Avoid this as your stop off of 95. It won't be quick and they won't have anything you ordered. Placed an order on the app, waited in the drive thru for over 20 minutes, nothing said at the first window to me. Get to the second window and am informed the CO2 machine isn't working and they don't have soda. They tried to offer me water or HiC. I declined and asked for a refund which they had to figure out how to do. Not worth the stop at all. If you want a fountain soda, do yourself a favor and stop anywhere else. read more

Where to start? I guess with the beginning of our experience. We pull into the drive through for a 5-minute drink stop. The line was short, so it didn't take too too long to get to the menu board and start ordering. The man taking our order misheard us quite a bit and seemed to find his job confusing or difficult. They were out of a few items that were proudly advertised by their posters. When we got to the first window, the man who had taken our order charged us an amount of money that seemed unusually large. He did not show us our order or prices as we ordered them, so we were unsure of the price until we were charged for our order. We asked for a receipt, but he told us to get them at the next window. So to the next window we go. When we arrive there, we voice our minor dissatisfaction to the employee (a different employee than the one who took our order), and he politely apologizes and explains how he is trying to improve. They then proceed to prepare our order. They pour up our soda from the fountain - oh, sorry, I mean the two-liter bottles, and make our iced coffees. They make our frappé. Well, our slushie. See, their ice cream machine was non-functional, as per the cliché, so they couldn't sell ice cream or milkshakes, but they sold us a frappé anyways, using finely crushed ice instead, thus making a coffee slushie rather than a frappé. They then make one of our caramel iced coffees. Whoops, I mean caramel-free caramel iced coffee under the title and price of a caramel iced coffees. They tell us that our second one will be a minute as they need to brew more iced coffee (a fact that the employee who took our order failed to mention). That's when a third employee said, "I can figure it out" while proudly holding up a pot of hot coffee. Luckily, the second employee vetoed that offer, gave us our receipt, and had us wait at the third window. Upon reviewing our receipt, we discovered that we were charged the regular price for a large frappé and gave us the small frappé that we ordered. Once our second iced caramel coffee came out we verified, asking, "does this one have caramel, because our first one didn't." Before we even finished our question, the employee (this was the same one who offered to put hot coffee on ice to make an iced coffee, by the way) interrupted with, "yes, ma'am, thank you." And abruptly closed the window before we could ask anything else. This was an auto response and it was clear that she was not listening to our question. In conclusion, we stopped for five minutes, and pulled out twenty minutes later. Judging by the generally low review of this location, it looks like we are not the only ones to have a poor experience here, but we did get a few laughs out of it. read more

Why are there 8 people working and yet everything was so slow? There was not even a rush of people ordering. No one was at the counter. Ordered at kiosk. Took a long time for 2 burgers. Asked for no ketchup- it had ketchup. Paid for a cup- was not given one. Literally screamed hello? Excuse me? And no employee came over. Waited 45 minutes, watching everyone get their order. I went up and got the worst attitude from this big girl there like I did something wrong. Never this place again, and never Santee either. I am disappointed at the "I don't care attitude" at this location. Person on the mic at the drive through wasn't the most polite, cheerful and happy person. Neither were the people at the window. On the bright side, my order was correct and the food was ok. My dad's order on the other hand was another story. He ordered a Double Quarter Pounder. Man at the window asked "quarter pounder?" Dad said no, I ordered a Double Quarter. Got got handed a bag with a box that said "Double Quarter Pounder". Got back on the road and opened the box and darned if he just a Quarter Pounder in a DQP box! Seriously?!?! The service was very slow at this McDonald. I ordered my food via mobile order, waited for 5 minutes in the car before I walked into the restaurant, but my food was still not ready. I waited another 5 minutes to receive my order. When I checked, my 10-piece McNuggets was missing. They spent over 10 minutes to put 4 McChicken sandwiches in the bag. I asked the lady about my missing order, she took another few minutes to confirm that I really ordered the nuggets. There were a few other people waiting for their orders wheel I was waiting, and one of the older couple also missed a drink from their order. The sandwiches and nuggets were hot and fresh though. No staff was available or care to clean the dinning tables. Trashes was left on the table and some small pieces of trash were on the floor as well. My two starts were really for the freshness of the food, there was no services at this McDonald's. read more

Horrible horrible horrible! Santee and St. George McDonalds has to be in the top 5 worst McDonald's in the state of South Carolin. The service is horrible. Plan on being in line at least 20 minutes or more and the window workers in Santee on 2nd shift are not friendly what so ever. No hey , no by , no thank you nothing. The one at the food pick up window to busy talking to other employees to stay focused on her job. I wasted precious minutes of my life waiting in line then waiting at 3 rd window for food to be brought out to have to circle back around and yet wait again to get a refund. I keep hoping things here will improve, but unfortunately they keep getting worse. This beautiful McDonald's building is filled with crew who have no idea what they're doing. The drive thru crew doesn't answer for SEVERAL minutes (if at all) when a car pulls up. It takes SEVERAL minutes to receive your order and you have to pray that the food in the bag is what you ordered. I tried going inside today, thinking that might be a better option, but when I opened the door the lobby was filled with angry looking customers who looked like they had also been waiting far too long. The management of this store needs to have their franchise reviewed by corporate. I would give them zero stars if I could. read more

I live in Santee and I refuse to go to McDonald's and after four months, i went and was reminded why I stay the h*** away from there. It took me 40 minutes to get food started off in the drive-through sat there 10 minutes. No one came to the speaker to ask for orders so I went inside. I was one of four people 30 minutes later. I finally got my food. You're so frustrated by time you get your food. You just don't want it anymore. I work at a golf course and I advise all my golfers not to go there. Those that have gone there, not knowing I've heard all about it from them what horrible experiences they have. read more

Second Fry station no fry person ! Frier had one basket down ! Drive through was no runner! Prep table one person yes scratching his butt with no gloves didn't wash his hands ! It's a busy location since it's directly off the highway but we were able to get through the drive thru quickly and on our way. Docked one star as they forgot my husbands meal but we realized it before leaving the lot and he went back in. The woman was very apologetic and friendly. I don't review McDonald's, but the incompetence here was beyond belief and you have to see it to believe it. Four orders, four messes. The most spectacular was a burger than became a chicken sandwich. Two hamburgers became one burger, then three burgers. It's one thing to miss an item, but it takes spectacular incompetence to make these mistakes. Sadly, we were not the only ones who had problems with our orders. I thought for sure after waiting and seeing how busy they were my burger would come hot off the grill but it did not.
