The only reason I give 2 stars is because they do generally have items in stock. Getting those in stock items is where the battle begins. We know every one of our vehicles well and generally know what we're looking for. Getting the "know it all" people at the counter to agree that it's really the part we want and need becomes an argument. We have some classic vehicles that have been changed & restored so the make, model and year don't always apply. Those have become off the table here because they can't function without those 3 questions. We also have newer vehicles that take different STOCK parts than what immediately comes up in their system. This is also a full on argument. It's crazy to have someone argue with us about a vehicle they know nothing about. We thought this last stop in would be quick and easy but even with giving the guy a part number he wanted to go through the whole system of make, model, & year. When we insisted that didn't apply he told us he couldn't help us then. We went down the street to OReilys and picked up what we needed in less than 10 minutes. It's just not worth the hassle, bad attitudes, & terrible customer service to shop here.

A couple of weeks ago I started my car and this 'Code 52' took over the dashboard speedometer…read morepanel. No check engine light - just the Code 52. I HATE when I have car issues because I dont really know how to fix it, other than to take it to the repair shop and then...... who knows, you know? So I googled it (of course!) and found out that because my car had just turned over to 100K miles, the Code 52 was an 'urgent' code stating that the timing belt (and water pump etc) needed to be replaced. Oh crud!! So I called around and got ball park estimates. The gamut ran from $1800 down to $800/$900. Well of course I wanted to go with the lowest possible but then someone suggested I give Jim Estes Garage a call. I am SO glad I did!! I spoke to the nicest man, Ron. He is (I think) the manager in charge of the garage. I explained to him what was going on and He gave me a quote which was a couple hundred dollars above the lowest, so I told him what they had quoted and Ron went back and reworked his figures and quoted me just a wee bit above the lowest garage!! I was impressed! I dropped my car off, and asked how much it would cost to have my transmission fluid checked and topped up if needed and he told me they would be checking all my fluid levels 'no charge' - What???!!! WOW!! I also told him not to worry about the TMP light (it had been flashing on for about a month- meaning, it seems, that either a TMP device had died or been lost) - that I would take care of it with my tire guy when I switched to my snow tires in a month. My car was done that afternoon, but I opted to wait until this morning to pick it up because my Daughter was able to give me a ride to the shop. I got there and the price was exactly as I expected so I was verrrrry happy! (you know what I mean, how many times do you get there and they tell you either that the price is a ton more OR they start trying to upsell you on something else that is 'wrong' with your car??) When I got in the car I noticed that not only was it running really well, but the TMP light was off!! Which meant they fixed it for me no charge!!!! I am SO impressed with Jim Estes Garage!! Not only are they fantastic Car Fixers, but they are just SO nice!! I will be taking my car to them for repairs from now on!!

When I came back around to ask for a receipt, I was given one that said "cash" and no card number. The time stamp was 30 minutes ahead. When I pointed this out, the guy said with a smirk "...And?". I told him it was a cash receipt and I used a card. He further explained that it was a cash till and even if you use a card, the receipt will say cash. I don't know about you, but a consumer should not have to be treated like this. Never using this car wash again.
