Dope low key bar. The Troi Oi was super flavorful but a bit salty. It was like a burger and a banh mi had a baby. I would order again. Crispy tater tots. Lumpia was pretty decent.
Came for a killer burger and got exactly what I wanted -- a classic diner style smashburger made-to-order, all tied together with their signature house sauce. Absolutely a win!! This burger was incredibly filling, and at about $12 per burger, it's one of the best deals in the Bay. We added some Cajun fries and got two sides of their interesting fusion sauces to try -- the wasabi aioli and banana ketchup aioli. Both had distinct Asian inspiration, as did their entire menu (lumpia, Vietnamese pork burgers, kimchi burgers, you name it) and that really made the place stand out. The service was quick and friendly, and we ordered at the counter near the back of a bar. The joint had an admittedly hole-in-the-wall feel; it might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I enjoyed the grungy neighborhood feel to the place.
We've been looking for a smash burger spot and thought to check out Flats burgers, but we didn't realize it was connected to a bar, Rocks Den. We walked in and made our way through the bar to the kiosk. Little did I know, an automatic 30% tip was added when using the kiosk. We felt scammed before we even ate our meal! The table didn't look clean, though it seemed like we were the first customers for lunch at noon. The other seats were bar stools. We felt more comfortable sitting with a chair that had a backing. The other tables were even lower than the one we chose, where your knees would hit the table. The furniture just didn't seem like it was made for dining. The floor was also sticky at certain spots, so this place has seen better days and needs a good cleaning. A foosball and pool table were also in the room for your leisure, though a few big flies dominated that area. ***OUR PICKS*** WASA-BISH and CAJUN FRIES ~ tasted ok. The wasabi wasn't strong, but I was fine with that. Fries weren't anything special or house made. Just the regular frozen kind. AJI INFERNO and SEASONED FRIES ~ my guy was expecting more heat but he said he didn't taste anything spicy. Maybe his tolerance is way over the top. Fries just had salt and pepper? 10 HUNNIDS BURGER ~ this was another ok burger with 1000 island dressing. Besides ourselves, only another table came by to eat. Service was just a guy dropping off our food to our table. I guess this is ONLY a night time spot. Well, if we were given a choice on tip amount, they would have gotten another star. Food wasn't amazing or special. Mediocre burgers and fries don't justify the 30% tip we had to pay. We didn't even get drinks nor do they have free water! And they don't even have music in the background playing. Pretty dead atmosphere. This all left a bad taste in my mouth. I see no reason to return!
Among all the smash burger craze, I heard about this place from a friend saying that got some Filipino inspired burgers so I had to try it. Ended up getting it delivered, and they were on time. FOOD: Sarap Manila. An interesting experience. I'm a sucker for longanisa but it honestly didn't hit as much as I hoped. The sweetness of the sausage was a bit out of place along with the banana ketchup, or maybe that's just my own preference and just wanted a beef patty along with it to keep up the saltiness. The rest of the burger was solid. Shredded lettuce, the right cheese and a good sauce with toasted buns. Would probably skip if your hankering for the salty standard burger but I can see that there's potential in this. Loaded tots. Still crispy after the delivery and flavors were solid. Beef was a great choice of protein in this and the cheese and aoili were great additions. A good option if you're looking for a heavy side. Overall a solid meal and would definitely come back to try the other burgers. Maybe not the best smashed burgers in the city, but definitely different and worth trying, especially if you're in the area.
Really good burgers with unique Asian flavors. The bar itself is pretty chill too if you're gonna hang out. They burgers come out pretty slow so maybe do a lap or two around the block if you're not drinking inside. There's a kiosk to order in the back of the bar.
The food here is amazing!! Stopped in randomly one day and was pleasantly surprised. The burgers were cooked to perfection, and omg the loaded fries are way better than they look. The service was fast, ordering was a breeze and the bar has a nice vibe to it. Def one of my new favorite spots
The burgers are amazing! Great quality, fast service , lots of options to add on. It's located in a bar so you really have the best of both worlds. I loved the Cajun fries and you can get different sauces on the side. I will definitely be back for more !!!!
Flats Burgers is a small pop-up located in a bar - Rock's Den (look for black brick walls outside). What initially started off as one day a week grew to 3 days a week and what is now 7 days a week! Flats Burgers is unique for their Asian-fusion inspired smash burgers. It's a nice place to chill with a smash burger, fries/tots, and a cold beer in hand while watching a sports game or playing pool (make sure your hands are clean though!). Love that it's not too far of a drive from my place. WASA-BISH: Omg, I didn't realize the name till I just typed it out, haha. This was recommended by our cashier. 'Classic smash w/ a sharp, spicy twist coated in their creamy horse radish-mayo blend' per their menu. Probably my favorite out of the two we had - probably because I was craving more classic smash burger. Was expecting a spicy wasabi taste, but did not get it. Spice was very mild, but nice creamy mayo sauce inside. Flavors were blended well otherwise with the buttery toasted buns and a good alternative if you're looking for a classic smash with some flavor. SARAP MANILLA: This burger will make Flats stand out because it's a juicy longanisa patty with tangy banana ketchup-mayo sauce. Longanisa is a Filipino sausage that is savory-sweet, similar to chorizo. The longanisa patty is naturally sweet, with a little fat giving the burger some flavor. Definitely something you gotta try if you're looking for something stand-out, because I don't think you can get it anywhere else. Makes it better cause it's a smashed patty! Cajun fries & tots were perfect to the crisp. We also got the 6 piece chicken wings in lemon pepper and it was so good. It isn't a dry rub like we thought, it's wet! Skin was crispy to the bite. Definitely recommend to give this place a try!
Good but not great I highly recommend getting the Filipino-chorizo burger I chose the spicy smash burger. Overall it was good, the bun & flavor did not amaze me. My friend substituted a impossible burger so they gave one impossible patty versus two smash patties $12 for my burger $12 for the impossible burger $6 for fries
Tried this place out and it is one of the better burger options in the city. I ordered the wasabi burger, fries, extra 10 hunnids sauce, and a soda. The burger with the wasabi mayo had great flavor, and their version of thousand island dressing is one of the better ones I've tried. The fries came seasoned with black pepper and salt and stayed crispy throughout the meal. All their flavor options sound delicious and I won't hesitate to come back for more.
Definitely a hidden gem of a place to come eat for a hearty and juicy Asian-fusion inspired smash burger. It's a little pop up inside of Rock's Den! Easy service, you just order at the window. I got the Sarap Manila, it has sweet housemade longanisa with banana ketchup aioli and a runny egg. It was so delicious and I could taste the freshness of the ingredients made. I've never experienced a place that fuses familiar and classic asian flavors into a burger so personally it gets a recommendation from me!

Located in the Mission District in back of Rocks Den sports bar and lounge, this Asian Fusion smash burger specialty restaurant is serving up some awesome burgers and appetizers! I noticed them on DoorDash and placed an order for delivery. They have a creative menu and sassy burger names. I ordered the 10 Hunnids, an American inspired smash burger with fries and the 6 piece Lumpia. I made an absolute mess eating the burger dripping 10 Hunnids sauce (thousand island dressing) and juices down my hands. It was delicious! The quality and taste, and being a super juicy burger, I really enjoyed. I loved the toasted bun, too. Fries are cooked well and fresh. I loved the 6 piece Lumpia, really well made and delicious. They have wings, loaded fries, tots and homemade sauces. They open before the bar. From the photos of other Yelpers, looks very cozy inside. The food arrived fast and was packaged thoughtfully. Very convenient considering how challenging parking can be in SF. Definitely visit or DoorDash when you have a burger craving. They've got great food! I will return to try one of their other burgers and more lumpia. read more
I'm about to review all these burgers because tbh all of the ones I've tried so far is (fire emojis). This was the second time my partner and I have gone here. The first time we tried the Sarap Manila and Aji Inferno burgers. This time we tried the Wasa-bish and Tro Oi burgers. And gawd damn. They haven't missed once. In my opinion. Let's start with the place. It's located inside Rocks Den, a pretty chill bar on Mission. The times that my partner and I went, there wasn't too much people. The bartenders were nice and their drinks were pretty good. They have another room with a pool table and foosball. The place can definitely hold a lot of people and there is ample places to sit and eat. Flats burger is basically in the back; it's a window to their kitchen. You order your food and while you're waiting you get yourself a couple of drinks before your buzzer goes off. And then next thing you know, you got a hot juicy burger with fries to eat. Now the foooooood: The wasa-bish burger is refreshing. The wasabi sauce isn't too strong but it's enough to knock your sinuses clear. The Tro Oi burger was really good. It was like a bahn mi as a burger with the Nem Nuong patty and pickled veggies. The vinegar was a nice touch to the savoriness. The Aji inferno burger was good because of the sauce. The man at the register said it was spicy but I don't think it was at all. I could've gotten a side of that sauce to dip the fries in. The Sara Manila burger was also bomb. You gotta get it with the egg; which is unfortunately an extra topping that you have to pay for. It's smart on the resturaunt's part for doing that. My partner didn't really like this burger as much. I think it was because she tried my burger and liked it more than hers; she was turned off. I think if you're feeling for Longanisa, definitely get that. Flats also has lumpia and wings which we haven't got to try yet. I think I'm gonna come back to review all of their food. I recommend this spot to people who are coming off of work and need a spot for a great meal and drinks. read more

Looking for a hefty SMASH BURGER!? Check out Flats Burgers currently located inside Rock's Den Bar. They offer Asian-inspired flavors such as Sarap Manila (Filipinx), K-Pop (Korean), and Wasa-Bish (Japanese). They also offer a classic American Smash Burger. I really wanted to try all 3 of the Asian-inspired Smash Burgers, so guess what? I got all 3 because why not!? Sarap Manila is made with Longanisa and Banana Ketchup. How could I not get that!? K-Pop included Kimichi and Wasa-Bish had a Wasabi Mayo sauce. Each bite 100% lived up to its name and each one carried a uniqueness that you cannot find anywhere else but at Flats Burgers. The buns were buttery and soft, the patty was, of course, flat or smashed, but you get 2 patties and its just cooked to perfection where each bite of whatever burger you order, your tastebuds will be dancing. My personal favorite was actually the Wasa-Bish, because the Wasabi Mayo sauce they blend together was soooooo yummy!! I needed more of it so I ordered extra sauce on the side to add a little more to the buger. They also offer fries, tots, loaded tots and wings. We also ordered their loaded tots with longanisa and oooo that is a meal on its own! A generous amount of longanisa and sauce coating almost every tot. They are located inside a bar so expect people sitting at the bar or playing pool in the back table. It's honestly a chill place if want good food, some brew, maybe watch some game on one of their TVs, play pool or just hang out. Parking can be tough. Street parking so just be mindful and don't forget to pay! read more

With the rise in smash burger in the SF scene, I found myself starting on a journey that brought me immediately to Flats on the first stop. Upon entering, Flats is situated within a neighborhood dive bar and the place is usually filled with a variety of different types of people - some there just hanging out after work and some folks there to also grab a burger from Flats - a testament to the neighborhood that I also reside in. What sets Flats apart from the burger scene nearby is that they have burgers with Asian fusion part of their selection with burgers catered to Korean and Filipino flavors. Definitely a standout in terms of uniqueness and an eccentric kickoff to the smash burger journey. I ended up with the K-Pop Burger with regular fries on the side. The korean-inspired smash burger was pleasantly rich with flavor coming from the kimchi topped on cheesy meat that had a good amount of sweetness. I usually like my kbbq meats sweet and this sweetness wasn't overpowering but complimented the burger so well, I had to do a double take. I also usually skip pickles on burgers but these pickles were thick and crunchy and paired very well with all of the Korean flavors coming from the burger. The cashier also recommended the Filipino-style burger, which I would get if I liked eggs topped on my burgers but I do not unfortunately. Upon looking at it, it doesn't not look like one to sleep on if you do. What I appreciate the most about Flats is that there are no frills to this place. I personally love a dive bar and love that this hidden gem is tucked away in my backyard. I've come now twice, loaded up the jukebox with a handful of my favorite songs and eat away. If you're in SF, you need to check out Flats Burger inside Rocks Den (open Mon-Tues, 5-9 PM). They specialize in Asian fusion smash burgers, and they don't disappoint. The K-Pop Burger was my favorite--juicy patties with kimchi, creamy kimchi mayo, and kalbi sauce for the perfect smoky, sweet, and spicy combo. The Filipino-Inspired Burger with chicken and beef longganisa patties was packed with rich flavor, and the optional fried egg made it extra indulgent. The Wasa-bush Burger had a great wasabi mayo kick, though I think a pickled cucumber would've balanced it even more. Their sauces--like K-Pop (kimchi mayo), Wasabish (wasabi mayo), and Sarap Manila (banana ketchup mayo)--are all house-made and amazing. Pair your burger with fries, Cajun fries, or tater tots for a perfect meal. The staff is super friendly, and you can taste the care they put into everything. Flats Burger is a hidden gem--definitely worth the trip! read more
The Sarap Manila is really good make sure to add the fried egg for the whole experience. They were a little late in opening and I almost left.it's a good thing that I stayed because the Langonisa burger was good. The place shares a place with a bar and They actually make it work. The place is clean and I felt safe even it was inside a bar . I recommend the Sarap Manila Burger. The Langonisa was perfectly cooked. Topped With a crispy egg and it is really delicious. read more

Hands down one of the best underrated burgers you can get in the city. It seems far but it's worth the trip to try this unique and tasty burger. They've also been doing pop ups first Thursday downtown if you're around the Financial District later in the day / early afternoon. I really liked the char taste that complimented this complex yet well put together monstrosity. Top with a fried egg for that extra runny flavor palette combination. Along with the extra crispy fries to take you back to childhood. I can eat these weekly and never get tired of the flavors that don't compare to other burger places doing their thing. The staff is always hustling and grinding it's definitely a family affair with all hands on deck and everyone pitching in going their part. Can't wait to see you guys again soon to try the new menu items sneak peak coming read more

One of the city's little gem is this Asian inspired smash burger located inside a bar. Their burger is flavorful and it's huge! This place should be popping especially on a Saturday night. I will definitely be back to try their other burgers. read more
