I was down the street and recall passing this market several times, never had the time to stop in... glad I did..... very welcoming staff greeted and asked several times if I needed anything just ask. The market looked like it had more capacity for baking and cooking and "deli" type service, but those areas looked a bit empty. A great selection of spices, teas, jam, jellies, sauces etc. some pre-prepared items such as nuts and grains. A great and well stocked refrigerated and freezer section. I was not looking for halal meat, and maybe I missed the meat section but I didn't see any. What I did see (and bought some) was large flat pita style garlic bread (dense and chewy, great for dipping) and also some traditional Lamejun (Lebanese or Armenian flat bread style pizza) Haven't had any of those since I left the east coast.... They are so tasty. They also had Afghani flat bread. So I stocked up on bread and my car smelled like a middle eastern bakery on the way home. read more

Went here specifically to find fresh green almonds because they are one of the few spots that have them for the very short season they're available. Well stocked clean and organized with an in house bakery. Staff was friendly and helpful. If you're looking for Middle Eastern, Persian or Iranian specialties this is the spot. So first stuff I went here I honestly was not expecting the inside to be as big as it was. It was fairly clean. They did have a lot of options. I do like their seasoning section they had a lot of stuff that I haven't seen. They should go through their fruits and vegetables, though the cauliflower was bad. It was turning black so that is one thing and the seasonings on some of the tops like the fry seasoning. They'll expired this year, which is cool. You know what I'm saying, but a lot of the stuff is dusty on top, which is kind of an appealing. I got one of their bread. It's a garlic bread or a garlic pita oh my goodness this stuff smells so good.. The lady was super nice at the front. She didn't bug us or anything like that. She just let us do our thing and that was it. We came up made small Convo and then we left. There was the butcher there also obviously didn't say anything which is fine. I mean you don't have to speak with everyone you meet. Overall, the place is cool. I would go back for greens and stuff like that. read more

I'm so glad to have found a place other than afandi market that serves Zabiha Halal !!! I went there in search for some good halal kebabs and have definitely landed at the right place :) The store screams middle eastern vibes with all the lights, music and incense stick fragrance. They've got halal cut meats and the place looks very clean and hygienic. As you can see from the pictures, they also have a tandoor (oven) where they bake fresh breads and naans. I got me some fresh naans & turkey salami. Naans were so soft, salami's on the other hand a smoked flavour, Yumm!!! Walking through the aisles, found some good spices and a variety of great quality nuts and seeds! They have beautifully placed items to taste it too. I also found their cute section of turkish lights and decor things for Ramadan :) Overall, I could spend a good amount of time in here going through each aisle ;) read more

Lots of items that are not in my cooking wheelhouse BUT this cute little spot brings me in for their incredible fresh herbs. I haven't seen a better variety, price and quality anywhere else, most bunches are a dollar. Very solid produce section some at very competitive prices. It's one of the few grocers that sells feta that's NOT packaged in plastic and they have some delicious options fresh and in the brine. If you can score some bread hot and fresh out of the tandoori oven, DO THAT. The super long bread (Sangak I think) is mighty tasty made with whole wheat, topped with plenty of sesame and other seeds, slightly crisp outer crust but with a surprisingly light and airy (yet thin) inner loaf. It's even better right out of the oven. They also have scrumptious top notch baklava. Honey dripping interior with a deletable crisp outer phyllo crust. Lots of other shelf stable middle eastern staples, spices, and retail items all in a clean friendly environment. This really is quite a little neighborhood gem. read more

What a nice welcome surprise with the brand new Ranch Mediterranean Market opening! This store has everything. It is predominantly a Persian/Iranian full line grocery store that stocks everything from fresh fruit and vegetables, rice, jams, teas, canned goods, pickled items, dairy cases, real saffron, prepared meats and a full halal meat counter. It doesn't end there... They also have a halal deli with various favorite halal cold cuts, imported hard and soft cheeses from Iran and several different olives imported from Italy. They will have a bakery too. They were setting up their brand new large hearth oven where they will be making and baking fresh breads and other delectable items everyday! They also have beautiful gifts, tea sets, dishes and samovars. Hadi and Susan were so nice and welcomed us into their store. They had a soft opening and are planning a Grand Opening to be determined at a later date after the store is completely arranged. All in all this store is going to be a one stop fabulous shop for all your Mediterranean/Persian grocery needs! read more

Came here because I was making a Moroccan dish with Lamb and couscous. Everyone working there was super nice and helpful and greeted me when I walked in and helped me find what I needed. It is very organized and the interior is very modern. They offered me Baklava which is one of my favorite deserts. It was one of the best Ive had in town as it was subtlety sweet how I like them. My husband and I were excited to see a new Mediterranean market open in the neighborhood. The first time we went in, a gentleman eagerly showed me exactly what I needed to make falafel including dried garbanzo beans but also a spice packet and a mix to try. It was perfect. He was SOOO helpful and friendly, however, the lady at the check-out was less so, very sullen and never smiled. Fine. I can live with that. However, we, recently, returned to the market to find other ingredients for another dish and the same lady at the check-out counter was not at all helpful. We were sent through the aisles to fend for ourselves and just left in sheer frustration. While I would prefer to give my business to local, small business, Whole Foods had what I needed. So between my first visit which was five stars and the latest visit which was one star, this averages to three stars. We likely won't be returning. read more

Great place for all your Mediterranean and Persian food needs! The staff is so friendly and helpful (we were looking for sumac and za'atar spices for a Mediterranean dinner we wanted to prepare at home). In addition to the fresh produce, olives and cheese and breads, they also have a small cute cafe in front serving tea and baklava. The pistachio baklava was crisp, flaky and deliciously nutty and the presentation of the tea (rosebud in water, tea bag and small saffron rock candy to the side) was divine! I walked in and the cashier Ms. Reyhaneh was very nice and friendly. She walked around and showed me the things I was looking for. The deli department had jsut a few items. They had 10 pieces of lamb tongue on a tray, I purchased 6 at $11.99 /lb. and I asked for thin slices of mortadella. The meat was not sliced thin and the slicing was done with the wrapper on the meat. At hope I discovered that lamb tongues were spoiled and gluey. Martadella was also not fresh. I purchased sangak to learn at hope that it was burned and stale as were the pita bread bought (defrosted). They had no pastries on Friday except a small box of (majlesi) $11.99. HOW CAN A MARKET BE OUT ON A FRIDAY AFTERNOON OF PASTERIES AND BREAD? As an Iranian I love to support local Iranian businesses, but it seems as if they don't care. They advertise on FB and their site as fresh, fresh but that is a joke. I sent couple of DM on FB to the market and the owner but so far he has refused to respond. The most imporatnt is that I was over charged for turkey pastrami in leu of lamb tongues. I careless about a few extra dollars. If they need it no problem, but how do they expect to stay in business? The owners silence is a sign of guilt and he knows it. They are lucky I did not inform the Health Department. read more

As an Iranian I love to support my people. I saw their IG ad and it looked promising. I withheld my review until after a few trips. From the first trip to the last I have not been impressed. My last shopping trip really did it for me--lavash bread was moldy and their nazook was hard. I obviously didn't see it at the store because it's hard to tell looking from the display. I had my mother in law staying in town...I was HORRIFIED. Also they cannot cut mortadella thin if their life depended on it. I specifically asked for a thin cut each time and this last time saying "paper thin" in farsi and it went over their heads. I have never seen cold cuts, cut so thick in my life. Please do better. Nice, small, clean and has a small variety of Mediterranean items. It has about 1/3 the amount of choices as Jones Market that has a much bigger deli section. However the staff is much Friendlier than Jones market. If you don't look middle eastern, Jones market treats you like an annoyance to them. I guess I don't look Greek enough (though I am) for Jones market, but their deli food is amazing. read more
