If I could give this place a negative negative zero I would. Food and service absolutely horrid! Buyer beware .,,under any circumstance DO NOT waste any minute, hour of your life at this restaurant! Waited 2 hours for our table ...at the bar told we could only have a party of 3 (we had a party of 4 so my husband had to wait outside)...only to see the same waitress pull up a chair to accommodate another party of 4...,Really?? finally seated...,took 30 minutes for order to be taken only to have waitress come back twice and advise our simple basic drinks (Stella & Oberon) were unavailable ..,hour goes by actually order never taken...we just left...Buyer Beware....horrible horrible horrible!!! Came in for a late dinner to kick off a girls weekend. The ambiance was laid back and the service was helpful and attentive. Happy hour bar pricing on drinks and house wines and very reasonable pricing for food was a big plus. Everyone got something different and each dish received rave reviews. Trying to support local food service during the pandemic, we selected McGees on the recommendation of our neighbor. First time around the food (salmon) was delicious, but there was a mix-up with payment, which should have been submitted over the phone before the pickup. When informed, management comped the meal and invited us for another go, which we readily accepted. Once again, the food was fabulous, social distancing was easy to observe during pickup, and staff was courteous and efficient. read more

To start everything off right we had a great server. Vicky was extremely knowledgeable about the menu which is refreshing. The food was fantastic! We had the risotto tater tots and the boneless wings to start. The tots were good and the wings were special. The fried chicken had great flavor depth and was cooked perfectly. My husband and I along with another couple stopped here for lunch on our weekend in tc. Server was very nice but service was super slow the prices are on the higher side but when I saw the proportions I was happy plenty of food and I couldn't eat it all. But with that said. I didn't want to eat it at all. I ordered the coconut shrimp risotto and French onion soup. Highly recommend you don't order this. My husband ordered the ribeye steak dinner. Horrible food and service, especially for the price they charge! The waitress never came to check on us when we ate the food, and came to ask if we need anything after waiting for her for a while. She had a trainee that day (09/17/16), but someone should of stop by and asked if we need anything. Bringing a $27 New York strip and don't ask if I need a BBQ sauce, she has poor knowledge of food. The utensils were dirty with heavy water spots. I will never go back to this restaurant for sure! read more

Excellent food and atmosphere and reasonable prices. My only issue was with the attitude/service. We went last Sunday and sat at the bar. The bartender starting chatting with some locals about her kids and we waited more than five minutes, and then finally had to interrupt her conversation and ask if we could place our order. After that she had real attitude, like we were being rude for wanting to order food. When our food came she plunked it down and said she'd get our bill to us right away so we could get out of there. Well, excuse us. I didn't think there was any call for that kind of attitude when all we wanted to do was order food in a timely manner. The food, however, was excellent. My family has Been visiting TC every summer for over 10 years. We have enjoyed all the delicious restaurants in town. Now that we have permanently located to the area, we find ourselves coming here over and over. The service and atmosphere are so friendly, and the food is ALWAYS great. The food was delicious, so please understand my low rating stems from the service. After waiting 45 minutes for our food, my filet was extremely over-cooked. When I showed my server my filets, she did agree that they were over-cooked, and she even acknowledged that we'd already waited for 45 minutes. She then said it was because of parties in the back being pushed forward. No, fix my food as the order is placed in the system. I shouldn't have to switch because of other parties being purposely put before me and my party. They did fix it; however, this added more wait time to my experience. My party had finished their food by the time my new plate arrived. The filets on the second plate were actually a smaller cut than the first. The second time, my filets were cooked beautifully, and again, the flavors were amazing. To me though, the service is just as important, and because of the service received here, I won't be back. read more

My wife and I went out for our anniversary dinner last night. We decided to try McGee's72. We were rushed through ordering by the rudest server I've ever come across. She had chicken with Gouda and pasta and enjoyed it. I had the veal meatloaf and the server brought it out with his attitude and apologized because there were no onion rings on top. It was 2 slices of their veal meatloaf on top of mashed potatoes one was very over cooked the other was on top for everyone to see. He brought 2 lousy onion rings over on a plate and just slid them on a plate by me halfway though our meal. He checked on us once but seemed bothered. Never asked us if we needed anything else or dessert and just gave us our check. We will never be back. read more

I went to McGee's with high expectations. I've always been curious about the cuisine that is offered there, so tonight, the last night of 2018 restaurant week, we decided to go. Our waitress was nice at first, we both ordered our first course, I got scallops, while the other got the pork. We also ordered our main entree while the waitress was there, to make sure that we wouldn't have to wait too long in between our dishes. Once the food came to the table, after waiting 20 minutes, the food was fairly good, great flavors, but a little over cooked for both dishes. After finishing our starters, we waited about 30 minutes before our dirty plates were cleared (not by our waitress, might I add). After about 5 minutes, our waitress stopped by, and asked if we had even gotten our first course. We replied yes, and that we have been waiting to receive our entree. She went and got our entrees. Our entrees were good, although they were not hot, telling me that they had been sitting for a while before being delivered. After finishing our entrees, we waited another 20 minutes before our dirty plates were removed. By this time, all of the tables that had been seated after us, had been served and were already leaving. We finally ordered dessert, and waited almost 20 minutes for that to arrive at the table. The desserts were great! On a busy night, this would even be a long time in between courses, our waitress was not busy, she just was not attentive at all. I would like to say that I would go back to McGee's, but I'm not sure I would after this miserably horrible service that we received. read more

I can see why this place is #1. Passing through on M-72, we stopped for a quick lunch and were very impressed with the decor and cheerful hostess. She gave us a choice between the bar area and main dining room. We opted for a booth in the bar and enjoyed watching tv and the locals arrive for lunch. Excellent lunch menu, including an express lunch option for $8. We went whole hog - blue cheese crusted burger with crisp fries, spinach salad with tender chicken, candied walnuts, goat cheese crumbles - oh my! Great service. We'll be back. read more

Came to the happy hour tonight. A nice menu including boneless wings, nachos, burger and bruschetta. Specials on a few beer pints too (bud light, PBR, Miller Lite for $2.50, well drinks and domestic bottles for $3 and house wine for $5.50. One of the greatest places to eat when your in TC, staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is amazing. Food may be on the pricy side but everything is delicious. While your at McGees definitely try the margarita flatbread and the grilled cheese (only if you like creamy cheeses) read more

Good eats and great relaxing atmosphere. The restaurant is located on a beautiful well kept golf course. Weather permitting, recommend the covered deck seating. It's a very relaxing beautiful setting to watch the sunset. My dining partner had the chicken parm, which she liked and the sample I tried was pretty good. I had the boneless BBQ wings...too much sauce and too much breading with very little meat. They have steaks and salads on the menu and from I could see of them at the other tables, they were getting gobbled up. The beer is cold and a really good wine selection. I've been twice now, I have only eaten off the bar menu. You can get a burger that is delicious! for $7.00 and an order of most appetizers is enough for 2-3 people to share. So you can eat relatively inexpensive if you sit in the bar area and order off the bar menu. I have not eaten in the regular restaurant or ordered off that menu, it's pretty fancy and a little high priced. read more
