This McDonald's is located inside the Union City Walmart, within the Union Landing Shopping Center. Firstly, with the remodel, they didn't think of the design for this McDonald's thoroughly enough. It is poorly designed. The dinning area is really small, and because of the way it was designed, whenever the ordering line is long, it tends to wrap around the dinning area. Really poor design. They should had designed it where the dinning area is separate from the ordering area so that people waiting in line do not need to crowd the dinning area. Secondly, this place is poorly run and poorly managed. They are always out if something, and on my most recent visit, they were out of Strawberry Banana Smoothies, as well as Coke!? Can you believe they were out of something simple like Coke!? Thirdly, this location is always understaffed, every time I come here, the wait to order and receive food takes forever. It's always like 1-2 people working and that's it. They really need to staff more people working here because it's inside a Walmart and it's always busy. Lastly, they need to clean up the dinning room more often because a lot of times you would see trash laying around the floors and on the tables. OMG. This is my worst experience at McDonald's. I ordered McNuggets and French fries. Opened one of the the boxes and found a nugget has a piece that looked like someone has already bit it. Didn't get any sauce for nuggets either. The french fries is wayyy undercooked. Very soggy and inedible. No salt, no taste, nothing. The place had no other customers when I picked up my order btw so no excuse that they'd rush the order out. They just really didn't know what they're doing. Worst customer service! The whole mc Donald is sitting in the dirt dump, the drive through open during construction. When I pulled up the microphone didn't work, so I proceed and the first window wasn't opened neither so I went to the pick up window. Probably the worst McDonalds I've visited in this decade. (Although downtown San Leandro and the one on Admiral Callaghan Lane in Vallejo have this one beat for slow service.) Employees are surly and inattentive. Even if you repeat your order multiple times, they will forget something. My expectations were low, but I did not enjoy the food. Don't patronize unless you're starving. There are better McDonalds within driving distance -- or go to the nearby In-N-Out. Seating is limited because the local seniors used the tables at the original set-up as an informal meeting center, so the remodel years ago reduced the number of tables and their size. While shopping at the Wal-mart, my son wanted to get a sandwich at the McDonald's located within the store. I obligated him by going to this McDonald's. I knew it wasn't going to be good eating there with all the noise of the shopper running around just beyond the tables - this location was poorly designed! After ordering my son's meal, it took them quite-a-while to deliver a sandwich and fries from the smallest kitchen I have seen at a McDonald's. Getting the drinks was not great because the soda fountain area was a little messy, and the tables at this location could use some cleaning. What really got me upset after sitting down was a man going around the tables, including ours, talking non-sense to everyone. I can not believe the management of this McDonald's just let him bother all of the patrons trying to get something to eat in peace! I really hate to be that type of person to be on here and say that "if I could give them a 0 star, I would", but here I am. This place is absolute trash. My boyfriend and I got two happy meals with orange juice. We didn't notice until an hour goes by running errands that our orange juice had black stuff in the bottom of the cup AND it was floating in our orange juice. We came back to let the staff know and get a refund, but instead of apologizing for the inconvenience they accused us of sabotaging our own orange juice...like are you kidding me? They made us throw away the drinks but only to hide the evidence and to shove in our face that it's simply not them. When we asked for a manager, the lady supposedly said she was but damn if she is, she was extremely rude and unprofessional. One after another,they got their food and drinks while we continued to wait. Looking at the ratings, there must be some truth to it. After ordering a smokehouse meal with a smoothie (over $12 so definitely at the more expensive McD meal), I asked for some water to wash down the tartness of the smoothie. Lady at the drink station acknowledged but purposely delayed providing it. Perhaps hoping I'd go away. Since it wasn't busy and several minutes of me standing at the pickup station and not going away, I finally got my water with a smirk.
