I was very pleased with this experience! The interior is classy and pleasant. I found every course to be fantastic! I ordered steak and was disappointed that they didn't have A1. Then I took the first bite! Pure heaven! Service was polite with only a few snafus If I lived nearby this would be my regular destination!

Everything was good here! The sauce on the veal meatloaf is incredible and the onion rings were delicious! Definitely a bit pricey for pretty standard food but worth a try! We sat in the bar area and the server was very attentive! Lots of different seating options here. If I went back I would love to try different menu items.

Y U M. Fantastic meal, really neat menu - unique offerings that you don't see everyday and high quality food. Our server was so sweet, I wish I could remember her name but she was the epitome of hospitality! We split the Bacon Wrapped Shrimp and Risotto Bites. MMM. Great sauces that paired with each. I absolutely loved my Short Rib Stroganoff - delicious red wine cream sauce, mushrooms, and plenty of Short Rib chunks. It was hard to decide what to order with all of the interesting offerings. Will be back!

The atmosphere here is upscale, but without pretensions. It's got a positive vibe to it and makes you feel welcome. I ordered the Smoked Gouda Chicken Pasta ($26). This is pan seared chicken, bacon, asparagus, portobello mushrooms, and a smoked Gouda cream. I didn't like the mushrooms, however once I moved the mushroom strips aside the meal was splendid. I highly enjoyed it. I didn't at first think the portion size was very big, but I was satisfied afterwards. The person I was with got the same thing and highly enjoyed the meal including the mushrooms. The service was very friendly and helpful. Didn't understand the wine menu, but went to ask in a cheerful manner. Overall a 4 and a half star review. I have no real complaints or issues so I'll round up to a full 5 stars. Would I return? If I was in the area, I would absolutely come back.

Driving home from traverse city this was one of the better rated restaurants on our way. But I gotta say, skip it and go elsewhere. Olive Garden would of been better or any other chain restaurant. We were a larger group and got seated right away...place was pretty empty. Food was not good at all!!!! For the prices they got, absolutely not! I got the cod, it was soggy, and way over cooked. Coleslaw was old, as the cabbage has already changed its original color. The fish itself was chewy and very tough. The fries that came with it were okay...but the menu said they were supposed to be truffle fries...nope they were just regular fries no truffle flavored to be detected whatsoever. The chicken pasta was okay but very very heavy sauce, and add in the bacon it was just too heavy. Calamari were okay as well and so was the French onion soup. Probably the only things that id recommend if you decide to go here. The crispy chicken sandwich was crazy!!! Sauces dripping all over the plate the buns were literally breaking apart because they got so soggy from the sauces. The bbq and honey combo were wayyyy too much, too sweet, too much sauce and overall just didn't work together at all. Maybe get the sauces in the side but wow way over dressed with sauces. The ribs were possibly the driest ribs to exist! I'm sorry just no! Don't go here, find something better. I'll never return that's for sure.

Server Hannah was pure joy and very attentive ! Food and drinks are always dependable. Steak salad and house fries were the star of this meal! Burgers not pictured.

Bread with finger indents showing how greasy it was. I could have squeezed this bread and it would have dripped.

The food was good but the bread was so butter soaked that it was soggy on my 1/2 sandwich. I asked if I could have a different bottom of bread and they said it would be $3 more. I declined and left my soggy bread there. It really was gross. service was great until then. ambiance was fine. Left disappointed and surprised at the charge for a 1/4 piece of bread.

We went here for Traverse City Restaurant Week and saw McGee's 72 menu that captured us instantly! By far my favorite dish was the Ahi Tuna. The soup was OK. I'm not a dessert person but did enjoy both on the menu. Probably wouldn't get it again.

Our servers Meg and Emma were incredible 2. Ambiance. Overlooking the golf course and the bay, the view at sunset was majestic. Combined with how elegant the interior setting was, total A+. 3. Drinks. Good cocktails and a fantastic Gin and Tonic ( not pictured here-it was so good I just bypassed the pics asap lol). 4. Caesar Salad: very crisp and fresh romaine with fantastic anchovies and these cheese crisps that were so very tasty. 5. Duck. Perfect taste, texture, with a tomato jus and a purée of parsnip underneath that was fantastic. 6. Sweet potato beignets. Oh...my...God! This is an appetizer but could/should be a dessert. So sweet and served with bacon jam. Amazing! 7. Pear and salted caramel layer cake. Wow! My wife and I highly enjoyed this. It's a pear compote with a spiced cake in the middle. Well worth it and definitely a place we will come back to when we are back in Traverse City. Very highly recommended.

I sent it back the first time, the waitress never offered anything while I waited for my second steak... so my whole family was able to finish their meal before I got mine. No extra bread.. no soup... no salad... just hungry. Had to eat all my sides without my steak. Honestly I should've asked for the quality of the steak. Definitely was something under Prime cut. $12 kids butter parm noodle... came in a tiny soup bowl. Barely enough Parmesan to even see. So tasteless. Are you serious? At least salt the water. This was probably the worst of it. I got bamboozdled on a pasta dish I could've easily made at home for $1. Sides- The shiitake mushrooms were an absolute disgrace. They were literally so tasteless and dry! Roasted with no herbs, seasoning or allium. Potato Pavé was good. We ordered 2. It's definitely not a "shareable" size side. Come for the cocktails and view. Not for the food.

That being picky though, the place feels welcoming and is brightly lit and feels well cared for. I ordered the Pot Roast ($20). It's described as slow roasted with carrots and onions and mashed potatoes. It was fantastic. The meat was tender and delicious. the gravy was perfect without overpowering. The carrots and onions were a great compliment. Plus the real mashed potatoes were made to perfection. Smooth, yet still had the potatoness to the texture. The taste was one of the better mashed potatoes I've had in TC. I don't know what they do th their TC Cherry Coke, but it is spectacular. Lastly for dessert I got their Lava Cake ($7), it was fine, but disappointing after such a great meal. I don't know if it was from frozen or what. However the texture was a little off andvthe taste was only okay. I wouldn't get it again. The service was very friendly and super helpful. Overall a 4 1/2 star review. Since I have to round, I'm going to forgive the dessert and give a full 5 stars. Would I return? Absolutely. Especially if I'm craving Pot Roast.

The service was attentive and easygoing, and everything we had was amazing. I had the steak tips, and normally a dish like this isn't cooked to a preferred temperature since you're dealing with random chunks of meat, which can make it tough to get a consistent temp. But they hooked me up and cooked them as rare as they could. They came out tender and delicious . They were staying at Turtle Creek Casino, and we planned to meet for dinner at Bourbon 72. My wife and I have eaten at Bourbon 72 before, and the food and service have always been excellent. Kasey, the supervisor, went above and beyond to make sure we were seated and taken care of. Even though they were short-staffed and it was near closing time, Kasey personally seated us, took our drink and food orders, and made us feel genuinely welcome. After the long and difficult trip my family had made, that kindness and extra effort meant more to us than Kasey probably realized. Kasey, you are a big part of the reason we keep coming back to Bourbon 72.
