It looks like I've been swindled too. I purchased a coupon from Dealfind for three hours of house cleaning in 2011 and it clearly states "no expiration date." After not receiving a call back from M & J, I called Dealfind to learn that despite their voucher stating that the deal would not expire, they would not refund me for the cost of the coupon since a year had passed. M & J seem to be very flakey from these reviews... they have a website, but when you call their number you get what sounds like an out-of-order message. I informed Dealfind I won't be using their services again (they insist the one-year no-refund policy is on the voucher... I'm looking right at it and it says nothing about this). Well, I am reviewing M & J's Cleaning Services, or actually lack there of. I booked for an appointment for a Tuesday between 1 and 2 p.m. I even called a few days before to confirm, and Mause said we were all set. Tuesday comes, and all I do is wait for them. I call them before 1, several times after 1, and definitely a few times after 2, on both their phone lines, and I got nothin'. No call back, no sorry we're late, no call back to ask if we can reschedule. I wasted half my day sitting around waiting for them to come. Rude ass, bull crap company. Should've looked more closely at their reviews on Yelp, my recommendation is don't do business with them. Clearly they don't give a shi* about their customers or potential customers. If I hear from them, I'l update this review, but I can almost guarantee I'm not gonna hear squat from them again. read more

Another great job by Mouse and his helper. I hired Mouse 3 months ago for a deep cleaning after our apartment had fallen into a dog hair infested trash zone. Fast forward two months and the dog hair was mostly gone but our new cat friend was leaving his stench around the house and our apartment had accumulated 3 bachelors worth of neglect. I hired Mouse again and again, I am at peace when I return home to a spotless apartment. When I pay for a cleaning service I expect to have a clean house. My expectations for a clean house are, what I think, simple expectations. Clean floors, sinks, counters, tubs and showers and toilets, baseboards and dusting/vacuuming. Mause and his team does just that! They CLEAN. I've had expensive cleaning services before and all they did was rearrange and fold towels to make rooms appear to be clean. Not Mause, they get out the non intrusive cleaners and left my house dust free and shiny. Added bonus, Mause enjoyed my curious 1 1/2 year old. He kept her enthralled while he cleaned away. Mause and his team have cleaned my parents' and my house a number of times. My experience has been completely different from the Yelpers who had problems. 80% of the time, they arrive just when they say. When they got stuck in traffic, they let us know, and stayed longer and worked harder than we expected. For example, I told Mause that we wanted to have them do the linoleum floors, dust, and vacuum carpets in the first visit, but that eventually we would want cabinets washed. Mause did it that day! Another time, he came back and they cleaned the linoleum by hand -- no mop -- including a thorough wash down of baseboards. No one's ever done baseboards until we have had to remind them. Not so with Mause's team. Another plus: Mause and Heidi are very warm individuals and a pleasure to work with. I can't imagine switching to another company. read more

Mause, Bianca, and co were great! I'd been looking for a cleaner and I booked their services after finding a deal on Living Social. The appointment was fairly easy to book and they worked hard at cleaning up our bathroom, kitchen, living room, bedroom and hallway. We have two cats and a dog so the dust bunnies can build up fast. It was so nice to come home to a super clean apartment. Definitely worth the investment to not have to worry about scrubbing the tub (and the toilet, and the sinks, and the floors..) after a busy day at work. read more

I love yelp, and I love giving people good reviews, but if I could give Mause a negative stars I would. First off, he is impossible to get a hold of, his website contact form either doesn't work or he ignores it. I went out of town and for 3 weeks leading up to my trip I confirmed the date a and time for three cleanings and asked him to email me the confirmation so that I could give him the lockbox info. He never emailed me. I then texted him all the information. While out out of the country, I got WiFi for a morning and saw that my renter said the place wasn't clean. I texted everything to him again, and he went to place and couldn't get a hold of me and left. This was after I told him from the very beginning that I would be out of the country. Upon my return and what was supposed to be his 2nd or 3 cleanings, I spoke with him texted him all the information and emailed all the information, and he didn't reply with a confirmation to anything. I called Sergio at SOS Cleaning at 8pm on a Friday night, and he had a crew in at 7am the next day. Never use M&J, I am still trying to get a refund for this waste of money read more

I purchased a voucher for house cleaning on DealFind.com. I have called on 3 different occasions asking Miles to come clean my house on a Sat. He tells me that he is booked and I tell him I will call another time. I assumed that I was just calling too close to the actual day (I get it that Sat. is a popular day to get your house cleaned). Today when I called and was told he is booked on Sat. Nov 12th(2 weeks away) I asked him what Sat. he has in the next 6 months that is open and he tells me none. I told him that I cannot have him come on a weekday because I am not home and I don't know him. He then informed me he wouldn't give up a Sat. spot for a "free appt". I told him I paid for my voucher, so it wasn't technically free and that if he didn't want to honor them on weekend days, then it needed to state that in the deal. He got very angry and told me to take it up with Dealfind and that he would not clean my house at all period. read more

He and Gloria arrived on time, and with all their own cleaning equipment. Mause was very personable, and they both began working. They did a fantastic jobl Mause scrubbed the tiles in my bathroom floor and the shower area. I am no longer considering re-grouting-they're white! He never stopped cleaning. Gloria carefully and thoroughly cleaned my kitchen counters, sink, toaster oven and stove, as well as scrubbing floors, and walls. He accommodates our requests for adjustments is scheduling and will help us out with tasks outside his normal duties. Then, I tried submitting their on-line request form. After, a week, I still hadn't heard back from them. I then followed up with dealfind, and when they were unable to get in touch with them, they refunded my voucher plus 10%. read more

I bought four hours of house cleaning with a trubate. Was having a memorial service for 75 people on Saturday so I requested they come Friday. I have a 1400 sf house so 2 hours with 2 people should have been plenty of time. Each cleaner spent 45 minutes each in the two bathrooms (they are both tiny so not sure what was up with that) and then managed to only clean part of the rest of the house. I had to loan them my vacuum since theirs was terrible. Set up a follow up appointment with them to come a month later since my trubate was for four hours and they never showed. Total waste of money and time. My 6 year old could do better. Dont bother throwing your money away. read more

So I also bought a voucher from Living Social for 3 hours of cleaning service for $75. I wish I would have come on yelp before purchasing and maybe I wouldn't be writing this bad review! After leaving a message, they actually got back to me pretty quickly. The man asked if between 1-2pm would work for me. I stressed that I needed to be leaving my house by 3pm to get to work on time. He assured me him and his partner would be done by 3 if they came at 1:30. I was confused because that was only 1.5 hours. I guess the 3 hours of service is if only one person cleans alone. I thought it was strange that wasn't mentioned in the fine print but I was okay with it because my house is small and he was scheduling me fast (called Tuesday, scheduled for Thursday). 1:30pm comes and no one shows. 2:00pm hits and still no one. I'm pretty frustrated at this point so I give him a call. He answers the first time (which I'm pretty lucky for that according to other reviews). He says he is on his way. I tell him we probably need to reschedule because I have to leave for work in an hour. He seems confused by this and tells me again he is on the way. I ask when he will be at my house and he says another 30 minutes. Seriously?? I let him know I was upset about this because he was supposed to be here at 1:30. He then replied that he got busy and he has no control over the clock. I then expressed that it was very unprofessional to schedule an appointment and plan on showing up an hour late with no phone call. He apologized and asked if I wanted to reschedule for early June. I got off the phone with him to look at my schedule and tend to my screaming two-year-old in the background. After calming my child down and looking at my schedule I called him back (about 5 min). He did not answer. I left him a message saying I was going to get a refund from LivingSocial because I didn't want to wait another week and a half for him to MAYBE come.. I'm giving him one star for seeming like a nice person on the phone when I scheduled my appointment. He mentioned having two young children, like myself, at home and understood that it's hard to keep the house clean. I'm upset it didn't work out better and I will be looking for a new service. read more

STAY AWAY FROM M&J. I had a terrible experience with M&J. I bought a Trubate for two cleanings with two people for two hours. I initially called them to set up the cleanings and got an answering machine. So I left a message. A day and a half goes by with no response, so I call and again get the answering machine and again leave a message. Once more, another day and half goes by with no contact from M&J. So, I call a third time and again get the answering machine. After another day, I finally get a call back from Mause. He is completely disorganized on the phone and can't seem to figure out whether he is available or not for a couple of dates I suggest. After going around in circles with him for 15 minutes, we set up a couple of cleanings. The first cleaning: They don't show up. I call them an hour after they were supposed to be at my apartment and get an answering machine. I get a callback the next day from Mause saying that none of my information or appointments are in their calendar. He is apologetic, and asks me to let him make it up to me. I understand that sometimes things go wrong, so I tell him that all is good and we make another couple of appointments. The first cleaning (part two): The two cleaners show up about 15 minutes early. We are off to a good start here. I am hopeful that they are going to do a good job and the other stuff was just a fluke. Sadly, I am immediately told by the guy that they don't clean apartments with two bathrooms for the Trubate I bought. I argued with the guy that it doesn't say anything like that in the Trubate and if it's not in there, they have to do the job. They guy calls his boss and the boss tells him to make a concession and go ahead with the cleaning. They act as though they are doing me a favor by doing what is included in the Trubate. Cleaning commences. Again, I am hopeful that they will at least be good at the cleaning part, as that is what they are in business to do. The cleaning job is mediocre at best and they have made sure to rearrange the items on every possible counter, desk and tabletop in my apartment. There are a few places where they didn't bother to close a door in order to clean behind it. In short, the cleaning job is sub par. I will say that they stayed the entire two hours. Kudos to them! The second cleaning: They are a full hour late. I call them at about 30 minutes late and have to leave another message. I get a call 15 minutes later from Mause saying that they went over on a previous job and they will be at my place in 15 minutes. This time Mause personally shows up with another person to clean. He seems very nice and is apologetic about being late. He and the other lady start cleaning and again manage to rearrange every item on every surface they possibly can. After 80 minutes into the two hour cleaning, one of the cleaners just leaves without explanation. Five minutes later, Mause says he is leaving too. I tell him there is at least another 30 minutes of time on the Trubate. I ask him to clean my windows and he refuses. He says that windows are not included on the Trubate. I tell him it does not state this on the Trubate and he says that is their policy. After all of this BS, Mause asks me if I want to set up regular cleaning service with them. I tell him I will think about it and he has the nerve to ask me why I would have to think about it. To sum it up, they f**ked up in every way they possibly could and did not follow through on what was promised in the Trubate. M&J are terrible to deal with, downright unreliable and do a mediocre cleaning job. read more

I guess his partner was parking and arrived about 15 minutes later. So I told him what I wanted done, mainly do a complete cleaning of the dust film over everything in the kitchen and wash the windows, and if time allows then move onto other stuff, TBD. He just shrugged and ignored me. They did the most half assed cleaning job I have ever seen. They didn't touch the windows at all, and barely cleaned the kitchen before moving onto other area's that I didn't need done. I had actually handled most of my cleaning needs the day before because I just wanted them to concentrate on the kitchen grime layer. After less that 1.5 hours they said they were done and leaving. I gave them a tip as they ran out the door. And I quickly regretted it as I spent the next hour cleaning up the messes they made on the area's I had already cleaned. And now I still need to clean my kitchen, both the basic cleaning and the more detailed work I asked for. What a huge disappointment! I waited 2 months for this and regret ever buying the deal. I accomplish more in 1.5 hours alone. And I am sure I could have found a lazy teenager high on weed to do a better job for an order of chicken nuggets. It's like they just sprayed cleaning solution around so it would smell good but never touched anything. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to mop my kitchen and scrub the sink before dinner. read more

We called Mause for a last minute cleaning job last week. He was able to come the next day. Notables were the scrubbing of the kitchen cabinets, tea kettle, vent hood and vent filter to remove built-up grease and grime. He even scrubbed our kitchen & bathroom tile on his hands and knees! His attention to detail was so appreciated! We really want to give him 4 & a half stars, but Yelp does not allow for "half-stars". The only reason we did not give a full 5 stars is because our dining table was not cleaned. When we asked him about this oversight, he told us that he did not have the correct cleaning solution. However, if he had told us this at the outset & asked if we had proper wood cleaning product we could have provided it. Still, in the full context of this job, Mause was so conscientious and thorough. We will definitely call upon his business again and recommend him to friends. read more

what a rip off this company is. Don't use them. First of all they are impossible to get a hold of, they never answer the phone. I purchased a voucher from Living Social for 3 hours of house cleaning. I have a 4 bedroom house, 2 people arrived, after 1 1/2 hrs of cleaning, which was about half of my home, they said they had to leave because they ran out of time. Apparently 3 hours if you have 2 people equals 1 1/2 hr each. That's ridiculous I have never heard of such a thing. What a scam, they offer 3 hours of house cleaning on their voucher and then come for 1 1/2 hrs because there are 2 of them? My house was only half cleaned. They didn't clean my master bedroom/bathroom which is what I wanted most. I will NEVER NEVER use them again nor recommend them. Be careful what you purchase on Living Social as well, they were really not much help either. read more
