Is the food good? No, it's terrible. But that's not what makes this location so special. And it's not the broken menu screen that's remained unfixed for a year straight. No, what makes this McDonald's truly the worst is the completely incompetent service people who find new and unique ways to screw up your order. Every single time. Wrong items in the bag. Or. Completely Missing items you already paid for. You ask them "no pickles and onions" So your kids will actually eat their cheeseburger. Sorry. Pickles and onions still there and now your kids won't touch it no matter what. They forget your orders no matter how many times you repay it, get easily confused, and half the time the correct order in your bag is still half frozen and inedible. Ordered a few days ago and they messed up all the filet o fishes so we had to go back and have it fixed. Came back again tonight to receive rude customer service, the fries I asked to be well done were undercooked and soggy, my filet o fish did not have extra tar tar, they forgot my sprite and did not honor my drive thru code. I have been complaining to the store owner for over seven months now and absolutely nothing has changed, so I figure I'll let the community know what McDonalds thinks of us in SCV. They apparently have so much business they could care less about this problem. Below is yet another letter to the owner along with pictures of the drive-thru screens mentioned below. And am told they have no idea but people complain about it all the time. No kidding.... How do you justify not repairing your main source of income at this resturant is beyond me. Fast forward to today.. Geee it must be fixed by now right? NOPE. So because both screens are broken, the line I am in, BOTH screens are dead, the guy in front of me sat there on his phone and did a mobile app order for the entire car while I sat behind him waiting, and the left lane passes FIVE cars through! They only have one screen completely broken If you're not going to fix this, fine. I simply wont go here any more and will write reviews about this property in my spare time, and I have allot of it. I'm 41 years old and been a fan of McDonald's my whole life. After hundreds of visits and locations I have finally found the first McDonald's to not allow drink refills!!! I ordered at the kiosk and needed assistance. The guy who helped me was very helpful and nice, really the only positive part of this experience. I waited quite a while compared to my partner (he got his order very quickly). When I got mine, the fries were barely warm, just room temperature, some were just on the cooler side. There was no ketchup or napkins in my bag. I ordered medium fries and a double quarter pounder with cheese, no pickle. When I opened the box, my burger was upside down, sitting in a small pool of grease. I checked and made sure I just didn't have the box upside down when I opened it, but the burger was placed inside upside down. I took a couple bites and saw there was a big pickle. My partner's order was fine and perfect, but mine was littered with issues from the start. I can't help, but feel if I hadn't asked for help, maybe I wouldn't have annoyed someone to screwing up my order this badly; if they were busy, it would be easier to excuse the issues, but there were only 3 or 4 other people in the dining area who were already eating, and only 2 orders in que from drive thru. It is minor blip at the end of the day, but I've never had an experience this bad at a McDonald's, which sucks to deal with, but it is what it is. I just won't go back to this one. read more

I was just stumbling around yelp and saw this McDonalds. I was surprised to see how low rated it was. I will say I was not surprised. I have been going there (and other McDonald's locations in town) for going on ten years. I think they benefit from the highway location but just don't care about service because they may not get many locals. I stop here for convenience when exiting or entering the highway here. There is not much difference between this and any other McDonald's in terms of quality of food. Yes I have had dry buns and sandwiches (especially fish filets) that are thrown together sloppily, but I have had the same experiences elsewhere. I have had some good drive thru service with younger kids who were obviously working their first jobs there, but have also some rude service from the manager. This was one of the first places to take away self serve beverage station and they no longer give refills on soda even if you ask. This is the reason I don't go there. When they charge so much for a soda and sometimes it seems like "all ice no soda", I feel like they should at least be willing to provide free refills like other franchises do. Also inside at the cash register they are not very attentive. I have had to wait what I consider a long time "and I am patient and don't mind waiting" while the manager looks me in the eyes standing at the register and just goes about her business leaving me unserved. I find it hard to order from the touch screens and they are not very accommodating to people like me who have these difficulties (but that is a corporate decision). So for quality of food this place is average McDonald's For lack of free refills on soda this place is well below average For quality of service also below average For a manager that makes customers feel less than respected when the, they really lose points I would advise people to avoid this one location when craving McDonald's but in a pinch when you need convenience over all else then stop here. There are never many people here so it is fast because most people who live near avoid it and go out of their way to other locations due to bad experiences. read more

I went to this McDonald's last night and ordered the The Angel Reese Special double with a shamrock shake. I have to say I haven't visited a McDonald's in a long time. When I paid $23. For this meal when I can get the same meal at Burger King for much less. This is why I always go back to Burger King. Wow, McDonald's has raised their prices ridiculously when there's no customer service and you have to use your Kia system to order food, and it takes longer to figure it out. Purchased an Ice Caramel Coffee from a different location about 30-mins away as we were traveling however, the location originally purchased did not give us the Ice Caramel Coffee but a regular Iced coffee so we stopped to ask if they could simply put the caramel inside or replace it they said yes and when we pulled up to the window they told us NO! Both the lady at the window on 04/12/2025 at 3:45pm and Stephanie the Manager were very rude and instead of offering a solution told us there was nothing they could do! I rarely give reviews for fast food chains unless they rate above or way below standards for the brand. Well today they pushed me a bit too far at this Mc Donald's. Ordered 3 simple value meals and all went smoothly until we reached the point of receiving our order (done correctly). I asked for an additional sauce packet and was told that they don't give them out for free and it's 29 cents. Ok, I get it, the business is trying to save money but really? I ordered my sandwich without mayo and asked them for a refund for the cost of mayo. No? They gave me the mustard for free. That's nice. But I'm not feeling like getting nickeled and dimed after paying $23 for fast food. Sheesh! Top it off, our three orders of French fries were the worst - dry, hard, barely chewy fries. I had just walked up to the Golden Valley McD and upon getting to the front doors, both were locked. I was surprised and checked the hours for the dinning room but the dining room didn't close until 9:00 pm and I was there at 8:13 pm. Thinking this could be some sort of mistake or the staff inside was unaware that the doors were locked I tried again in case it required a stronger pull. Nothing, but then the attempt at opening the door attracted the attention of who I presume was the manager. He spun his hand in a circle having me believe that the front door was locked or broken and the side one was the one that was open. As I walked to the other side the door was locked. And the manager did the same thing. He spun his hand in a circle so I figured he wanted me to go through the drive thru, but I had no car. I had walked to the McDonalds but I gave it a shot since no communication was given other than a hand motion. I stood by the ordering menu and nothing. I waited and nothing. Then cars started coming and I did not think it was safe for them to have me walk through a drive thru. I went to the first window but the guy was not paying attention. When a car pulled through the guy opened the window and I was able to ask about what I should do because I had no idea why I was being put through so many steps. He told me to go to the next window which I did and knocked and told the drive thru guy I had no sort of acknowledgment on the drive thru or even when I had walked up to the front doors earlier. He told me they had no workers and were unable to help me and it was dangerous for me to be walking on a drive thru. At this point Im irritated because no one had told me anything until this moment. No workers, but they had at least 4 people inside including the manager. He told me he was drive thru only but could do an order pickup. But this contradicted what he had said about solely working drive thru. There are kiosks which replace the human component inside but yet they don't have workers?!? Make that make sense. Either management needs a switch or ownership needs a change. None of this would have happened if the manager came out and told me the dining room was closed and drive thru and order pickup were the only options for the day. No sign on the door, the app, or even verbal communication until I was at the last window of the drive thru where I was finally able to talk to someone. This took me 15 minutes of waiting, and an additional 10 to place the order as I had to see if I had any Apple Cash available to make the order. Unprofessional, rude, and sad. This is one of the best locations in SCV.....however I am quite disappointed. A couple weeks ago I went through the Drive Thru and when they handed me my 2 drinks, without a cup holder and soda dripping all over the outside of the cup. I took the cupholder, wiped off the excess drink. Got home to find the cupholder and my front seat soaked with Diet Soda. Emailed them my disappointment with pics, 2 weeks later I get an email from the franchise owner claiming they tried to call me which they never did.
