    Our baby Rocko.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! These guys are crooks and liars! I brought my Lexus in with a CAT code P0420 and Evap small leak and sensor codes. They started out with saying that it was a bad gas cap and wanted to charge me $157 for their diagnostic and $34 for a gas cap. Then Andrew called me and said that didn't fix the issue and that they did another smoke test and that they needed to replace the Fuel Vapor Pressure Control Valve which is very simple to fix and wanted to charge $357 at a mark up of 150% for the part alone. Then the next day Andrew called me back again and said that the part didn't fit the bolt pattern on my vehicle??? So now they have to replace a different part -the EVAP Pressure Pump and charged me $890. Then After driving my car a few times all of the warning and check engine light came back on so I brought my car to a different mechanic and they did a diagnostic and the code P0420 CAT was still there and that code is 100% accurate that the Catalytic Converter was bad and needed to be replaced and that was a major repair. I told them that McNeils charged me $890 and that I did not have an invoice and that I did ask for one and they said that they would email me the invoice which I never received. I called MCNEILS and spoke to Andrew and I asked why he didn't tell me that I was going to have to replace my cat converter and he said that they will only warrant the part that they replaced and that if it was something other than that it was on me not them. I told him bottom line I paid them to accurately diagnose and fix my car! My husband and I went to McNeils and talked to Jake to try and get our hard earned money back and he said that he would give $430 back if we don't leave a negative review. I refused because it's only right that I warn other people so they don't have to go through this. Jake had the audacity to ask me that if they had told us up front that the Catalytic Converter also had to be replaced for $1800 would I have been happy and I said yes because my car would have been fixed and we wouldn't have to deal with all of the stress and anguish that they have caused us by not being honest and upfront when they knew damn well that they never fixed the major problem and that the warning lights would come back on and that the CAT Code P0420 was not cleared because it was not fixed. What is worse is that when we were looking under the hood of the car trying to figure out why the bad solenoid was never replaced our 5 year old baby dog snuck in the hot car and died within minutes in this heat as we were preoccupied with the trouble that they have caused. My family is devastated and we will never get our baby Rocko back which is priceless.

This place gets er dun. Anything you need they'll help you with. I came in there with an air conditioning problem and I also got a full service, emissions, and registration done. All for a very reasonable price. They were very personal and thorough in helping me with my problem. They fixed some things they believed were the issue and said if I run into any more issues, bring it back and they'll investigate deeper. Very chill and helpful. They also are very honest, transparent, and won't try to up-sell. They send you a txt with a link that gives full detail and pictures of how your car looked with other metrics as well. Saves them a lot of time and enables the customer to see exactly what they looked at. Very cool. Great waiting area too with places near by if you really want some food. They do it right here!

    Ryan's truck saved the day!

My mechanic was skilled and quick, it only took him just a few minutes to change everything out and I was set to go. Price was fair and I'm happy with the service and the techs they sent who were courteous and friendly. I've added them as a contact for future repairs, so I'm recommending them here for anyone else that needs auto servicing.

This will be long because these guys deserve a proper review. We were in town from Las Vegas and…read morewere staying in Provo. All the eletrical in our car went out we assumed we needed a battery which is something we change out every few years because Vegas summers are brutal. We changed it out but the battery light kept flashing on and off we thought we need to drive the car so the battery can juice up the car. We drove from Provo to SLC for a graduation and on our way back at around 9000 S. the electrical started going out again and we pulled over at a Maverick. We were told after making a call to a shop that its probably the alternator considering the battery change didnt fix the issue. They also told us that they werent available to take it until the next week which wasnt an option for us because we had to get back for work. I went on Yelp and Best Buds Mobile service popped up with 5 star reviews so I called. The gentleman that answered was genuine as explained that we thought it was the alternator. He gave me a quote that was within what I was willing to pay. I asked him if he had a number to a tow place so I can get it towed to them. He said "its ok we come to you". I was surprised but then "duh" it says "mobile" in their name. He also told me it would probably be about and hour and a half for them to repair. WHAT! It really did seem too good to be true. The shop we had previously called quoted us double what these guys quoted. They literally showed up within 30 min they arrived at that Maverick parking lot and probably less than the time frame he told me it would take them to fix it we were on our way back to Provo and now we are home and our car is running perfectly! These guys are a gem! I Googled the cost to replace the alternator and they were within the range. So Im going to say they are honest. I wish they were in in Vegas. But now we know if there are any car repair needs for us when in Utah or our family we will be reffering Best Buds Mobile Services. Thank you for the best auto repair service we have hands down ever had!

They are very honest and I didnt feel like I was going to get scammed. I was a little nervous walking up to a used car dealership. But everything went great. I even threw the invoice into chatgpt to make sure the pricing was well. The other amazing thing was, I bought front break pads from the Mercedes dealership and I asked them if they could use those and change them since I couldnt return it back. They said yes! This is unheard of. Most service companies make money off of parts. But these guys were great. The dealership was clean and everyone was nice. I do most of the work myself because I want to avoid people scamming me. I have already told 4 people about this and plan on posting about it on instagram to let everyone know. Companies need to know if you dont scam people and work with them they will get more business. But companies are trying to get as much from customoers. Thank you KC you were the best! I will reach out for sure. Thank you for communicating so well and being available and very responsive. Terrible experience. I came here hoping to knock out a quick oil change before getting a car wash…read more After the techs spent about 10 minutes trying to upsell me on items from the "inspection" that I didn't request, they informed me that they had already drained my oil but couldn't replace the filter because the skid plate bolts were stripped and they couldn't get it off. This was right after I heard their torque wrench audibly destroy the bolts. They admitted that they had indeed stripped out the bolts trying to remove them. To make it worse they told me that while they wouldn't charge for the oil filter they would still charge me for the oil. I explained that it makes no sense to pay for the oil if I have to go right back somewhere else and have it drained again in order to replace the filter. After arguing they went back down and worked on the bolts and were able to finally get them off and replace the filter. But now the bolts were stripped and they couldn't put the skid plate back on safely! They claim to have called around looking for new bolts but couldn't find any. They did their best to re-attach the skid plate with just a few partially stripped bolts. So now I have to go have the skid plate removed again and reattached with new bolts. And they charged me full price for everything even though they stripped my bolts. What should have been an easy oil change has note resulted in a big headache for me. Avoid this place!

That said, having just made the first of many credit card payments for work I never would have had done given the full scope of what my vehicle needed, I feel compelled to prevent this from happening to anyone else. While the actual work done here seems fairly competent, the diagnostic process seems about as accurate as playing darts blindfolded. I brought my car in because it was creaking misfiring, and the check engine light was on. I told them that I believed my engine mounts were worn out and that I also needed a diagnoses for the misfiring. They told me that the cause for the misfiring was likely that my spark plugs and ignition coils were worn out, because that usually happens around 100k miles and my vehicle was past that. I agreed to have them replaced along with new engine mounts, to the tune of $2,600. I was told that after this my vehicle would be like a totally different car. The very next day, my car misfired again and the check engine light came back on. When I brought it back, they informed me that they don't have any way of knowing this fo sure, but I probably actually had a blown head gasket. I brought my car to a different mechanic shop who did a full and complete diagnostic from bumper to bumper and took photos of everything wrong with the car- from a blown head gasket to a leaking transmission to almost completely worn wheel bushings and a host of other problems totaling over $8,200 in addition to the $2,600 I had already paid at Red Rock Auto. Had I known this in the first place, I never would have paid $2,600 on a doomed old van that needed almost $11,000 in work done. I had to buy a new van and that $2,600 would have really helped with the down payment. I'm tempted to say that I feel duped, but I don't think there was any malice or fraud going on- just general laziness or incompetence in the diagnostic process that very negatively affected me.
