My family and I went to McKee Ranch for the first time with our friends. Overall it was cool, tons of animals and a bucket of carrots for them. It was a $20 donation which we didn't mind. That included a pumpkin, the carrots and "FREE" family photos. I say "free" this way because the website they give you doesn't give you any option to download these photos for free only to purchase and they're smeared with watermarks so you can't even use the photos without purchasing. We were told we could view and save any photos we liked for free. NOT THE CASE. I'd be 100% okay with buying these photos IF the prices weren't so jacked up and you were getting more than one choice of photo. I'm pretty disappointed with false advertising considering how much they raved about the "free" photos. We wouldn't of bothered putting our moody three year old through 20 mins of getting photos done if we had of known about it. read more

Bring your crackers and carrots to feed the animals roaming about! DO NOT WEAR YOUR GOOD SHOES. This is a ranch, tons of dust and hay. My kids love seeing the new foal Sochi, she's growing up so fast. There are 2 playgrounds my kids enjoy. I bring a lunch to sit and eat, the begging chickens are hilarious. Seriously, they are the silliest. I make sure we have crackers for them while we eat. It does freak out my youngest a little but not enough to make me rethink eating there. Bring your camera too, McKee Ranch Foundation is FULL of photo opt areas. I love the old school cowboy theme they have going. They also lease the unwanted horses they take in. I love that they take in these horses. It really allows for people who want such a beautiful animal but need boarding. We are looking into their birthday parties next! read more

This was my first time here and I had a blast. We had originally planned on going to the moapa corn maze (which we did later) but since we had the wrong opening time, we decided to go to McKee Ranch instead. The staff and vendors are great. Feeding the animals is a blast. And there are so many activities, that no matter what your age; you'll have a great time. read more

We went to McKee Ranch our first time today to feed the animals and get pumpkins, and it was just the experience we were looking for for our kiddos. You can't beat walking around in hay with turkeys, rabbits, and chickens roaming freely. Our kids loved feeding the horses, riding a pony and a horse each (their first times!), looking at the goats, and playing in the corn pit and corn maze. The pumpkins were very high quality, too. We didn't get a chance to get a photo session or go on the mini train. Looking forward to visiting again in the future. Thank you for the true farm experience! read more

We usually spend 1 hour there, and do not wear your good shoes (or just carry the good ones if you're there for one of many photo shoots throughout the year. This place might be fun to go to in October but their customer service is horrendous. I literally called once or more a day for two weeks trying to figure out if/how I could have a birthday party at the ranch for my three year old daughter. I also emailed and Facebook emailed. They did respond to the Facebook email but literally only answered one of the many questions I asked. It was going to be 4 young children and then 16 adults... The owner said it would be $350 plus I'd have to bring my own food and drinks, and it would be self-run. I'm all for a self-run party, but not if I need to pay a "$350 donation". Why would I pay $350 for four children to play on a ranch that has free entry? Then he was complaining about how much it costs to run a place like that... He was just rude and didn't want anything to do with me unless I was going to pay $350. read more

Okay, so i understand we are in the desert and that is not primary growing grounds for pumpkins, and I know that i am not the only person in town that knows that..... There is a place in California called Bishops Pumpkin patch that we would go to every year due to the amazingness of the place.... yes "amazingness" is a word. so anyways I found an add for mckee ranch that said it was a pick your own pumpkin farm and had tons of things for kids to do and a petting area as well as being fun for the entire family..My question is What family is it fun for?? Not mine, apparently the owners, I paid $20 to walk into this place just to have my daughter play with some old broken toys that must have belonged to the owners kids like 15 years ago.. Then to top it all off.. This petting area. WHAT A JOKE!! The free roaming goat just about peppered my daughter with Goat crap when she walked up to it. They wonder around and piss all over the place. So 10 minutes later as we were walking out the owner was standing at the gate with this huge S&#t eating grin, and says " You had enough already?" We went today and had a great time. Someone left a low rated review about there being hay. Another about animals being dirty, and others about the animals being in bad condition and possibly diseased. What a bunch of city folk. This is a "ranch". If you believe the animals are being mistreated or worse call the county, just like city folk to notice something they say "bothers them" but then walk away and do nothing. This place was worth the $20 per family to get in, my 20mo old son got to see all kinds of animals for the first time in his life from horses, a goat, geese, ducks, chickens, sheep and others. I visited this place a few months apart first time I went the donkey had a open wound I went back just last weekend and 2 months later still had a wound but bigger! There were rotting pumpkins all over the place and one horse had a mask with flies swirling around his head and face. I seen staff washing and walking the miniature horses one of the staff members was riding on the miniatures horse which was surprising because the horse should have been riding him considering he was too big to be riding the poor horse. It's a cute place but it's a Hoarders dream. This place needs improvement especially their care of animals if you can't care for them than you shouldn't have them. Period ! I've peen to Bonnie Springs Zoo and that place is immaculate as can be for a zoo and the animals are well cared for. McKee Ranch needs to step it up and care for these animals the way they deserve ! read more

The only things that would add more 'charm' to this place would be distributed buckets of rusty and broken scissors, nails and used syringes for the kids to play with, perhaps also a sharp stick in the eye of all guests who enter (which would improve the view and the comfort of the guests.) Went here for a gathering/event (where the gathering/event organizer /host didn't have the courtesy to secure the facility for their use, essentially treating this place like a public park, shame on the organizer/host). Full of broken toys and potentially dangerous playground equipment. Barn with animals and horseback rides were ok, but facility was just run down and full of old broken stuff, with toilets decorating the grounds (which all serve as the owner's backyard - must be delightful). I have been to a ranch before, which is kind of what this place is advertised as - but this place was more like the Sanford and Son of petting zoos. Between the poor setting and the disorganized and disrespectful behavior of the gathering/event organizer/host (among other issues), a truly awful and wasted afternoon was spent here. read more

Dirty, disgusting and all of the animals look unhealthy. Can't feed half of the horses because they bite. Horses were filthy and looks like they haven't been brushed or bathed. Most of the chickens looked like they had mange. Bathrooms (porta pottys) were practically unusable and filled with feces and flies. Save your donation and don't waste your time! read more

Love this place! We came here for the pumpkin patch around 3pm. It was not crowed at all. The little one enjoyed feeding all the animals and running around. We got a bucket of carrots for $1 to feed the horses, donkey, and goats. The decor was beautiful. We cannot wait to go again next year. read more

I wanted to visit some farm animals, be outside in nature, smell the hay, and have the feeling of escaping the noise and bustle of Vegas. I thought of Mckee Ranch since I have driven by it so many times. I called, and a nice Gentleman answered the phone, told me they would be open till dusk, no charge, come on by ! What a Nice welcome that was! I asked if I could bring some treats, he said the goats like crackers and the horses of course like carrots. After a quick trip to the grocery store, i was on my way to Mckee Ranch Once there, I felt like I was in the country-exactly what I was hoping for; a small ranch animal farm with chickens, hens and rooster, a couple pigs and goats, rabbits, horses, ponies, and a Big draft horse! I saw a cute black bunny too with a little white spot on his nose. Lots to look at, this farm is a warm inviting place with a great old time feel to it with lots of years past memorabilia and keepsakes around the ranch. Fun to browse, and look, had a great time feeding carrots to the horses, and the chickens all gathered around when i opened the ritz and saltine crackers! As I was preparing to leave, I met the Owner with another warm welcome. Good people! I am so glad I went. It did me good to be outside with the animals and relax a bit. At Mckee ranch you can get married, bring the kids for all kinds of events, and in October they have the pumpkin patch! I live close so I for sure will get my pumpkins there! I really enjoyed my visit and will be going back soon to mingle again, I am an animal lover and find peace and serenity when surrounded by animals. There was no charge on the day I was there tho there may be on other days and for special events. The owners are good animal people and treat their animals very well! LOVE this place! Went around 6:30 p.m. tonight. Hours on Yelp are inaccurate, their posted sign there says they are open daily 9am-6pm & their voicemail says "sun up to sun down", so not exactly sure about that. They offer pony rides and possibly other things during whatever their normal hours. But we were still able to go in and feed chickens/birds, donkey, ponies, and the horses. All the animals are friendly and not skiiddish. Very important : THE ANIMAL WELFARE SEEMS GOOD HERE. Proper food/drink for them, decent enclosures and a lot of them roaming freely. Bring your own crackers/carrots etc because I didnt see any for sale. (Possibly that is an option during normal hrs.) The decor is extentsive & delightful. The whole place is so quaint & lits bits of country/barn stuff through out. There is also dogs, pigs, lambs, goat n more. I hope this place is around forever, it is a Vegas hidden treasure. I found it by driving up dean martin dr... and realized I had heard of it before because my family has gone to their halloween event before. I am totally excited about this ranch & will return often! We live close to the McKee Ranch and have driven by it for years. We have never stopped by to check it out. One of my daughter's classmates had a Birthday party here. We were all excited because is was around Halloween and we could also see how the Birthday's were run. When we arrived the staff was friendly and had the birthday group get their hands stamped. We were let to the back of the place by the house. They had a setup with tables. They gave the kids buckets of carrots to feed Richard the Clydesdale horse. My daughter was anxious to feed the horse but kept getting scared. After a while she would just put the carrot on the fence and the horse would go to town. I have never seen a horse eat so many carrots. I would imagine he was a happy horse. The party also included pony rides. My daughter loves pony rides. They even had cowboy hats for the kids to wear while they rode. There were a lot of animals roaming around. They had a lot chickens just running all over the place. They also had a goat. The goat seemed to just go to the bathroom all the time. The party had food served where they rang a dinner bell. The overall experience was pretty fun. There were a few things that I didn't care for. There was a lot of animal waste everywhere. I understand this is going to happen when you have a bunch of animals. The place seemed really busy almost chaotic at times. The owners had a hard time separated the Birthday party group from the rest of the crowd. To be honest if I just payed some cash to come in and saw a table of food I would go grazing too. They had to asking people if they were with the party. The horse stable was kind of funny too. They only had 2 horses that were friendly. The rest of signs said they bite. I understand this review is a little biased because I came to a Birthday party. I was fairly disappointed with McKee Ranch. $20 donation fee for entrance and we only stayed for 30 minutes. Fed the overly aggressive horses (one bit my husband as he was walking by), fed the chickens, picked out a pumpkin and then we headed home. If you are looking for some family fun I would recommend going to the haunted harvest at the Springs Preserve. They have so much more to offer for kids and children under 4 are FREE! read more

We came here to get our Christmas tree with not having much luck at a corner Christmas tree lot (which was way over priced & commercialized) My daughters loved coming here and seeing all the animals and exploring the farm grounds! I like what they stand for and what they are trying to do but they are very unorganized. I tried taking my son one weekday and there was another family in the parking lot. They were confused on whether the ranch was opened or not. There are no signs that indicate they are or not, neither of us felt comfortable just roaming their property and unsupervised with a bunch of animals. Two weeks prior I had messaged them on Facebook because the rules/hours of operations were not clear on Facebook or their actual website. Never received a response back emailed them two days before I finally decided to just go visit I the ranch and no reply. I tried calling the number listed and never had anyone answer. When we were finally at the ranch, no answer on the phone either. Waited around for about Ten minutes and finally left and so did the other family. It makes me think how many people don't understand how their ranch works because the lack of clarification on their part and have left and never went in. There are families that are actually willing to donate to their ranch but due to the lack of information its hurting them more. THEH eventually messaged me back and basically said, "sorry, we are doing the best we can, and it's their home" which I completely understand but still never clarified any questions I asked. read more

Vegas friends!!! Don't go to McKee Ranch Events just left there and it was a waste of money and were treated completely disrespectfully. We organized for a bunch of our families & friends to go to the pumpkin patch Friday evening after work. Sounded like a great plan to get the kids together and start the Halloween excitement. We had 8 families come....a good number of people! It's supposed to be $20 for a family and you get to take one pumpkin home. The $20 is supposed to be a "DONATION" to feed the animals. They made at least $160 off of us plus additional money for pony rides! We arrived and happily gave a lady our $20 for our family and she hands me a ripped up half of a ticket-l you know the tickets you get at a raffle but only half of the ticket. Talked with friends gave the kids carrots to give to the animals. We picked our favorite pumpkin and got ready to go. I'm juggling twin 15 month old babies while trying to hold onto a 8lbs pumpkin and he asks for our ticket (for the pumpkin). I tried to search my pockets (juggling twins mind you) and i couldn't find this half of ticket stub that was probably only an inch squared. My wife tries to locate the ticket in my pockets. We can't find it. He then proceeds to request $6 for the pumpkin. I explain I'm not paying for the pumpkin as I already paid $20 which includes a pumpkin. Still searching and I can't find it. Really McKee Ranch Events I'm supposed to hold on to a 1" squared piece of paper. As you read their website you will see they encourage you to bring food to feed their animals. So I'm supposed to hold on to this 1 inch ticket while I pullout carrots and apples for the kids to feed the animals? I'm sure when I was pulling out a carrot somewhere it fell out. Probably his fat goat ate it. This interaction was with the owner MAX at the McKee Ranch He was so rude. Really like we would steal a pumpkin with our hands full of sleep tired babies??? Really !!! He kept yelling at us this is why I hold you to hold onto your ticket when I gave it to you! I'm sorry MAX you were not the one who gave us the ticket. Whatever you do find a better pumpkin patch it is super lame, over priced and you will be subjected to rude staff who will accuse you of pumpkin thievery! read more

The gentleman at the gate was very apologetic but it's still disappointing that yelp would have the wrong times posted. So I have had to lower expectations coming from Oregon to Las Vegas, NV. Wasn't sure what to expect today at the ranch, but went with an open mind because of good reviews. It is kind of like a hodgepodge of activities here, and a bit crowded for the space. My review is mainly of their old, old playground equipment. My son and daughter enjoyed the merry-go-round, but we saw many children fall off and get hurt while riding it. Also, on our way out, my two children went down the slide near the front entrance. With the large bump on the slide, my son ended up face planting right into the hay/dirt and he got some cuts on his face and bled. Lots of crying. Not a good way to end the afternoon at the "pumpkin patch." The highlight of the event was the free photography session by LaLa photography. Nice staff and they had western dress up clothes. They were the highlight, and not even a part of the ranch. Will we return to this ranch? No. We can live without the old playground equipment injuries! On our way out we notified a staff person, whose response was "that's the first one today." No apology for it. (I realize there is risk in letting kids play on things, but if several kids are getting hurt, may be time to look into getting some safer equipment, or just not having any). read more
