2:45pm and we had a difficult time finding parking. The parking lot is kinda small, so we had to circle around the neighborhood a few times before we finally got a parking spot! One thing I like about this location is how they have a parking lot, a drive-thru, and tablets to order your food. We ordered a bunch of items from their tablet inside since both of us had deals, so we both ordered on different tablets inside the front of the restaurant. Anyways, we ordered the 20 pc McNuggets, 2 McChickens, 2 Hamburgers, Hot n' Spicy McChicken, an Apple Pie, a Strawberry & Creme Pie, and also the Oreo Shamrock Shake. I felt all of the food tasted like their usual locations, but their shake was in a weird container. The shake was placed in something that looked like a takeout box, which I thought was a bit weird. I do like how the workers here will deliver your food to you if you order it "for here" though! Overall, I'd recommend this location only if you're craving their food and don't care about dining inside. It was difficult finding parking here even though they have a parking lot. This place is good for people who just want to take their food for "to go", but if you decide to eat it there, then it'll be more difficult finding a place to sit. read more

Wow, I've never seen soda machines WITHOUT water until I came here. I was told they were worried about the homeless taking water...ummm isn't soda more expensive? There's literally NO button or access to water. You have to ask the employees for every little thing from unlocking the bathroom to the mini kids water they give you. Our fries were cold and yes, this place is filled with homeless people inside and outside. Sketchy place. It hadn't been that long since my review here. But sometimes a positive update is deserved and appropriate. In recent months, going to the Ocean Avenue Whole Foods around 9 am every other Sunday became my routine. After shopping, I would drive across the street to pick up breakfast for myself and someone else in my household. Actually, it'd be breakfast and two more later in the week with my regular order of two Egg McMuffins, two hash browns, and two breakfast sausage burritos (add four packets of ketchup, two mild salsa packs, and two spicy salsa packs) - that's for two people now, NOT all me. Throw in a slushy and I'd have a not so healthy but mouthwatering morning starter. I'd sip on my fruit flavored slushy and eat my hash brown with two packets of ketchup to wake up my stomach. And who do I have to thank? Big props and thanks to David at the drive-up window who never fails to get my order right; especially with those sauce requests. I've come here weekday late afternoons when craving those delectable French Fries (who does it better?...) and, never fails, I get less than or no ketchup packets though specifically requesting four packets. It's no fun having to scrounge for leftover fast food ketchup packets to eat their fries. Looking forward to stopping in on a Sunday morning again soon. read more

Mickey D's on Ocean represents the general demographic of San Francisco outside of formal S.F. (downtown/marina/hayes/etc). Normally I order ahead and pick up at the drive through. In the event you'd want to be human and interact with people, inside this McDonald's lies a variety of people getting mcfixins. In the mornings you can find the Chinese/viet/etc scooby gang smack talking over their McCafés. This spot is popular with college students as well. Food: I'd say they make their nuggets pretty crispy. Fries are maybe good 80% of the time. 4.4/5 Service: if we're just comparing McDonald's to other USA located McDonald's then I'd say 4/5 Ambiance: Organized chaos? Nothing sets the mood like McDonald's ;) but If you're ballin on a budget, I wouldn't recommend this particular establishment for a first date. Try Taco Bell in Pacifica. 3/5 read more

Every single time I come to this McDonald's, it's an absolute disaster. The food is consistently awful it's like they're serving leftovers from last week. The chicken nuggets taste stale and rubbery, as if they've been microwaved five times over. The McChickens? Forget any hope of a crispy bite -- they're limp, soggy, and honestly an embarrassment to the brand. They can't seem to get a single order right. It's almost impressive how reliably they screw things up. Missing items, wrong items, cold fries that somehow manage to be both soggy and dry at the same time it's a sad joke. It's so bad I actually drive farther just to avoid this location. That's how pathetic it is. Whoever is running this place clearly doesn't care about quality, service, or even basic standards of fast food. McDonald's!! Ba-da-ba-ba-ba, I'm lovin' it! Or must I? It's been so long since I went to McDonald's several times; only this time, I seldom check in and finally write a review. First off, I like how McDonald's exterior had been remodeled. So as its interior now that the pair of self service technological features were just like the ones the other McDonald's had in Sutter as well as in Stonestown. But the quality of its burgers and fries and other food selections were as mediocre as other commercial related fast food joints. Back then, I once had the first chicken salad as filling as the happy meal. Next time if I ever feel hungry, I opt for the chicken salad or McPlant burger (if it'll come around once again). Since my brother has a car, drive thru was absolutely perfect for him. His best meal was Chicken McNuggets. Overall, I still want McDonald's to stay open for business in Ocean Avenue if I one day were to get close to being broke. This place has really gone downhill. It used to be so much better in the 90's. I ordered from the drive thru today 12/7/2022 at 2:21pm. I ordered a large fry and a 20 piece chicken nuggets with sweet and sour sauce. I had to repeat my sauce 3 times. The worst part is that they didn't even give me my sauce. This used to be a good McDonalds. I ate here a lot, too much. But recently it has become the slowest slog of poor service by grumpy people you've ever seen. Last time I came it was 25 minutes to get through the drive thru, including 12 minutes where I sat at the food window watching them scramble around like headless chickens. When my food was finally ready the window worker practically threw it at me. Today it was 31 minutes, so it's getting worse. Maybe they laid off a bunch of people to try to save money but I won't be back until I see some positive reviews. 1 star for being awful plus 1 star for bringing back the McRib. read more

I know that I gave this place five stars because they're awesome with the drive-through and attend the delivery people very well. But if you are a walk-in here's what you are in for: 1. A kiosk that you have to order so this place is not elderly friendly 2. Slow order times where in the most pressing times when the kitchen is understaffed, you'll get your orders wrong (imagine a Big Mac but no lettuce, pickles, sauce!) 3. Long wait times to reaching nearly 45 minutes at a time. And prior to the recent makeover of the franchise, the place has always been gradually getting slower (circa 2018 or so), so it's been roughly six years as of the time of this write up. So understand that this franchise is not really for walk-ins that want an "in-and-out" experience. It is, though, for the following: #1 The Drive Thru customer #2 The Delivery Guy #3 The App Customer If you are any of these people, you're in for a good customer service. If you are just a walk-in that wants to hang out, enjoy the Wi-Fi, or just someone that wants to order something and then leave in less than 15 min, you are out of luck. You don't really expect a fine dining experience from McDonald's, but in the 35 minutes I was in the drive-thru line they only processed about 10 cars. I honestly didn't think a McDonald's visit could be this bad. From start to finish, this was hands-down the worst fast food experience I've had--especially from a brand as established as McDonald's. I pulled into the drive-thru to place a simple order. After asking if I was using the mobile app (I said no), the employee went completely silent--then disappeared. No explanation, no follow-up. Crickets. After several minutes, she finally came back and took my order for a 6-piece McNugget Happy Meal. But she rang me up for a 4-piece Happy Meal plus 2 extra nuggets for an additional $2.00. I explained that I didn't want a 4-piece plus 2 extra--I wanted the actual 6-piece Happy Meal that's clearly listed on the menu. Instead of fixing it, a guy chimed in through the speaker and said "that's how it is"--that technically it's a 4-piece and they just add 2 at an extra cost. This made absolutely no sense. A 6-piece McNugget Happy Meal is a standard menu item. Why overcharge for something already offered? It felt like a scam. And that wasn't even the worst part. After finally getting to the payment window, we then waited over 20 minutes at the second window for our food. It got so bad that cars behind us started honking nonstop. It was chaos. We eventually honked ourselves to get someone's attention. A worker finally came to the window and casually said they were waiting on nuggets. How does McDonald's run out of nuggets? When the food eventually came out, it was still wrong. We ordered medium fries--got small. No sauces, even though they said they'd be included. Happy Meal drinks were missing completely. We were beyond frustrated and just wanted to leave. To top it all off, I saw workers taking out the trash and then immediately handling fries at the window without washing their hands. Completely unacceptable and unhygienic. Please review your drive-thru cameras--this is a serious health concern. This location feels poorly managed and careless, possibly a franchise trying to cut corners. The $2 overcharge was shady, the service was chaotic, and food handling was just disgusting. Avoid this McDonald's. Poor customer service, questionable charges, and unsanitary practices are not worth it. read more
