A friendly Irish pub in Manhattan. After a long days work I was hoping for some cider. They had only one which was angry orchard on tap. And another bottled one. I was happy with angry orchard on tap although I wish they had more selection.

Couldn't resist stopping in to McGee's pub which was the inspiration for McClaren's in How I Met Your Mother. There's a great beer and specialty cocktails. Traditional pub menu and great atmosphere. It's close to Central Park and we went to see Colbert which was around the corner.

My friend and I wanted to eat here before seeing The Great Gatsby, and I'm pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. I got the BBQ Grilled Chicken sandwich and highly recommend it. Service was fast, there were plenty of tables and it wasn't too loud. There's a nice bar area to sit at as well if you're just coming for drinks.

Loved visiting McGee's Pub. The atmosphere feels warm, lively, and full of character. Very cool place for fans of the TV show How I Met Your Mother, since this pub inspired the bar from the series. Beer was great, staff was friendly, and the whole place had that classic New York pub feeling. Definitely worth stopping by.

This pub so often featured in the sitcom How I Met Your Mother, was a must stop visit for my daughter who is a fan of the sitcom show. Upon entry, you will see lots of memorabilia all over the walls from the show. We decided to sit for a break & order some appetizers and drinks. We opted for 2 orders of cheesy potatoes as everything else was pretty pricey & we weren't super hungry. Our server was okay, & checked up on us occasionally. We were seated right by the front door, and would constantly see people & fans of the show coming in & out the pub to get photos of the place. Our total for 2 appetizers and 3 drinks was a staggering $52! Little did we know, that they charge for refills! I feel this should be mentioned beforehand, otherwise we would've opted for ice water. I know NYC is on the pricier side, but this is just over the top!!! It was a fun experience being where the show was filmed and sitting next to the booth where the film crew sat, but this was just way too pricey for bar food, and not that tasty. Not sure I'd call it a tourist trap as there seemed to be many locals in here, but be prepared for the hefty bill if you decide to visit.

If you're "How I Met Your Mother" fan, you've got to come here. The shows creators frequented this pub and drew inspiration while designing McLaren's. The pub has a few drinks inspired by the show. We ordered the pineapple incident and wait for it cocktails. Both were okay. For dinner, we ordered penne a la vodka, corned beef ruben, and old-fashioned chicken pot pie. The serving size is generous! The pie itself can easily be shared by 2 people. The vibe is fun! Our server was ever smiling and talking, and we had a good time with her. I had reserved a table for us on Yelp, but I think walk-ins are acceptable too. Do visit.

We came by for a quick drink after dinner. Our friend wanted to check out the HIMYM bar! They were great and accommodating of our slightly larger group! Fun HIMYM themed drinks. Or just a nice plave for a beer. Fun vibes!

Surprisedly, this place wasn't busy when I visited during the night. I made a reservation, but luckily it was not crowded at all. I didn't watch HIMYM but I was told that the bar does not look like the show. I believe the show is just inspired by the bar. I wished the bartender checked up or even looked at our direction. The bar was not really crowded, but we barely got checked up on. We ordered iced chocolate roll and a moscule mule. The iced chocolate roll consisted of patron xo cafe and root beer. Both of the drinks tasted great. I barely tasted the alcohol which I usually prefer. This place is a chill place to hang at, but I don't think I'll be coming here again.

Went to the city to find the place that inspired McLarens on how I met your mother. Love pictures on the wall and the HIMYM inspired drinks. I had the mcLarens burger. It's a regular burger served with fires and the Barney Blackout (llegal mezcal, triple sec and pineapple juice.

Was looking for a bar with TVs. Didnt know it was the bar that apparently appeared in HIMYM. the service was super fast and the bartender was Irish so it felt like an authentic pub. Music selection was great.

Unfortunately, my experience here didn't meet my expectations. The customer service should and could be much, much better. I'm a big, big, BIG fan of HIMYM, and I was visiting NYC from California and was excited to visit here. I walked in and they sent me upstairs, but I was empty, so I decided to come back down and sit at the main bar. No one approached me at first. After a few minutes, this guy behind the bar showed up, and when I smiled at him, he said, "Hi, can I see a menu, please?" He just said he worked upstairs and left. Didn't call anyone else either. I returned to use the restroom, came back down, and sat on the other side of the bar. Then the female bartender gave me the QR code to scan and look at the menus. She was ok, but not super friendly like you would expect. I ordered the sweet Pineapple incident and the three sliders with fries. Average food. Overpriced in my opinion. She also offered me a complimentary drink since she made one by mistake, and I didn't wanna mix two different kinds of alcohol, so I stuck with my pineapple incident. Yes, there are posters of the cast all around but I guess any bar can hang those pictures and references to the show. I suggest to just stop by, walk inside, take a few pictures inside and leave ro go get dinner / lunch and drinks somewhere else.

Stopped here later after a show because we were hungry. The writers for How I met your mother used to come here a lot when they were working on the show. The bar on the show is loosely based on it. There are a few drinks inspired by the show as well. They have their own beer as well as some others. We had the sliders (both chicken and burgers) and they were quite tasty. Perfect late night snack. Most of the staff were too young to even know anything about the show (which shows that we are getting old), but it was quite fun.

The bar was decorated for Christmas, which added a festive touch. They have a lot of How I Met Your Mother memorabilia around the place, but overall, it felt underwhelming. We were seated by the women's bathroom, which only had a single stall and constantly had a line. It was an awkward spot to hold a conversation with people hovering near our table the entire time. The service was slow--it took so long to take our order that we only had time for two drinks before leaving. We tried the Wait For It... ($12.00) and Barney's Blackout ($13.00), but neither were particularly strong or well-crafted. It's worth a visit once to check out the bar that inspired HIMYM, but I wouldn't go in with high expectations.

Only reason to go is if you're a fan of HIMYM. Food is ok, would be enough to just pop in for a quick beer along the way to somewhere else.

Service from the bartender was great. I ordered the fish and chips and a Bloody Mary. Everything was great up till then. Unfortunately, the food was a disappointment. Maybe it was a deep fat fryer thing, but I respectfully suggest the cook be given a little additional training. The fish batter was hard on the outside, and the fish was completely mushy on the inside. Like, gray mush. The fries were lukewarm. The mushy peas and the tartar sauce were served in little covered plastic disposable containers. I'm not a fan of that, but I get it is convenient. I truly wanted to like this place, and except for my one experience with the food, I would certainly return. People were having fun, and I did as well. I believe if they become a little more attentive in the kitchen, this place is a five star pub.
