Y U M. Fantastic meal, really neat menu - unique offerings that you don't see everyday and high quality food. Our server was so sweet, I wish I could remember her name but she was the epitome of hospitality! We split the Bacon Wrapped Shrimp and Risotto Bites. MMM. Great sauces that paired with each. I absolutely loved my Short Rib Stroganoff - delicious red wine cream sauce, mushrooms, and plenty of Short Rib chunks. It was hard to decide what to order with all of the interesting offerings. Will be back!

The atmosphere here is upscale, but without pretensions. It's got a positive vibe to it and makes you feel welcome. I ordered the Smoked Gouda Chicken Pasta ($26). This is pan seared chicken, bacon, asparagus, portobello mushrooms, and a smoked Gouda cream. I didn't like the mushrooms, however once I moved the mushroom strips aside the meal was splendid. I highly enjoyed it. I didn't at first think the portion size was very big, but I was satisfied afterwards. The person I was with got the same thing and highly enjoyed the meal including the mushrooms. The service was very friendly and helpful. Didn't understand the wine menu, but went to ask in a cheerful manner. Overall a 4 and a half star review. I have no real complaints or issues so I'll round up to a full 5 stars. Would I return? If I was in the area, I would absolutely come back.

    French onion soup 8.5/10

Driving home from traverse city this was one of the better rated restaurants on our way. But I gotta say, skip it and go elsewhere. Olive Garden would of been better or any other chain restaurant. We were a larger group and got seated right away...place was pretty empty. Food was not good at all!!!! For the prices they got, absolutely not! I got the cod, it was soggy, and way over cooked. Coleslaw was old, as the cabbage has already changed its original color. The fish itself was chewy and very tough. The fries that came with it were okay...but the menu said they were supposed to be truffle fries...nope they were just regular fries no truffle flavored to be detected whatsoever. The chicken pasta was okay but very very heavy sauce, and add in the bacon it was just too heavy. Calamari were okay as well and so was the French onion soup. Probably the only things that id recommend if you decide to go here. The crispy chicken sandwich was crazy!!! Sauces dripping all over the plate the buns were literally breaking apart because they got so soggy from the sauces. The bbq and honey combo were wayyyy too much, too sweet, too much sauce and overall just didn't work together at all. Maybe get the sauces in the side but wow way over dressed with sauces. The ribs were possibly the driest ribs to exist! I'm sorry just no! Don't go here, find something better. I'll never return that's for sure.

Server Hannah was pure joy and very attentive ! Food and drinks are always dependable. Steak salad and house fries were the star of this meal! Burgers not pictured.

Bread with finger indents showing how greasy it was. I could have squeezed this bread and it would have dripped.

The food was good but the bread was so butter soaked that it was soggy on my 1/2 sandwich. I asked if I could have a different bottom of bread and they said it would be $3 more. I declined and left my soggy bread there. It really was gross. service was great until then. ambiance was fine. Left disappointed and surprised at the charge for a 1/4 piece of bread.

We went here for Traverse City Restaurant Week and saw McGee's 72 menu that captured us instantly! By far my favorite dish was the Ahi Tuna. The soup was OK. I'm not a dessert person but did enjoy both on the menu. Probably wouldn't get it again.

The host stand stated "please wait to be seated". So we did in the view of one of the workers. We stood there for 5 minutes until we walked away debating on whether or not we should eat here as we had read the reviews and didn't know if we should risk it or not (having a bad experience that is). We decided to go back and give it a chance. After standing and waiting for an additional minute, the blondish bartender whom was pretty snappy told us to take a seat wherever and a server would be over. We decided to go outside as the view of the golf course is beautiful! We waited 10 minutes until what seemed to be a food runner brought us waters and told us as well "your server will be right with you". We waited an additional 5 minutes and what I guess was our server came over and only said "you ready to order???". This was the only time I had seen her the rest of our visit as the food runner seemed to do all the work for her afterwards. The food was fantastic, so for the food quality and views of the course, I give it 1 star for each. Everything else was absolutely horrendous. This place has potential and I'm so surprised management does not care about the service being provided at such a nice Resort and Spa, and pristine golf course. I would recommend anything other than this restaurant while you are in the area unless you have a lot of extra time on your hands to not be taken care of.

That being picky though, the place feels welcoming and is brightly lit and feels well cared for. I ordered the Pot Roast ($20). It's described as slow roasted with carrots and onions and mashed potatoes. It was fantastic. The meat was tender and delicious. the gravy was perfect without overpowering. The carrots and onions were a great compliment. Plus the real mashed potatoes were made to perfection. Smooth, yet still had the potatoness to the texture. The taste was one of the better mashed potatoes I've had in TC. I don't know what they do th their TC Cherry Coke, but it is spectacular. Lastly for dessert I got their Lava Cake ($7), it was fine, but disappointing after such a great meal. I don't know if it was from frozen or what. However the texture was a little off andvthe taste was only okay. I wouldn't get it again. The service was very friendly and super helpful. Overall a 4 1/2 star review. Since I have to round, I'm going to forgive the dessert and give a full 5 stars. Would I return? Absolutely. Especially if I'm craving Pot Roast.
