I'm sorry but there's nooooo way humanly/humanely possible that those animals are well taken care of. We went yesterday to take pictures of the little ones and the donkey was literally open wound down one entire leg dripping blood, and the other leg was mended with what looked like a pair of jeans. I asked the gentleman what was wrong with the donkey and he told me it's allergies that the donkey keeps messing with.... why not put the cone of shame on him like they do to dogs?!? It literally ruined my day seeing the poor donkey suffering. I didn't take a picture to spare you all from the gore..... but it was really quite heart breaking to see. :( read more

The condition of the animals was not ideal. A couple horses had no shelter, water looked dirty like it hadn't been changed, stalls need to be mucked out, several horses appeared in poor body condition, the larger draft horse hooves are in need of attention, and all the horses needed fly masks. This was our second time at the Ranch. The first time was just okay, we like The Farm in the northwest much better. We decided to give it another try for the Pumpkin Patch. It was cute. Lots of pumpkins and places for good fall photos. $20"donation" gets you a a bag of carrots to feed the horses and a pumpkin to take home. There's pony rides, a little train, hay maze and a couple other things for small kiddos. It's an interesting place for sure and worth checking out at least once. I went for a birthday party and it was perfect!! There was a private area they have for parties. It seriously felt like we were having a party in their backyard. It was on the side of a house that was fenced in. They even hired a taco man for the party. I love it!! I believe they have you rent the space and allow your party attendees access into the ranch with pony rides and carrots to feed the horses. And allow you to provide your own catering. Weather was great. Since it was a ranch, there were many other animals. I was a little overwhelmed with watching the little kids and taking them around the ranch and making sure we spent time at the party that we were pretty done after 2 hours. We're visiting the area from out of town m, so this was our first time at the ranch. It's such a cute, family owned and operated farm that runs on donations. The owners are very friendly and gave us a bucket of feed for the animals. My two year old thoroughly enjoyed that and also walking around the grounds. Definitely worth the visit if you're local. It's a fun place to take the kids. My daughter really enjoyed seeing and feeding the animals. The animals are mostly friendly. They have bunnies, chicken, quails roaming freely. They have goats, pigs, horses, ponies in enclosed areas. Be aware of the rusted metal decorations because they do have sharp corners which can be scary if the little one gets near. Overall it was a fun day. Bring them your empty egg cartons. read more

I've been out to McKee Ranch a few times and just love it. Christi and Max McKee was wonderful people, sweet, friendly, helpful. I can't say enough nice things about them! Their ranch is the most adorable place I've found here in the Vegas area since moving here almost a year ago. The property is filled with beautiful antiques, quirky memorabilia, and of course their big personality animals. Recently my husband and I (new husband) had our wedding ceremony during sunset at their ranch. It was the most perfect country/farm setting I could ever hope for. The entire place was decorated with twinkle lights, pumpkins, and sunflowers! The McKee's went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect for us. They even made us a little wedding cake and got champagne for toasts. We weren't expecting all that as we had a reception planned at a local restaurant. But the cake she made was DELICIOUS, and it matched my own bridal flowers. If you ever get a chance to visit the McKee Ranch, do so. You won't be disappointed. They have lots of animals for the kids to feed. They have unending photo op locations throughout their property. They even hold a nighttime "flashlight" market a couple times a year with lots of local vendors and artists. It seems that people either love or hate McKee Ranch with very little in between. I am camp "love it" and have visited multiple times letting my two littles explore, feed the horses and enjoy this little sanctuary tucked away near Blue Diamond and Dean Martin. This is also a favorite "go-to" for the kiddos when their grandparents come to visit from the midwest. Everyone here is friendly and welcoming. Hours do vary, especially seasonally so I would advise giving them a quick call to inquire before heading out. It is a $20 entrance/donation for the entire family. That is more than fair and I would donate even if it wasn't enforced simply because I want this little gem to prosper. As I mentioned, it is fun to visit year round and there is something to do (generally within seasonal theme), my favorite is always fall harvest because I love everything fall. Your entry also gets you a ticket which you can redeem for a pumpkin of your choice. Additional or painted pumpkins are usually around $5 which is extremely reasonable relative to store prices. You also get a bucket of carrots/food to feed to the animals as your explore and take in the beautiful decorations and fun activities. They offer face painting, photoshoots, pony rides for additional cost. My kiddos indulged in all at one point or another and I don't remember it ever being it outrageously priced or unreasonable. I will continue to support and visit this gem and hope they stick around for a long time to come. The animals were very well taken care of, clean and areas around kept up. Was looking for a fun pumpkin picking place for the family, came across this place. The animals look extremely distraught, the horses and other animals are covered in flies. Now don't get me wrong I lived in Idaho where I was around farm animals on ranches and helping out with livestock. These animals look abused and uncared for, it seems to be a sales tactic in getting more customers. It was extremely depressing to see the state of these animals it's NEVADA, it's HOT and yet no cooling systems installed for these animals, no fresh water, not to mention the amount of animals shoved together in such a small space. If I could give this place 0 stars I would, because if you're an animal lover like myself it was a hard thing to watch, and stayed maybe 10 mins. read more

It is a cute little ranch! Plenty of photo opportunities to get that vintage look, such as old swings, tractor, wagons, etc. Country music is blasting throughout the ranch to keep things lively. They have chickens roaming around. There are stables to visit ponies, Duncan the Donkey, and horses. They also have a corn maze (which isn't much of a maze, you just zig-zag through a couple of rows and end back at the beginning.) It took us an hour to finish going through the ranch. We also got to pick out a pumpkin to take home (which was included with our donation) As we were leaving, I inquired the young lady about the sign next to her that said, "your $20 donation gives you unlimited visits for the next 11 months" and how does it work? (If we get a card or something to show we made a donation.) She told me that she isn't sure how it works and told me that I'd have to contact the ranch owners. Such a quaint little ranch! I wanted to take a moment to voice my concern of how my family and I were treated this afternoon and how mortified I am. I had planned on taking my children and grandson to the McKee Ranch especially since this property was for sale and this could be the last year. I wanted the kids to feed the animals. I believe I spoke to one of the owners, I think her name was Cindy. She was so sweet to me. She gave me corn stalks and carrots and my kids/grandsons quickly fed the animals. I came back for a 2nd round and there another lady. I'm not sure if she was an employee, volunteer, or part of the owners. She had rudely told my children not to feed the children the corn stalk. Ok, fine. I saw her and she reminded us and I replied ok, I didn't know. Anyhow, the kids had fun with the 2nd bucket of carrots. Toward the exit, you have a play area. All the kids were playing and it was time to go. My grandson was on a toy train and was having his moment not wanting to leave, same time a small white donkey was crossing his path. The same women was screaming saying my daughter was putting my grandson in front of the donkey on purpose and scaring the donkey. I stood there in shock like, is this really happening? Why would she assume we would would put our kids/these animals in danger? The more she insulted my daughter, it provoked my daughter to use foul language and call her names. Whoever she was, she had no right to speak to my family this way. We were respectful. read more

Found McKee Ranch this Halloween season and I'm super glad I did. For $25 per family (in October), they give a pumpkin and a bag of carrots to feed the animals. It's cheap, fun, and good for all ages. The animal enclosures are well maintained and the animals all look well taken care of. read more

We love bringing our kids here every fall. It is reasonable donation of $25 to get to walk around and feed the animals with the carrots they give. If you want extras like pony or horse rides bring cash as they're extra. Keep in mind that they rescue many of these animals as well and they're a non profit so you're helping them run this. read more

Was a little mislead with what I thought was suppose to be a craft fair of sorts. There was a $20 donation grant was supposed to be optional yet the person at the table running it was rather aggressive with the "optional" part and is did not fee at all like it was actually optional. McKee ranch is a non profit foundation which is family owned and committed to protecting and promoting farming and ranching life and Nevada. You shouldn't come here expecting it to be a normal for profit business that's fully staffed and ready to give you a tour. The ranch is open for visitors and it is suggested that you make a donation when you come. Suggested donation is $5 per person or $20 per family. They're honest, country-folk who just trust that you'll do the right thing. So there is just a bucket where it's marked 'donation area' for you to leave your deposit. Feel free to pack a lunch and bring the whole family. There's play areas for the kids and lots of animals to see and feed. Once again, Use that country common-sense Watch your kids, wear appropriate shoes and be nice to the animals. The ranch is available for weddings and birthday parties. I've been going here with my family since I was around 5, and this was terrible. Every year I see this business that has been a family tradition of mine to visit for over a decade get worse and worse, slowly prioritizing profit over their animals. It's heartbreaking to see the conditions that these animals are in. Horses with infected hooves, starving horses, dead bunnies and pigeons in the stables, and overall just terrible animal hygiene. It makes me really sad too see this because I love animals and I've been going here for so long that I've seen a lot of these animals grow up. Do not waste your money supporting a business that doesn't care about animals, they should really be shut down. read more
