Overall I had a good experience here. Ray was my salesman and he is highly recommended. He was helpful in terms of finding a part for my car. He printed some purchase options for the part. I had a minor unfortunate situation which took place. I was approved to have a hundred dollars taken off the price. Unfortunately right after this someone expressed interest in purchasing the car. So the GM Rick gave me the option of purchasing the car at full price or giving it up to the other client. It's unfortunate that the offer was rescinded, but I understand their situation. Three people looked at the car before I got there and then three more people expressed interest while I was purchasing the car. I am very happy and extremely grateful I got the car. Their business practices are not proper in that they advertise online in places like cars.com at one price, and then they change the price when the Customer drives out to their dealership. On my particular deal, they priced the car that was listed on Cars.com for $15, 995, which had been declining for 2 months, and then when they presented the initial deal sheet it was listed $3000. more! They said they had to spend a lot on inspections and such. but they wouldn't show any of that detail. They also added bogus additions like finish and stain protectant ($2995) maintenance services ($199), and something else that made no sense for $1500. Of course, I declined all of this and inflated nonsense and pushed on other things to reduce the overall price. Honest consumers SHOULD NOT have to do this. The people seemed nice, but I cannot forgive this deceptive business practice. In fact, I believe the @Illinois Attorney General or any government agency that is responsible for overseeing the auto dealership industry should launch an investigation into Napleton. This is an unacceptable way to run a business. When I told the GM that I would be writing a review about this, his response was that anything less than 4 stars would impact all of the people in the dealership. Again, unacceptable! Your treatment of Customers is the cause of any bonuses to be lost by the employees! It's not proper to try to guilt a Customer into giving a good review, especially when it is not deserved. They had a car listed as $15,9XX I called before I came to see if the car was still there and to see if it was the price listed. I spoke to a Ashley and Ciara. I also asked them about the fees involved such as the $3,000 "Platinum Experience" listed in the fine print. I was reassured this was totally optional and aside from that there would be usual tax and title fees. I took the drive from the south burbs to Arlington Heights. When I get there I didn't see an Ashley or Ciara...just a bunch guys walking around. Strange... but okay. I test drove the car it was nice. I made friendly banter with the salesman, Richmond. We eventually get to the numbers. I had my own financing. They wanted me to pay almost $25,000 for the car! They tried to pressure me to use their financing and put down $3000! No warranty! Except a power train warranty and the 60,000 mile warranty which was null and void because there was over 60,000 miles on the car already. I outright rejected their offer. They asked me for my blank check when they went back to their "managers office" a second time to show him my commitment. When they came back they didn't have my check. I rejected the third offer. I demanded they bring me my check. I was uncomfortable and ready to go. By that time an older guy who kept walking by just happened to hear our conversation chimed in with Richmond. They kept trying to tell me not to worry about my check and continued to try to reason with me. I negotiated them down to almost $20,000. Still no warranty. My daughter was getting fussy. Funny, I still haven't gotten a single call checking in or asking for referrals. they made up my email address and other details instead of checking with me, this added security flags to my credit score and likely caused a lower rating, I also had to correct this for them (due to lack of response) however, I know the person with the same name as me who reached out to let me know he was getting letters with our name for credit, warranty, sales to his email (firstlast@gmail.com) which is not my email and nothing like mine, I had also written it multiple times, amateur mistake but costly one. So my experience began with them in July of this year (I have waited until 10/4/22 to post the review to give them opportunity to make right, correct and apologize, as you can see that didn't happen). So late in July, I was actually shopping for a different car they had in stock, however after driving it I knew it wasn't meant to be, however saw the car im in now and after a quick drive I fell in love with the car. I don't mess around, if I decide I want it ill go all in. Now, the original gentleman who took me on the test drive wasn't allowed to sell me the car, and I wasn't allowed to wait for him to be available, so his coworker essentially stole his sale (which really irked me, he didn't do anything to earn it). As soon as I indicated my conditions and committal to purchase I was told to move to an isolated office in the corner of the building, I arrived just after 2-3pm, beautiful sunny day. Initially the bait and switch scam began, salesman has a worksheet, clearly the starting number was way higher, firstly he states that ill eventually get that number, but they start at the MSRP (3500 higher), after calling bullshit and warning him that I had already told him he would screw up a good deal he told me that "they put a ton of money into these cars and I need to give him time to show me, firstly they have a company do an Ion level cleanse of the car, they open the air vents, replace all filters, steam out every surface, basically reset the car to like new status" upon checking nothing has been cleaned other than a vacuum over the carpet, no air vents, the air filters are filthy, all of the common places to look for signs of a lazy detailer are there. SO clean interior, LIE, didnt happen. Number 2 "we recondition and check every inch of the car for repairs needed because we dont send out unsafe cars, theres no room for safety in this business" I returned after 24 hours due to rotors shaking while braking, turns out, ALL 4 rotors were heavily worn, warped and the front left was cracked, ok, next up pads, front were chewed through the wear indicator, past the pad into the metal plate, rears were no better. I mean, how do you miss the brakes on such an important safety check that you charged me for? ok, next, NONE of the fluids have been changed since it came in, they didnt change the oil, the salesman lied again. I called a SECOND time hours later and set an appointment to come see the vehicle, he reassured me was on the lot. After work while leaving my driveway I called a THIRD time to verify the vehicle was there and he assured me it was because I was driving 1 hour 40 minutes to get there. He said he'd be off work and his manager Jay would handle the sale. Upon arrival an hour forty minutes later this vehicle was not there. Neither was a manager named Jay. The manager on duty was Rick who informed me the vehicle had been sent to a dealership for a repair but knew nothing more. He apologized and insisted he would follow up with me in two days and even give me a video walk around the vehicle. That was ten days ago - never heard a word from him. Horrible experience - horrific sales and follow up. On a positive note, the salesman who was there to inform us the car wasn't on the lot in the first place did send a text two days after it had returned and asked if we were still interested. He at least made an effort and followed up. I expected far more from the manager who initially seemed sympathetic to the situation. Horrible service overall. LIARS!! Can I give less than 1 star? I found a vehicle that I liked here and messaged them through Autotrader. After numerous emails and asking with Ben for a trade in value, to make sure I would not be wasting mine, nor their time by driving 1.5 hours (3 hours round trip!!) to their location in Arlington Heights, they sent me a link to a site that they use to come up with a value. I filled out the information and received an email with a value shortly after. I also received a phone call right away from Tiffany confirming the trade in value of $16,497.30 for my vehicle and she said that they are currently low on inventory, and she was sure that Jay, the manager, would offer me more once I came in. So, on JULY 4th, I made the trip to them to work out a deal on the car that I was interested in and spoke with Angel. He was ok to talk to, but when I got the trade in portion, my trade in value from Jay, dropped to $10,000!!!! "A FAR CRY FROM THE VALUE PROVIDED TO GET ME IN THE DOOR" Then, there was a "market adjustment" fee added to the paperwork of $4,000!!!! For a USED vehicle!!!! For no other reason than to make more money for the dealership. Made an hour + trip to the dealership to check out a specific pre-owned vehicle advertised for $21, 900. Test drove it, liked it and started negotiations. Their first "offer" was almost 9 GRAND over the advertised price ( this included sales tax of approximately $2, 000). $ 330.00 for doc fees; $800 for dealer prep; $1250 for not financing through them; various "mandatory" warranty packages ( one of which was over $1800) that we told them we didn't want, as the vehicle was still covered under manufacturers warranty. I also want to say, the GM Al also went out of his way to help me get approved as well. He and Irfan both called me after I left thinking it wasn't going to work. Where should I start? So I go with my wife to look at and possibly buy a Tesla Model Y. Prior to going my wife was pre-approved for the car through the Capital One Auto Navigator App. So we drove 6 hours to see the car. We even stayed overnight at a hotel to make sure we got to the dealership early. So we get there and talk with salesperson. We test drive the car and it drove nice. On the capital one app, cars.com, and even the napletonofflease website the cars listed for $38,994. We explain that we would like to get the out the door price close to $41000. The salesperson leaves and comes back with an itemized list of charges with the final price. Final price would end of being close to $48000. They wanted to charge over $3000 for a market cost adjustment, $1300 for some xzilon ceramic coating, and a few other weird charges. My wife was then told that they lower the price of the car online to attract customers. Had I known the price of the car wasn't $38994 but was actually $43000 bc out some bs market adjustment and ceramic coating that no one asks for I wouldn't have wasted my time driving so far to look at this vehicle. $43000 before adding sales tax, title, some ev inspection fee, etc. coming out to almost $48000. $9000+ over the online asking price. We started leaving and the salesperson said it's company policy before leaving for us to talk with the manager. I ended up going to the car. My wife stayed in. While I'm the car my wife said the salesperson told her the manager would probably do $42000 otd. Then it was $43000. Then my wife heard the manager say, "she drove 4 hours here, she isn't going anywhere" meaning she isn't going to drive this far without being suckered into what ever offer we give her. That's when she walked out and we left. I believe lowering the cost online to reflect a price that isn't true and then inflating the price once someone is at the location is the definition of unfair business practices.
