The staff was welcoming, and they let me sample the jalapeno macaroni and cheese, which I loved! I'm not too fond of jalapenos, and I have a low tolerance for spicy food. However, the jalapenos had a minimal spicy kick. I ordered the rib plate with my choice of side, which I chose the jalapenos macaroni and cheese, and a fountain drink for approximately 18.00. The ribs were okay, but they grew on me with each bite, and I liked the BBQ sauce. The highlight of my meal was the jalapenos macaroni and cheese! The restaurant has dine-in tables. The "moist" brisket, (there was a a choice of dry?) is very good but the portions are small and the prices are high. I ordered a baked potato, no meat but loaded. It was cooked a day earlier, it was cold in the middle, and that gray/brown tint from being old. It was terrible. My granddaughter (teenager) ordered the rib combo, again very little meat, okay in flavor and small side portion. Both brisket and ribs included a small order of pinto beans which had brisket and way too much sugar in them. If you order brisket to go you will be fine. This is one I won't go back to. read more

We purchased 1 pound moist brisket 1 pound jalapeño cheddar sausage 1 pint of jalapeño mac 2 drinks. $80 for trash The brisket is ALL FAT and is DAYS old. No smoke ring, no taste. Our son and daughter-in-law suggested we stop here and grab dinner to bring to their house. With the name of the restaurant, we didn't expect much. Boy were we wrong. Not much to look at on the outside, in fact we didn't even notice it, and very institutional on the inside, this restaurant more than made up for that with excellent service and outstanding food. Two gentlemen greeted us when we approached the counter of this fast casual restaurant. Hearing that we were first timers, they immediately offered suggestions and, more importantly, samples. We sampled three items and ordered all there of them. First was the "Famous" Peppered Tenderloin. I have had lots of tenderloin over the years and this was as tender and flavorful as any offered at high end restaurants for triple the price. We also had a sliced brisket sandwich that was also very very tasty and huge. I could barely eat half of it, so that meant outstanding leftovers for dinner the next day. The half chicken was the third excellent meat offering and it too was moist and flavorful. The fourth main was the brisket without a bun. We tried lots of sides - jalapeno bacon mac 'n cheese, country style potato salad, notcha momma's slaw and southern style creamed corn. Corn and slaw were outstanding. Potato salad was good. Mac 'n Cheese needed more spice to live up to its name. For takeaway, they packed everything very thoroughly for the drive home. Although there are some other BBQ restaurants closer to our home with much more well-known names (Marty B, 407), I would put the food here above both of them. Probably wouldn't do sit-down dining here, but if you are anywhere in the area looking for takeaway or someone to cater, this should be the first choice. read more

Now I understand why the parking lot was empty at 8pm. I had been here several years ago for lunch and it was ok. With Hutchins less than a block away and Hard Eight nearby, this place needs to go ahead and shut down. Maybe because it was close to their 8:30pm closing time, there was no tea so they gave us a bottle. But to worry about not making a whole fresh pot of tea, makes me surprised as the chopped and sliced brisket tasted like it was made several days ago, and the ribs were so overcooked my 9 yr old bit right through the bone asking us what 'that' is. The fries were the only fresh thing here. Very limited menu to order from as all meats are by the pound. Make your own combinations. Variety of sides but the Mac & cheese penne pasta was mush and I was fearful to eat much of the creamed corn, even though my husband and daughter liked it. Nice building and atmosphere. And the guy at the counter was spectacular. Great service. We were starving and had driven from OKC specifically for a day of BBQ and this was our first stop. We tried most of the meat (aside from the pulled pork), Cole slaw, Mac n cheese, and beans. The brisket was excellent. The bark was plentiful and delicious. Probably the best brisket we had all day. The ribs were ok, nothing special but certainly not bad. The sausage was delicious although not smoky. I would love a couple links in the morning with eggs. The sides were delicious too. I really liked the penne Mac n cheese, but the coleslaw and beans were even better. Very solid BBQ. Saturday evening we were out and about, decided to give this place a try. We ordered 1 lb brisket (half moist half sliced), 1/2 lb pulled pork, creamed corn, and the Mac n cheese. This is a counter service restaurant but the staff was friendly and quick. The brisket was pretty good, it was moist and had good bark. I'm not usually a big fan of pulled pork but this might have been the best pulled pork I've had in DFW. The sauce was very peppery, I tend to like mine a bit sweeter, but neither needed it (if I were doing a sandwich, it would have been different). The sides were just ok. The Mac was pretty mushy, but the flavor was good, and the corn was VERY creamy, we tried to squish extra out between bites (again, the valor was good nut definitely could have used more corn). One of our favorite BBQ pits. I wanted to do a review on this cold winter day in TX to rave about the burnt end stew. If you haven't had your fix yet, run don't walk. It's a meal in a bowl. Flavorful tomato based broth with chunks of burnt ends, huge chunks of their famous baked potato's and sweet carrots just the right amount of seasoning. It is delicious! read more

As I was looking at my $45 2 meat plate that looked like a happy meal portion, I had to think what the heck am I doing with my life. While this location is much better to where we live, the food is not the same as the grapevine location. Servers act like they couldn't care less, and since Hutchins moved in nearby, I find little reason to go back to Meat U Anywhere. I'm not sure what happened, but it is pretty sad. First time visitor .... The smell walking in was intoxicating! We came to try the breakfast tacos and were not disappointed. Bacon, egg, cheese, potato and beans .... 5 stars. Jalapeño sausage cheese and egg - the sausage is lights out. Forget the name of the "kitchen sink" taco (brisket, chorizo and more)... was lights out. Amazing deal for around $5 each. This place is probably going to be a problem for me. Why? Two words. Breakfast Tacos. Meat U Anywhere is open from 6am till they run out of food and have a very good selection of BBQ'd meats to choose from. When I go to new BBQ places I generally get x# of ounces of whatever sausage and turkey they have available but my head almost exploded when I saw they breakfast tacos were available all day long. So! I got the 3 tacos! Brisket, Egg, and Cheese; Jalapeno Sausage, Egg, and Cheese; and finally the Chorizo, Egg, and Cheese. Honestly, that's the order that I will rank them as well. The eggs were perfectly fluffy and soft, the tortillas were hot and the Brisket was excellent. A close second was the Jalapeno Sausage burrito. The Chorizo was very good, but it wasn't at the same level the other two. I honestly can't wait to go back. The reason why I took one star off was due to the fact that my wife didn't love her chopped brisket sandwich as much as she has at other locations. Don't get me wrong, it was still good, just not her favorite, and if she's not perfectly happy then I can't give 5 stars. This is a reluctant 3-Star Rating, because I do like Meat U Anywhere. Everyone who works there is friendly. I've eaten here about 10 times. I've had the brisket, sausage, ham, most of the sides, and a loaded potato. I've found the food to be inconsistent. Two of three times, it's fantastic! With the exception of the fries, which I love, I find the sides to be so-so. I would probably give this a 4-Star if it were just me. My wife won't eat here after two disappointments. She loves loaded potatoes with chopped brisket. On her first visit, the potato was overcooked. On her "one more try" visit, the potato itself was bad. It should have been tossed out before cooking. As such, I only eat here on the rare occasion that I'm eating solo and I want to accept the gamble because the location is convenient. read more

Husband loves BBQ and sometimes I let him pick. Lol. Nice little place, very clean. We went around 1600 so it was not busy at all. Food was served fresh and piping hot especially the Mac and cheese. Only negative we had was the sweet tea wasn't anything to write home about. And there was no pickles which would have been wonderful on the sandwich. I, for one, would have liked mustard on the table. There was only ketchup and bbq sauce. But the BBQ sauce was DANK! This is the stew Grandma made. You'll know it as the hearty soup cooked for hours with potatoes, carrots, tomato, and celery with just the right seasoning.
