Thank you to a great experience at McDonald's today. On our way from Chicago to Apple picking we stopped to have lunch with our grandchildren. The place is clean. The parking lot is packed. The Kia's aren't working as they should be and the line is out the door. The line for the drive-through is blood onto the street. I waited for them to fix the kiosk so I can place my order. The girl, but the front register took two people's order and I jumped in that line and then she told me no we don't take orders at the register The food tasted like any plain cheeseburger. I live here in this small town of woodstock. And it seems no matter if they're are busy or not it's always the same result. If you're going through the drive through check your food/order. Today is 11/28/25 the day after thanksgiving. Nobody wants to cook so easy fast food is the option. I ordered 20pc nuggets with two med fries and a happy meal. Pretty simple order right ? But not for this lousy establishment and staff. They handed me half my order from the drive through window and directed me to pull up. I followed easy directions. I asked if the bag they brought me out was the 20pc nuggets because the first bag was just fries. The clowns said yes and i didn't check( my fault ) i received a 4pc nuggets with a 4 pc chicken strips smh. On top of that i asked where the happy meal and they said it's in the bag. Again (my fault ) b/c i should've checked. But i didn't and I took their word for it. So my simple order of a 20pc nuggets with 2 med fries and a happy meal. Turned into a 4pc nugget with 4pc chicken strips with two medium fries & no happy meal. Not the first time this has happened. And i know better b/c this is a common theme at this fast food joint. But they were kinda busy and i happened to be in a rush so i took their word. Excuse my profanity but fuck this place they suck. The tables in the place are ALWAYS nasty and I know to bring a wipe if we are eating inside. The ordering kiosks are a pain. If you want a cheap, dirty place to eat and hang out with homeless people and other people with their call phones blasting - Woodstock McDonald's is your place. Horrible service. Particularly on May 4, 2025 5:20pm We placed an order for three cheeseburgers, one without mayo, iced coffee, large fries, McFlurry and crispy chicken with a coke. They give all cheeseburgers with mayo, and give a mcrispy that has nothing besides the chicken, and no coke. I come into the store politely to explain only the cheeseburger and coke. They tell me they charged me extra on the coffee as an upgrade to replace the coke. I explained this isn't what I ordered, I don't need a refund I just need the items fixed, and they bring over some male manager working the 5:20 shift who then proceeds he needs to charge me more money to fix their mistakes. Wanted 3 employees showing each other something on their phones the entire time I was there. The lady behind me waited longer than me for a large black coffee. McDonalds always seems to have bad reviews - I assume because of frequency of visitors. This location is not the best, but it is certainly NOT the worst. The element that really stands out for me are the folks in the drive-thru. The set up at this location is not great for the flow of traffic that comes through, but the folks working the bubble and food window are quick and so friendly! I honestly look forward to mornings when I stop by before work because the lady that works it always has a certain charm about her. Food is the same as all McDonald's chains and is well managed. I like that they have a third window built in to get your delayed order to you efficiently without disturbing the flow of traffic. Honestly with the number of customers during peak hours, it's shocking how well it's all managed. I've never had bad food or an incorrect order so far! read more

I've been to this Woodstock McDonald's several times over several years. I visited on Jan 24th around 05:00 and ordered two cheeseburgers. The buns were dried out as if they were on a heater for hours. After several bad visits, the food is old and never fresh which is surprising since the drive through is always backed up read more

This location is terrible and always has been, but unfortunately it's the only one in town. They repeatedly miss items on the order (always the expensive half, go figure) and then refuse to fix it. Check your bags when you leave here; you will almost certainly have something missing or wrong. And if you don't call them out the moment it happens, you're out of luck. Furthermore the service is atrocious. The screens with the menus only work half the time, so you can never see what anything costs until after they forget to give it to you. I was courteous and smiled at everyone like a normal human being and got nothing but weird glares. They don't even say "thanks" or anything, just glower and hope you leave before you notice they got your order wrong. I don't normally leave bad reviews especially on fast food restaurants, but this location has been going downhill for years. If you are in town and looking for a quick bite, go somewhere else. The Woodstock McDonalds needs to figure out who quit or got fired appropriately 5 months ago and get them back ASAP! The McDonalds in Woodstock has always been busy but the line always went pretty fast and the orders were correct. I would get my morning caffeine fill most mornings until recently. The line moves at a glacial pace and unless you "coach" the person handing you you your items there is a 80% chance you aren't leaving with what you ordered. Tonight I got in line at McDonalds because there was only 4 cars in line at 6:15PM and only wanted an vanilla ice cream cone. I waited over 15 minutes in line. Ordered my ice cream cone waited another 3-4 minutes only to get to the window and be asked if I ordered a coffee... I said no a vanilla ice cream cone. Repeatedly get orders wrong and then expect you to go all the way back for them to fix it when they do (so don't bother going here if you're just passing through); staff doesn't treat customers like human beings, even remotely; food is almost always cold or very obviously microwaved. This review is totally for the manager that currently runs the location. McDonald's is successful because they're the same, everywhere you go in the country, the food is the same. The difference is service. I feel bad for not remembering his name to give earned recognition. I ordered a chocolate milkshake at 2:30pm, and I was the only order at the time. I had to wait 20 minutes for my milkshake, as the employees were catering to the Drive Thru Customers. While I was waiting a notice an employee make the wrong Cafe Drink because she scraped off the top whipped cream and caramel and then dumped out some of the coffee. She then proceeded to use the same cup with 1/2 the coffee remaining in it and added to the drink and handed it out the Drive Thru. Horrible staff, horrible management, especially Susan. I ordered a simple meal and I get something extremely complicated back, something that I didn't order. I asked to get my eight dollars worth of food and Susan won't give me what I paid for. I would give her my old food back but garbage day is on Thursday so can't go in the trash and bring it back, additionally the clerk never gave me a receipt in the first place. This could be the most un-American McDonald's I think I have ever witnessed in my entire life. The customer is always right? No. But whenever I've had a problem at McDonald's they have always corrected their mistakes except for this particular location. There's always a line longer than the line to get on the titanic. Rude staff. Cold food. Wrong food... We went on a bike ride to get some McDonald's. We go in get our food, get yelled at for being in a group with people we were with. We get our food and go outside to sit and eat. They kick us out, after us giving them our money, they won't let us sit outside. We get on our bikes after throwing out drinks that we paid for and couldn't take with. Whenever I think about how much I'd hate living in Woodstock; I think of McDonald's. It's disturbing to see how busy this place stays at any given time of the day. Very few people out this way are thin. Unless, perhaps, they are in high school. I drive out from Chicago to visit my parents, and I try to get out there once every other week. They have chosen this hillbilly town as their retirement community. Pulling into my parents' driveway, I am met by my father before I can even cut off the engine. Along with my mother's selections, he has made a list of food items he wants from McDonald's and hands me his credit card. Not only is there a list for breakfast, my father has made a lunch list as well. He's not sure when McDonald's makes the switch to lunch. When you're in your 70's, I think it's safe to say you're not bringing sexy back any time soon. If the P's want fast food, I am not gonna judge. In Chicago, McDonald's is a dirty word. If you even think of eating there, I would strongly suggest that you borrow your neighbor's car, and dress in all black in order to reduce the chances of anyone recognizing you. Really, there's way too much research being done that clearly shows you how bad this food is for your health. Old people supposedly lose sensitivity in their taste buds. I can understand why my parents live it up on a semi-frequent basis by ordering quarter pounders laden with sodium. My mother even salts her fries and chases it with a milkshake. Don't get me wrong. I hope I don't get this way when I'm 70. I can tell by their list that there is more of a desire to eat lunch than breakfast. Glancing at my phone, I see that it's just after 10. I run a quick errand and then arrive at McDonald's 5 minutes before lunch. Nope! They're not even allowing me to order until it's officially 10:30. There's no one in the drive-through, but I notice the parking lot is at 3/4 full. I park my car to wait, shoot a few texts, and check my Facebook. I look up 10 minutes later and the drive-through is jam packed. Really? Within 10 minutes? Like roosters at dawn, come 10:30, boy, all those hillbillies in their pick-up trucks and luxury GM sedans are chompin' at the bit, just waitin' to throw on a feed bag. That is, one of the Golden Arches variety. I assume my place in line and wait with a deer-in-the-headlights look on my face. I am almost confused by the double lane ordering stations. I finally get my chance to roll up to the mic. Like an MC, I order all my food with flawless accuracy. Curiosity even got the better of me and I tried their new sport-season wings. Knowing they are bad, they couldn't be too bad considering they actually have real chicken bones in them. This makes me believe the chicken surrounding them is real too. Before I know it I am at the first window. Sure enough, everything runs smooth as butter. Then it happens. After I have paid for my parents' food I realize I have forgotten to order fries for mom. Her orders are never easy because a chocolate shake isn't considered a drink that can be part of a value meal. I get to the second window and I beg. Right away, like a virus in the Borg's computer system, the whole entire staff stops and looks at me with wide eyes. I can't tell if they're upset or if they think someone in there messed up. I watched a staff of at least 10 people stop all at once. I apologized profusely, and like kids who fall off a bike and get back on, I had my fries in two shakes of a lamb's tail. I'm actually proud of the fact that my drive-through ordering skills are rusty! This staff is amazing, fast, and efficient! I even think those sport-season wings are really tasty! Unfortunately, I won't be going back any time soon. That is, unless my parents have another Mac Attack. Until then, it's Kasha and Quinoa with chicken and steamed veggies for me! Last, I find it important to mention that this place is not good for dancing. Sadly, you're going to have to find somewhere else to dance off that Quarter Pounder with cheese.
