Had this exchange over the car over 3 day period, carfax said nothing about codes etc. standard oil changes tires, tire rotations. Until previous owner didn't do recall., initially got there went for a drive and it was just chugging, they call it a "shudder". I should have just walked away. The three times it chugged, the sales guys says, it's been sitting for a while it will do that. Sorry Ryan they just do not do that. Honda bulletin is to drain and refill 3 TIMES, flash ECM to new shifting points. If that doesn't work go to the next bulletin. WELL, that's where we are at. There were several codes deleted prior to me getting the car home and to our service provider, trying my best as a man with two kids to give my hard working deserving selfless fiancés a car for back and forth to work at its looking mime. $4000-$8000.) a good think we have full coverage with GAP!!!! So torqe inverter install is the route we must take . $25-$2800 on top of the HIGH, highest of the high 13,999 we paid thinkin 90,000 miles 1 owner. I give this place and absolute zero for hiding every background knowledge of this car, the knowing that it suffered, and makes me minder how many more Kia's and other name brand vehicle sales places that do. I typically expect to be taken advantage of at dealerships, so I'm usually already on edge when I arrive. This dealership solidified that expectation for me. I purchased a Honda from this dealer on 10/9. Before buying, I noticed that the AC was serviced for a leak immediately after the previous owner sold the car, so I called the previous owner's Honda dealership to ask if there were any ongoing issues that the owner declined. They said the owner declined a suction hose. After getting a quote from a local Honda dealer, I learned that this fix is $700-$800. Going in to the dealer knowing this, I expected them to have already replaced the part or be willing to negotiate the price. Wanting to not go through this again at another dealership, I go through with the purchase to find out after signing all the paperwork that the decal they said they'd take of "couldn't" be removed. They then knowingly locked my car in their lot overnight while I took the new car home less than 10 mins away, leaving a voicemail. I arrived alone and said I drove myself - so obviously I'd need to come back for my other car. The only good experience I had was with the finance guy. So I guess they've got that going for them. People negotiate prices on cars that have nothing knowingly wrong with them - it comes with selling used cars. If the sales manager gets that angry when they're offered a counter offer then they probably shouldn't be in this business. read more

And then they added all these extra charges $20000 more than the cost of the vehicle and then they were going to charge me interest for all those extra costs too. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. THEY ARE SCAMMERS AND LIARS . I purchased a vehicle which had gaps on the front hood but i was told that this is normal gap. Then I had the deal basically set in place that they were going to give me the car for xxx amount plus the 4.99% interest for 48 months. They knew they mest up by afgreeing to the everything but still went ahead and took my info and credit app. Then the sales rep manager comes to me and tells me i can do either or. Either have the price of the car or do 4.99% apr. I told them that this is not what i was told and after being here for 2+hrs your telling me this. I told them im wouldn't been interested if this was told to me ahead of time. After going back and forth. I told them i would do $250 more from the price given to me if i can get that plus the 4.99 interested rate financing. They agreed.... after waiting 45 min for the finance person. We went in and the finance guy was way too chaty for some reason. I was not even given a price break down sheet. Just sogned bunch of online papers via Ipad. Then before the last paper i was going to sign. Everything was done and i took the car home. I wasnt sure how much my monthly payment was so i went to my car and grabbed the envelope the finance guy gave me. There was nothing in there beside a 5k down payment slip. I called the salesrep and asked him to send me the price breakdown sheet. Long behold when i got the email with the price breakdown What do i see? I see 5.99% interest rat instead of 4.99. I called the sales rep immediately and he told him about it. He said he will have the finance guy fix that issue. I know its only hundred bucks but its the principle what we agreed on. I even paid extra $250 from the price we agreed on initially what we agreed on. Few weeks past and not calls or any sort of communication was done to resolve the issue. Mind you this is in December and my work is busy. I just got fed up and said forget it. NOW COMES PART 2....while purchasing the car i was told by the sales rep that they do refferal bonus for any cistomer i refer to them and they end up buy or lease a car. I had one of my friend lease a Kia Carnival and the sales rep told me i would get a $100 refferal check for that deal...move forward a month.. i got msg from the sales rep that hes ben fired and goodluck getting you refferal money from these crooks(the dealership). I call the dealership and spoke with DANIEL, who told me that he will speak with the rep and get back to me....fast forward next week....as i assumed, no call from them. So i end up calling them and speaking with Daniel (Manager) again. He stayed past closing til 9:30 pm on Thursday night. We bought a car on Saturday morning. He was able to get her a great car at a price she could afford. I made my first Kia purchase at this dealership and it is a terrible representation of the brand and Kia family. Everything about this dealership and it's employees are crooked. I would highly recommend visiting another location or purchasing from another manufacturer altogether. First and foremost my salesman Humam Totonchi blatantly lied and promised several deals that were walked back once I got to finance. I should have left at that point because I was clearly bait and switched. Once I finally worked out a deal I was asked to come back in a week to complete a survey and do a redelivery. Humam claimed this was a check-in to answer any questions I had about the vehicle. During this visit he asked for my phone claiming he needed a code emailed to me by Kia. He used this as an opportunity to complete a feedback survey sent to me by Kia fraudulently without my permission which was his true motive all along. Upon realizing that Humam fraudulently completed a survey on my device without my consent I reached out to the sales manager Jeff. Unfortunately my experience with Jeff wasnt any better. As an act of good faith Jeff promised to swap the Kia emblems on my car. I called Jeff weekly and he continuously blew me off, gave me conflicting information and rarely returned calls. Jeff, the sales manager is just as untrustworthy as his salesmen from my experience. Jeff would habitually make false promises and backtrack on information he gave. It took FOUR MONTHS for Jeff to get the Kia emblems he promised installed on my car and it would have taken longer if I wasn't chasing him down due to his lack of communication. McGrath Arlington Kia lacks quality service in all areas. In the short time of owning my first Kia vehicle I have been lied and mislead by both the salesmen and sales manager. Service appointments are inconvenient and always take away longer than quoted. Any time estimate they give you add 1.5 hours to it. I've only been to this dealership for a car wash and a cleaning both times took way longer than expected. I'm typing this review now from their service lounge and I'm currently 2.5 hours into an appointment that was only supposed to take 40 mins. Believe all the negative reviews. Please go elsewhere. Traveled 3.5 hours to get a car they were "holding" for me only to see a family buying it when I walked in. I was LIVID. They offered me a similar car but it was fresh on the lot and they had to "clean it up and get it certified". But I was told it was the same price as the other car. ($15k) Finance guy goes through paperwork so fast you miss the fact that they charged me an extra $3500 to certify it. We were an hour past close and I just signed the paperwork like an idiot. One guy did answer and told me someone in sales would call back. They didn't. I have tried reaching out to them for service help, and I get no response. Half the time I can't get someone on the phone, the other half of the time, they never call me back. If there was an opportunity for no stars, that is how I'd rate them. Whenever I go in there, they talk down to me. Completely rude and unprofessional. Buyer beware, the way they do business is scammy, they try their best to hide the breakdown of the costs when you're trying to buy a vehicle. The people that greet you work as a middle man who keeps going back and forth to their manager when negotiating a price which is always just a number with no details. I went in for a test drive for a used vehicle which was listed for $16,900 when it was time to get a final price it was almost $25,000 this included a protection service(includes maintenance for a year and other items...) they try to force you to buy and when you say you don't want it they reduce the price of it but refuse to remove it all. When I asked for the breakdown of all the costs (tax + title + registration etc..) they refuse to give it to you, why I don't know. No loaner car and they wouldn't provide us a rental car. But I can rent my own car and Maybe Kia will provide my money back. While my car was in the shop for the oil change....: 6 days later I parked my vehicle the check oil light came on , thought to myself. How is that possible as I just got an oil change about six days ago. Woke up the night to a puddle under my vehicle, huge puddle. Checked the dipstick and lo and behold, no oil showing on the dipstick, mind you this is on Sunday Monday morning today I walked to the dealership since it's down the street from me. They had a mechanic follow me back home.. he checked and seen that the filter or something was cracked. He put an qt of oil in the car to drive it about 2 blocks back fo the dealership. First thing out of the manager mouth. We didn't do it!!!! It was just here 6 days ago for an oil change. My butt didn't break it. Turns to find out it's the oil filter housing l, which is cause by 1. Oil or 2. Someone tightened it too tight meaning they probably used a handrail instead of their hand.. so who fault would it be!!! I took my Kia Soul in for 2 recall notice repairs 2 weeks ago. Took 3 hours. When done, I drove back home (about 25 miles) and my engine light came on. One of the warnings in the notices was the engine light. Had to do with a software update, they told me. I called them to find out what was up. I called, and called and called, sometimes twice a day, for 2 weeks. I could never get through to the service department and left messages, both voicemail and with an operator, multiple times. They have never called back. They have both my cell and my business number. It's a shame that my local Kia dealer, in Lincolnwood, no longer has a service department. Guess I have to drive all the way to the south side now for any recall work. BTW: Love my Kia. Car is great. This dealership is crap. read more

McGrath will try and pry every last dollar you have from your hands in any unethical way imaginable. They often won't honor internet prices once you get into into the store. You are hit with mandatory, unnecessary, and hidden fees at every turn. I chose to walk away from a Telluride purchase from these folks when I saw the absurd fees on the windows, which are included in this review, and went with a Palisade purchase where the dealer was more reasonable on pricing a little over MSRP and then did not try to charge 20 percent more, or $10,000 in "mandatory", often hidden, fees. Yes. I was told these fees were mandatory. I understand that the inventory shortage is creating difficulty but that doesn't absolve a firm from being upfront and honest about its fees and prices. An ethics class should be required for the leadership of this organization. And then when you read the the responses from the manager to other people's reviews here in yelp, he is petulant and rudely dismissive of genuine customer complaints and then he proceeds to obfuscate the real issue. Buyers be ware...I wish I read the reviews before thinking of buying here. You can see in the negative reviews they never take any accountability and is happening to many people after they've had a moment to actually look at their paperwork. There are several similar stories here and other platforms. If they say there's no market adjustment they are wrong. Anything above MSRP is a market adjustment. Plus they want to add a $2,495 that's "added as soon as they come off the truck" so you can't not not get it. What if I don't want it? There was a fast one pulled on us. Our final number, before tax, title and license, was long way away from MSRSP, even with the added "package". Seems like a market adjustment to me. Also we agreed to more for the trade based other written offers we had and they didn't not accommodate that. They won. This one is going to hurt a while. Confirmed car was available, made appointment, arrived to find car was NOT available but similar one $1,000 more was available. "We will work with you on price," salesman says. Liked that car a lot, started negotiations, then of course they said no wiggle room on price. They quoted me a trade in value, I said it was too low. Said they would offer me more, but the offer actually was low-balled $1,000 due to including bogus "sales tax savings" in the figure.....finally, after lots of back and forth agreed to a deal, with reduced price for "certifying" the used car to extend warranty. Then things got worse. Finance manager tried to sell me $2,500 worth of more warranty coverage. I said NO, and he refused to accept the answer. Paid cash for a car two months ago and still cannot plate the car nor do I have the title in hand. When I contact them I get the same response that I need to contact the state. The state tells me the dealer didn't collect enough sales tax, and sent the paperwork back to McGrath. Nobody will support by contacting the state, GM won't take my calls, girls in office could care less. The car I bought is parked because the temp tag is expired and McGrath won't give me another.
