Every table is dirty. No napkins available to clean tables yourself. Ketchup packets and trash on almost every table. I don't expect a fine dining experience at McDonalds but clean tables would be nice.

I mean is this yesterday's cheeseburgers or what?

Seriously? Our food was COLD coming out of the drive-thru 2 min drive home. Pathetic. Not to mention our burgers had no condiments. DO BETTER.

Mixed Results Had to run down to Lowe's the other day to pickup some items for work and decided to run through the drive through at McDonald's. Had driven by several time and it was always so crowded I was afraid of slow service. Gave it a shot anyway. I was mistaken about the slow service. The way they have it set up is with twin lanes for ordering funneling down to just one to pay at the first window and pick up at the second. It actually went faster than expected. That said, would have been nice if they had gotten my order right.

    Mess and overspill

Me and my girlfriend went here to have a small food break. Place was nice when we entered. We soon found out how poor this location is in general. Awful customer service, many people asked for refills for the ice, dr pepper, and straws but they never bothered to refill it, also an employee was vaping in open sight. Overspill at the drink counter and full trashcans alwell as an awful spill at the other side of the room. Definitely not coming back to this location.

Horrible service. Ridiculously long wait times. Incompetent employees. My food is always hot.

Great location. The staff always nice and gets order right the first time. Drive-thru line goes pretty fast.

Not sure what has happened to Kat's Patch but the food is terrible and what's worse if you're going to serve terrible food at least serve it hot and not cold. Livermush and egg on bun taste like it came out of fridge. After 1 bite, I threw out the window. One person working there was too busy outside smoking a cigarette with the gloves she serves food with -yuck!! This place used to be a good burger joint the kind that would make the "Our State" magazine. Absolutely not anymore. It's terrible.

I found this place on Google and decided to stop by as I wanted to try a local establishment. When pulling in, I noticed they have a drive thru window for call in orders. There is an entrance on both sides of the building. They have outdoor seating on one side. There was a lady in front of me who appeared to be a regular. My wait to order was brief. I told the cashier it was my first time there. She couldn't give me any solid recommendations as "I'm very picky" and "eat at the same restaurants" but "this isn't one" LOL. She added "I just work here." That gave me pause. I don't know many people who work at a food establishment that haven't had their food... especially if you work as a cashier. She did give some recommendations and I opted for a burger as she mentioned they are prepared and cooked fresh vs frozen patties. I ordered a Double bacon cheeseburger (with bbq sauce) with hush puppies and a sweet tea at 3:12pm. It was a little over $13. They take orders on a traditional order pad. I was given the bottom with a number when my order was ready. I was given a cup of ice to get my own drink. The sweet tea was PERFECT, Southern style sweet tea. They do have unsweetened tea and lemonade along with foundation drinks. My order was ready at 3:17pm, which was fairly quick. While seating, I noticed many tables were dirty and not cleaned, even though they were empty and had been for a while. The floor wasn't the clean either as I noticed trash and dirty under the tables and in the walking areas. I sat at the table by the TV. When looking up at it, I could tell it was dirty and hadn't been cleaned in a while. My hush puppies were hot and delicious. When I unwrapped my burger, I immediately noticed my bun was cold, which was disappointing. It was also dry... The patties were a decent temperature but the cold buns threw things off, for me. It looked and tasted like it was cooked well done. They didn't ask what temperature I wanted it cooked and it's likely because they may not know how to prepare the various styles. Most of the staff were young, likely teens or early 20s. I did see an older gentleman as well. I saw one staff scratching/rubbing his beard and his arm along with being on his phone in the food service/area. I saw another person scratching his neck and back. I didn't see either of them wash their hands afterwards. I was present when another order came in. The former put on one glove and began preparing the food... without washing hands. Apparently, there is no designated area for eating or drinking as I watched the staff do as they please around the kitchen. Honestly, they shouldn't be eating in the kitchen anyway... It was very unsanitary and I wished I hadn't witnessed the things that I did as I was eating. Staff need more training on food safety. Dining room needed attention and cleaning but staff opted to be in a circle and chit chat in the kitchen during down time. It wasn't busy at all during my 40 minutes there. With current operating procedures and practices, I do not and would not recommend this place. I don't plan on returning if I'm in the area again.

Think of it as a taste of my first home away from home. There aren't all that many places in North Carolina to get my fix of Deutsche Küche, so it was nice to find one that was new to me in -- of all places -- little ol' Troutman. Bavarian Kitchen is something I'd instead expect to find in a major metro area, but here it was hidden along the small town's main drag. The crowds moving in and out throughout my visit suggest that plenty of other people already knew about what a pleasant experience this is. As I was visiting alone, it made sense for me to take a spot at the bar rather than taking up a whole table to myself. Besides, I knew sampling the beer early on would help give me some hint as to whether this spot was the real deal. A half-maß of Paulaner Hefe helped convince me quickly. I then went with a more Swiss approach to my meal, choosing a style of schnitzel more commonly found in that neighboring nation, stuffed with cheese, ham and mustard. This "leckerli" was delicious indeed, as were the Spätzle noodles that accompanied it. Normally the dish comes with a side salad, but I also have a love of German-style red cabbage, so I asked for the Rotkraut instead, and it was among the best I've had in years. I chose to spoil myself a little after the main meal by adding a bit of cherry schnapps and a helping of apple strudel to my order. These were good as well. Service was a bit slow sometimes at the bar, which did not seem to be the case out in the dining room, as I saw the waitresses moving quickly all night. Also worth noting, the bartender struggled with his knowledge of German -- even though all the menu items are identified by their German names. "Kirschwasser -- is that a kind of beer?," he asked about my after-dinner drink order. If you're gonna work at a place that emphasizes authenticity, you should probably strive to learn the terminology. And these stumblings in service quality are the only things keeping me from a fifth star. Reservations seem like a wise move here, especially since my experience suggests the quality of service may be better when seated at a table. And this spot definitely seems deserving of your attention if, like me, you're a fan of good German eats and beer.
