The tech who came to cap a line didn't listen to me when I asked him to wait outside so I could secure my dogs, instead he just followed me into the house. When he completed the job and left I noticed scratches (down to the metal) on my brand-new washing machine in two places and a dent in my new dryer. Purchased a home that had a propane tank in it and continued to use McMinnville gas. Good service, good price. No complaints. When we had natural gas brought into our home, I told them I was not going to need service anymore, and why I wouldn't. I had about 35 gallons of propane left in my underground tank. I asked if they would be able to pump it out, And was told that if I called back in the summer or early fall before they got busy, they'd be happy to come out and pull it out. They wouldn't give me any money for it of course, but would empty the tank. I have called to do that, and they disavow any knowledge of that conversation. Ryan Fuller, the manager, apparently is not a man that keeps his word. I would be careful before contracting with these folks. read more

I recently switched to Mcminnville Gaa Co. for my propane needs. I knew it was a family owned business & today the patriarch of the family came out to check my tank & write instructions for his delivery people. I rent space in the country on private property. There is a security gate on the property & I have to be home to open it. He noted that & that my landlord's really BIG dogs are friendly. He was delayed about 30 min. in leaving when I couldn't get the remote to open the gate. He was so nice about it & never acted upset or put out. I'd recommend Mcminnville Gas over the competition any day! read more

Called to inquire about new service for my home and Ryan who called me back stated we only sell not rent the 120 pound tanks. I asked if I could use 2 tanks together with a regulator was told no. Funny other companies say yes you absolutely can. When I commented the benefit of owning a tank is I can fill my tank using any company I was rudely informed if I can't fill the tank for the 1st fill then he wasn't interested. Horrible customer service, not sure how they are still in business. Wow! Extremely poor customer service. read more

We have been customers of Mac Gas since 1970 and have never been disappointed with their service. Their ability to service and repair our stove, furnace, and freestanding fireplace has been first class. Although the recent snow and ice storms put a major monkey wrench in their ability to make deliveries to many customers, they worked diligently to fill customers tanks as quickly as possible with 12 hour days being routine and emergency calls late at night. When the going gets tough, the tough get going! Good price is not the only thing to consider! Dependability is just as important! We are very pleased with Mac Gas and recommend them highly! read more

I called this company to find out if they had the ability to T into a line on a very small travel trailer. I explained to the woman who answered the phone what I needed & she transferred me to someone who didn't even bother to say 'Hello' but immediately said "You'd be better off going to an RV dealer." When I asked if they had the capability to do the job the answer was 'yes' but was quickly followed up with "We don't have the space to do that here." I explained it was only a 12' long trailer but was answered with, "Well, that's an RV isn't it?" At that point I hung up on him. Since they do service work I would've thought they'd be interested in doing the work at my house which would allow them to make a lot more money. Apparently "Customer Service" isn't a concept they're familiar with so I wouldn't recommend anyone to this company. read more

The owner decided to respond to my previous review so I thought I would clarify a few things. Number one, screaming at a customer on the phone with your threats is NOT customer service. Number two, you NEVER once offered a discount of any sort and I waited for over 2 weeks for you to come up with a solution. NOT ONE was made other then, "I will take you to small claims court and you will pay the 375!". Little reality check, I DID NOT ORDER THE PROPANE!! I don't care if you can't get it out or not! Point is I DID NOT ORDER THE PROPANE! This is called a business loss. You screwed up by implementing a program that does NOT require signatures and now you have a problem. Lesson learned for you, GET the signature of acknowledgement from your customers. Oh and I found it entertaining that there are 3 other customers of yours in Vernonia that are in a feud with your company. One of which is in almost the same position as us! Amusing isn't it! Let me explain what you could have done---- Apologized for the lack of communication and offered a significant discount as you so claimed below. Picked up this tank and replaced it with another of approx. the same size. Offered to use the 375 as a credit towards the relocating of the tank you did a bid on for us. YOU DID NONE OF THE ABOVE! Instead, I just got a threat. I am sure your customers are thrilled to hear that you lie as well as treat your customers like dirt. I look forward to seeing you in court. I am always one to support the "small business" of our community, but I feel it's important to let folks know our experience with McMinnville Gas, Inc. It was not good from the start. They staff are curt at best on the phone. The invoice process is slow and the statement looks like they use a template invoice from 1990's software. But most importantly, they're not competitively priced! Rental fee is approx $60 a year (depending on which tank you rent). They do NOT set your expectations well as to additional costs, (pick up fee is also $60'of you change providers). And if you're not on "will call" they come based on their idea of your usage, and you get a huge surprise bill that they leave on your fence, or the shed door, or your front door. Always a fun hunt all around to figure out where the big bill, I don't want to pay, has been placed. Then the invoice follows about a week later. You have to call to make a payment or mail them a check. Who does that anymore?! Just can't recommend. Period. read more

Problem: my camp stove could not maintain a strong flame despite a full tank of propane, and a lot of tinkering on my part to find the cause. Solution: I stopped in at McMinnville Gas to ask for help. They patiently heard me describe the problem, and invited me to bring in the tank and hose, which I did. Following a few tests, they explained that I had a defective adapter, which they replaced and made a necessasry modification to my hose. Problem solved. A real disappointment in a locally owned and operated business. They actually told me they aren't taking new accounts (more business) because they can't keep up with those they already have! I had Mac Gas for quite a few years but just sold my home. I called Mac Gas prior to the sale and asked about transferring things to the new owner. They said they'd fill the tank after the new owner moved in and I'd get paid for the remaining gas. I called today and spoke with a youngish sounding man who claimed to be the Mac Gas owner. He said that's not how they operate and that I needed to figure things out directly with the new homeowner. I said, then, that they should just remove the tank which is leased to me. He said they wouldn't do that as they wanted to have an account with the new owner and they weren't going to remove the tank just to bring it back later on. Unbelievable!!!
