This place is so cute! It's on the Winsted Green, and has a few spots around the building but most are reserved for a nearby bank. You'll probably be parallel parking. I went there for 2025 Winsted Restaurant Week. It is cash only, so check the menu ahead of time. The food came in amazing portions - my appetizers had six potatos skins and six chicken wings - they have more than buffalo. My burger looked like the bun split but fit well on the roll, and was juicy and perfectly cooked medium well. The close of the meal, NY style cheesecake, had chocolate drizzled on and was so smooth. I'm glad I saved my chips for later for cheesecake in the moment. The seating was tables and booths, and large single bathroom although a very low toilet.

Was in the Winsted area at Noon today, so stopped at McGrane's on the Green for a lunch take-out. Went in a bit blind, signs in front indicated the place was either a diner or a sandwich shop. Or a pizza joint. Whatever, I was hungry and I was about to find out what the story was. Ordered the Cajun Turkey Melt sandwich w/ sweet potato fries. Meal came out after a short wait, was $7.95 plus tax. While I was waiting, noticed that McGrane's had a Boston-Irish theme to it (but I didn't hold that against them, even though I am a Yankees' fan). Hit the road with my food and ate it overlooking a nearby lake. The Cajun Turkey Melt was very tasty, meat had the right amount of spice, bread was toasted perfectly. I would certainly drop in again if I'm in the area.

The food was decent enough but definitrly not worth having to listen to Fox News the entire meal. Never again.

Shawna the manager goes above and beyond to make sure that guests are always happy. Food is amazing! Always reliable and amazing! Happy Hour has great small bites and a great happy hour drink menu! There were plants everywhere in the dining space, just didn't match up. (The pendant lights were nice but the mismatch could have looked artistic but instead just looked mismatched). Kitchen looked not well kept and disorganized. Our wait staff was very informal and not consistent, had to ask for silverware when salad was served. When pizza came had to replace silverware because when they removed salad bowls took the silverware. Salad was good, but was surprised the salad dressing came out in take out containers since we were at a sit down dinner. It felt like we were at a take out place. We ordered the pizza special butternut squash, onions, bacon and cheese, didn't realize it was going to be a white pizza, the toppings were disproportionate, heavy on bacon (was too salty), after the first bite not so great.

The cheap add-ons shouldn't cost as much as the actual entrée. Nothing here is homemade--everything is clearly purchased in bulk from Costco (Kirkland brand) and Restaurant Depot. If you're expecting authentic, scratch-made kielbasa or pierogies, look elsewhere. To make matters worse, they shortcut the cooking by deep-frying the bacon and home fries before finishing them on the grill, leaving the food completely oversaturated with grease. Heads up for future customers: They are also cash-only

You will need to ask. My major bugaboo is that the menu is pretty unclear. If you order a veggie omelette you might think it comes with at least some veggies in it. Apparently the $9.99 is the base price for just the eggs, and each item is added for $0.99 each. So when we ordered we were asked if we want all the veggies, it was unclear that this meant do you want to add $10 worth of extra items to the omelette. (Cheese is somehow extra too). The food was fine. Not worth $38 for eggs, toast homefries and the aforementioned omelette. So this is a once and done for us. And yes as others have said this is a cash only place.

I feel the need to leave this review here now just in case I forget to leave a actual proper long review. This is our third time, a humble looking joint so we come here always just expecting it's going to be " meh". But we keep coming back, collecting calories around our waist because everything is so good here! Service - always awesome. Everyone here looks like they work cohesively, everyone is smiling working hard . Coffees always refilled. Food- fantastic, always fresh, on point. This time I got an omelette with tomatoes and this is the first time I had an omelet where the tomatoes don't get mushy. Their hash browns are also amazing! ... while we like the shredded we LOVE the fried- like mini French fries. While all of their proteins are awesome - their turkey bacon deserves a special shout out because it often misses the mark at most places.. but not here . And then there are the little things - clean bathrooms, condiments on the table are clean and not sticky or gross !! Anyway, come here.
