The food is amazing! The service is incredible (thank you Nick!) I was in town for business for 2 weeks. Despite all the great restaurants in the area I kept coming back to this place. Ate there 4 times during my stay, all different orders. Everything was precisely crafted and very different from any of the other restaurants in town. (Must try the mushroom steak soup ). Additionally, Billy the owner, made me feel at home. He loves to share the story of the town and gave me recommendations of things to do. Ambiance was excellent. Great restaurant in downtown Davenport! We came in from out of town and needed a place to eat late on a Friday. We got a burger and the steak sandwich ale both were delicious. My boyfriend and I are on a road trip from California to Pennsylvania, and ended up stuck in Davenport due to the widespread power outages. We found ourselves at Me & Billy for lunch and were blown away! The food was delicious, the portions were big, the staff was very friendly, and the service was quick and efficient. We ordered the steak fries to start, and then my boyfriend ordered the Bison Burger and I had the Darn Big Grilled Cheese. Every single thing we ate was delicious! Unfortunately, our first experience at Me and Billy, was not stellar. Actually, overall it was barely acceptable. Getting in and getting seated was quick,fast, and efficient. The restaurant was clean and the space well utilized. And about 1/3 of the way full with other diners Including two or three large groups. The folks eating at me and Billy this evening represented a fairly diverse group with ages appearing to range from early twenties through retirement age. The bar area was little bit slow with only four people by the time we left. However, it was a Monday evening. The menu includes a fairly good selection of burgers, some great something salads, and comfort food from good ol' America. Soups included chicken and dumplings. My husband, Zachary ordered the bison burger with house fries. I ordered the Billy burger (burger with an over easy egg on it). Our meal was served quickly. We both started with our fries. They were hot, crisp, and yummy! On to the burgers. . . Zachary's bison burger, according to him was outstanding. Excellent flavor. Cooked perfectly. It was clear that he liked it because it was gone in about three minutes - before I had taken my first bite! The Billy burger's taste fell far short of my expectations. I ordered it rare, it arrived medium-well (brown throughout the thickness of the burger. The burger was extremely salty on top of being over cooked. While getting in and being seated was a flawless process, the service dropped off the grid from there on. We had to ask for water. It was brought by Sophie. Unfortunately, all further communication with the server was initiated by us either asking for her or flagging her down. When I expressed that my burger was over cooked, she said she would see what the kitchen would do about it. I'm still waiting on that answer. We were visiting Davenport for the weekend and rode our bikes to Me and Billy. The bartender was awesome! We sampled a couple of beers and ended up sitting next to Billy the owner. He is a hoot and a great person! We found ourselves staying longer than we had anticipated and enjoying a few cocktails with great conversation! Great food, service and ambiance, and within walking distance of the Hotel Blackhawk. The atmosphere is date worthy and the sound of individual conversations doesn't resonate, so you get some time to yourself. The menu is very accommodating. Some of these chic restaurants have smaller portioned dishes of things you can't pronounce but Me & Billy does a great job of incorporating the simple and the unique. My boss and I were torn between a few different entrees and when I asked our waitress her thoughts on my selections, she said the saucy chicken was her absolute favorite, no questions asked. I must agree. My plate left the table without a spot of food left. Me & Billy offers a rotating menu by season but I believe they keep a few staple items. Will definitely visit again. read more

Well, I knew I had to come here because of the name! My boyfriend and I came and had a wonderful lunch. We ordered the Crab Rangoon Turnovers to start with and they were gone within seconds. I then ordered the Deluxe Darn Big Grilled Cheese and seriously have been dreaming about it since. I live in Chicago but I might have to come back to Iowa just to have that sandwich again. Anytime someone asks for food recommendations in Davenport, I always say Me and Billy. They have great food, service, and overall experience. Everytime I have gone I have always left overly satisfied. The food is amazing and there is not one bad thing on the menu. One appetizer I would recommend is their cheese curds, they are to die for. They aren't just any cheese curds, they melt in your mouth and are delicious. My favorite dishes include all their salads and any of their burgers. Personally I like to build my own, which I love that they give you this option. I have never had a bad experience here and the employees are very friendly and personable. All the employees make the experience even better and are very helpful. I wish I would've found this place sooner as I have lived in the Quad Cities my whole life. Stepping into Me and Billy, I was immediately drawn to the elegant yet inviting atmosphere. The soft lighting and updated decor sets the mood for a great and enjoyable dinner. Also, they have a variety of cocktails and drinks to choose from. I really enjoy their fishbowls and they are great for a group of people. And by having a bar area in the restaurant it's a great place to go with coworkers or friends to hangout. Me and Billy is an amazing place to go for birthdays or any special occasion. I have brought several friends here for dinner and they are always pleased when leaving. I wish they were open everyday because there are occasional Sundays and Mondays where I have wanted to go. Super solid cocktails (hello old-fashioned!) and a well-rounded beer selection, plus daily specials. Very pleasant weekday lunch. I do not consume meat so was pleased that the menu specifically listed veggie burger. I've tasted many, and it seems that the Me and Billy version is their own. It's quite good on flavor and consistency. The accompanying fries were standard; nothing to write home about, nor did I expect to. I ordered the tomato and cucumber side. Really good place for inexpensive dinner. The four of us went on a Wednesday night and were seated at a table in the center of the room. I had a Billy Burger (served with an egg on top) and fries. The fries were uninspiring, but the burger was excellent. They have an extensive list with lots of selections from local breweries. Everyone liked their meals. The ambiance is very modern, with lots of windows and good people watching of the Davenport scene. It's apparently locally owned. One star was sacrificed because of the noise level. It's one open room and as loud as a middle school cafeteria. We just spoke loudly and it was fine. But a good acoustic engineer could add some padding under the tables, or whatever they do... The hostess who works every time we've been there has been nothing but rude every time we've gone. Modern restaurant downtown Davenport with an excellent beer and food selection. Additionally, the bartenders, wait staff, and hostess were very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is really cool. The reason for the 3/5 stars stems from receiving an undercooked medium bison burger. I ate almost half hoping I hit a more redder spot than normal, but had to quit once I noticed how rare it was from the red juice (blood). I cook bison burgers frequently and know it appears redder than beef, but I know red juice is rare. I will give this place another go as I loved the bison burger's taste until I had to quit, next time I'm going medium-well. read more
