Moving is always stressful. I highly recommend hiring Meathead Movers in Fresno for an easy transition into your new living space. The three movers I had were easily able to disassemble my bed, carry my heavy boxes, and carry place everything in my new home within 2.5 hours. The moving crew themselves were great, fun guys, worked hard. They took little breaks here and there, stood around sometimes to watch others move heavy stuff, and even shot baskets in my driveway for a bit, but I had no issue with that since it kept morale up. I tipped them with items I simply did not have time to sell before moving valued around $2,000 and they were very grateful and happy about it. Unfortunately, two issues popped up that the company did not handle satisfactorily at all. 1. We had an outdoor furniture set that included a fire pit and an end table that was hollow inside and held the propane tank for the fire pit. The end table was just a frame that held the propane tank and the table piece that slid over the top. They lost the frame piece, and since the furniture line is discontinued, I cannot procure a replacement. They told me they check the trucks when they get back to the headquarters, but that simply cannot be true because it is a 100% undeniable fact that they loaded it into the truck and did not unload it at my house. This renders the entire fire pit useless unless I commission a custom frame to be built so the propane tube can safely be routed from the end table piece to the fire pit piece again. 2. More importantly, the moving crew accidentally stole my moving dolly. It was a simple black dolly from Home Depot worth ~$100, and I'm not surprised it was taken because Meathead told me themselves that they buy all their dollies at Home Depot as well, so it was likely the same model. Normally, this wouldn't be a huge deal, but the movers came on Wednesday, and we had to be completely out of the house by Friday. There was still 2 refrigerators, a washer, and a dryer in the house, which I had sold and set appointments to be picked up Friday morning. Lo and behold I show up Friday morning and my dolly is gone, so I have to cancel on 2 of the people because they don't have a dolly to get the items out of the house. I called Meathead and Brayden told me I could not speak to anyone but him and they would call me back. He became very rude when I told him I needed to know now whether I needed to go buy a new dolly immediately, or if someone would be bringing it back shortly. I explained how much it would cost me not knowing what the plan was, he did not care at all and robotically repeated that someone would call me back. Brayden needs to be moved to a position that is not customer facing considering he got noticeably frustrated and snappy in face of basic questions. Surprise, no one ever called me back for over a week. I had to re-sell 2 of the appliances that same-day for less money than I had originally to people who could move the items themselves. $300 less total to be exact, so Meathead directly cost me $300 + my $100 dolly (which they still never returned) + the cost of the fire pit frame + hours extra of my time dealing with all the hassle. I requested $500 back, which is fair given the direct loss of money they caused me and the ~$2500 total cost of moving. They gave me a veiled threat of "I can give you $250 now or you can take your chances with our claims department" and wouldn't budge, even after I paid $58 extra up front for additional damage/loss coverage. Extremely dishonest and they clearly don't care about repeat business or referrals, only about maximizing profit. I told them plainly I would not be satisfied with any resolution that wasn't $500, and they did not care one bit. I wasn't trying to negotiate a crazy rate, but simple, provable reimbursement for what I lost because of them. Long story short, the crew did a good job moving the stuff that actually made it to my house, but the company is dishonest and greedy and doesn't care what happens once the crew leaves your house. Anyone who has ever moved knows that there is ALWAYS something that comes up, and Meathead fails miserably in the follow up, which I consider to be the most important aspect when it comes to moving companies. read more

Great crew!I had packers the day before who did a wonderful and thorough job, being careful of my belongings. The movers came the next day. I had a split move, half of my stuff going to storage. They did an amazing job organizing my storage unit and getting all the right stuff in storage and at the house, paying attention to what went where. They were quick and careful and did a great job. The unpackers were amazing. They unpacked quickly and put away most of my stuff and did an amazing job. This is the second time I have used this company and I would highly recommend them. I was moved into a storage unit and both men went out of their way to make it a less stressful experience On 2/11/21. Always courteous, hard workers and got everything done quickly and efficiently. Upbeat and very efficient. Managed to get everything into a unit that wasn't very large and had a bit of room to spare. Do not recommend this business to anyone! I contracted with them for a small move (less then 15 items mostly small) for my 91 year old mother-in-law. They claimed we went over the two hour time limit by two minutes and upped the price from $378.00 to $519.75. Outrageous! Classic case of bait and switch! Don't use them. We hired them to help move our 5 bedroom house- furniture and large appliances, not boxes and misc items. They showed up somewhat unprepared and had another team drop off a dolly and used my husbands power tools but, no big deal. They worked at a steady rate, they were personable and friendly. They weren't able to help with the fridge because of electrical circuiting so watched for about 30 minutes while we tried to remove a fridge door. Also not the worst but somewhat disappointing. Once we got to the new house, they unloaded all the furniture and weren't able to correctly reassemble my daughters trundle bed. After they left, we discovered the motor in our smaller couch was broken. They were there from about 9:30-7:00 working and we paid approximately $4k. For how much we paid, having a broken couch and misassembled bed frame really sucked and I wish we had used another company. It was not worth the price and the response was giving us an hour of unboxing but, as they weren't able to do it right the first time I can't see how that was actually helpful. The entire company is run by college age kids that want to get job done, but really arent concerned if they damage anything. Sadly i would never recommend or use this company again. We are in the middle of our move but wanted to post our experiences thus far. Justin was our estimator and consultant to enter into the agreement to use Meathead Movers for this transition. We are in the cusp of what is considered a local move and he was thorough, helpful and genuinely awesome to work with. Answered any and all questions, gave us a direct line and put to bed any fears that we had about entrusting our items to their teams. Now for the packers...I can sum it up in one word. AWESOME. Details though, are that Krista H., Gabby M., and Milana C. were nothing short of spectacular. They arrived on time, introduced themselves and went straight to work. Their teamwork and individual skill sets them at the highest bar for their profession. They were able to take an entire 4 bedroom house and organize, protect and pack 189 boxes in one day! They would have had the garage done same day too but with the heat, I preferred to quit early (before their normal shift) and tackle it in the morning for cooler temps. Every box was labeled and staged out of the way so we could continue to "live" in the home for 2 days until the movers show up. We did not elect for the unpacking service because I really want to purge un needed items bu going through every box myself. But I strongly believe it would have garnered them another 5 stars. Thank you so much!!! I will update this post on Monday after the move portion but so far, I would not even consider an alternate moving company. Ok, so they delivered all of our goods yesterday. Huge shout-out to Francisco L., Dan R., Josh B., Frank M. & Steve M. Outstanding work! Hot days but they unloaded everything into our new two-story home with such great attitudes. Took all of the precautionary steps and such but their smiles and willingness to help in any way was very refreshing! Only one item had to be brought back downstairs after it didn't work where we had expected. No fuss at all, they wrapped it back up and brought it down. Our experience with Meathead Movers was the best moving experience from start to finish! From quote inquiry calls to meeting with the service representative (Ali) was excellent! Ali was great in communicating and meeting with us to discuss our move. Also, I appreciated the weekly calls/follow-ups prior to our move date. Moving Day was bomb.com! We had a little hiccups due to the rain but the guys that came we're awesome despite the weather. They we're great communicators before arriving and during the move. Jacob, Michael and Eric were awesome going through all the inventory listed and what we had in our home. They we're thorough with what we needed and handling out items with care. I didn't think they would work so fast and loading our items into the truck so efficiently. They even offered to vacuum after taking down our beds. Once we got to the storage facility, it started to pour cats and dogs. The guys we're great in working efficiently trying to make sure our items don't get wet. I was happy to see them handle our paintings and fragile items with extra care due to the rain. Also, they even re-wrapped our sectional to make it wouldn't get soaked as they were transferring it from the truck to the our storage. Our representative, Ali, allocated about 5 hours for the move and the guys finished the move in 2 1/2 hours. I'm so pleased with everything Meathead Movers had done for us! What a GREAT experience! I am a Realtor at Guarantee Real Estate, after selling a house my clients moved to Northern California. They asked if I can help sell their furniture. A lovely couple purchased it but was not able to move it from point A to Point B. Also they can't do any heavy lifting. After being disappointed by another moving company who's verbal quote was nothing like the contract AND canceled on me twice. I found Meathead Movers GREAT price, had all the tools to break down the furniture, all the padding, and all I had to do was sit there and look pretty. These guys came in and worked so fast and made sure no time was wasted. They made sure all the furniture was tightly wrapped and strapped. I received an email from Meathead a few weeks after my move stating that I had accidentally been overcharged $76 and that they had already refunded the money. They could have kept it and I wouldn't have known the difference! I couldn't have asked for a better moving company. They also help move victims of domestic violence free of charge, which is awesome. BAD BAD BAD!! All around BAD. If you want a stressful move and be extorted for more money on move day, please hire Meathead Movers. I hired a moving company to have a stress free move, jokes on me I guess. I had a person come out and estimate my move. I got an estimate sheet and since I have not used a moving company before I took them at their word. Things were coded in a way that I didn't fully understand, but based on the reviews I accepted their quote and hired them. Getting an email response from the estimator was like pulling teeth. I would send an email and get short answers, and when asked for them to call me, crickets. I believed in the mission of Meathead Movers so I chalked it up to busy students. Move day comes and about half way through loading the truck the loaders come to me and said they could load about 10 more boxes and some of my furniture and the rest will have to stay and I would have to figure out another way to get my stuff moved. To be fair the lead loader did make some calls to try to help me out, turns out for an additional $1000 they could load as many items to the truck as they could. After they extorted me out of $1000. They actually filled to the rim, but I was left with about a quarter of my garage still full. I had to scramble to get it all moved by midnight. I had to have someone drive from where my items would be moved to 3 hours away rent a uhaul, drive it down to me, hire extra people to help load the uhaul, and them drive back the 3 hours. Needless to say I ended the day at 3AM, pissed, tired, and feeling ripped off. Since the move happened on Saturday and the unloading on Sunday, Monday happened to be a holiday so I had to wait until Tuesday to speak to someone about this situation. Didn't get to the correct person until Wednesday. Apparently Allison is the only person in the entire company that can make decisions on refunding money so I am now at her mercy listening to her defend the employees that made these mistakes. Fun Fact: Turns out that they don't even have a big enough truck to hold all my stuff so literally all this could have been avoided if the estimate would have been accurate. I am hoping they will do the right thing and make this right. read more

Mine was a fairly simple, straightforward move (having packed a lot of boxes beforehand), but when Sal's team arrived in the morning (on time!) and finished packing those annoying last minute items (like the entire kitchen...(but not the sink)...and wrapping up the bedrooms. The next day, the two vans were packed by noon and on their way to my new home down south in Menifee, CA. Sal and his crew arrived early and ready to unpack, just as promised. The unloading went smoothly and the crew left shortly after lunch. I did have a bit of minor damage to a recliner due to the move, but Meathead management handled it quickly and effectively. Tiago and Isaiah were great! They were kind and efficient. I appreciated their help with my move. I had most of my personal belongings in storage for over a year. While the guys were loading the items from my storage unit, I got to sit in the VIP chair and just relax. Find another company. I used Meathead 3 weeks ago for a move and they showed up and stood around for 30 min looking at furniture, instead of moving it. I had to ask them 4 times to get started because I was on a tight timeline and while they were polite, they weren't concerned about my time. Everything is prearranged with the company, but the guys that arrive have no idea what they're doing until they arrive and start the whole assessment process over. They're over-priced compared to other movers also (don't take my word for it - compare them and see) and they'll nickel and dime you to death over time (see below) and silly furniture "names." A small desk, end table, coffee table, lamp stand, etc. can all be subjectively "named" and they won't budge until they have a name for it. They claim to jog the whole time, but that's definitely not the case. Since you're charged for time, they make sure to take as much as possible. Even for small, light boxes or handheld items, I watched them walk, not run, to and from the truck. They took 2 1/2 times as long as promised, I paid over double what we originally agreed and I moved 20% of the furniture for them to keep the process going! I couldn't supervise them every minute they were working, but if you hire them, supervise them. They took "breaks" whenever my back was turned. read more

I was so disappointed in these movers!!! Started out great with everything we needed !!! They told us they would be able to move everything from our old house to our new house 10 miles away!!! They sent 6 very excellent young men !!! They loaded both trucks but couldn't load all our pictures our mirrors our clothes and lots of shelves and furniture!!! We paid them 4300 dollars and had to rent a large u haul truck and hire last minute people to help us !!! We had to make 2 trips more!!! No one I talked to has ever heard of a company half moving you and charging that kind of money and leaving us with so much to do ourselves that we were not prepared for!!! Very happy with our office move! Estimate was clear and concise. They were very responsive and kept me informed every step of the way. We had a few very expensive computer builds that we did not want loaded onto a moving truck, but rather put into our vehicles. They were happy to bubble wrap it all, carry it down the stairs, and load it right into our vehicle. Before our move, I kept telling my husband that they run in between loading/unloading, and he challenged me in saying that it was probably just their slogan! Well, he was totally proven wrong! They booked it, up and down the stairs in between loading/unloading. It was awesome! They were all college kiddos, which we loved! They were super respectful of our things, and each other. I'll have to admit moving is not one of my favorite things to do. We had a limited amount of time and instead of getting a Uhaul, convincing friends to come over and help, and busting our backs, we decided to give Meathead movers a call. I had seen the their moving truck several times in my previous neighborhood and was impressed that they would run back and forth from the moving truck. I setup an appointment and was contacted by a manager who met with me in person. He was very professional and explained everything to me in detail in regards to their service and what to expect. We then came up with a game plan and walked through each section of my home to take inventory of items that were to be moved. He then provided me with a detailed breakdown of all the items that needed to be moved and explained the total cost which was a range based upon the number of items and hours it took to complete the move. We set a move date, which was exactly the date I had requested. On move day the Meathead mover's truck arrived and we briefly went over what needed to be moved. After about 5 to 10 minutes of arriving, they began carefully wrapping my furniture in protective material and loaded it onto their truck. It only took about 1.5-2 hours to load the truck with all of the items, which was extremely impressive as they would run back and forth from the truck when they weren't carrying items. Once the truck was loaded they drove to my new residence and immediately began unloading items. We were provided with a Meathead mover's chair and just sat back and pointed out where we wanted the items to be placed. The unloading portion only took about 1 hour to complete and they were finished before we knew it. They took great care to ensure that none of our items were damaged and that no walls, doors, or fixtures were damaged at either residence. We greatly appreciated this! Payment was easy and quick at the end of the move. I would highly recommend Meathead movers if you are planning a move whether it be big or small. I called today looking for a company to move my office. They were able to send a team of two movers in the afternoon. I was grateful for same day service. The movers were very polite and considerate with my furniture. Overall, they did a good job. They did the job in three hours. A team of three movers might have finished in two hours. The job consisted of banker boxes, lamps, a desk, 2 piece hutch, file cabinet, and book shelf. They had to use the elevator as my office was on the second floor. They dropped off my items 5 miles away. Their pricing is somewhat different from my previous experiences. They charged about $170 per hour for a truck and two movers. My cost was just over $500. They charged double time if the move was longer than 15 minutes. Two minor complaints that kept me from giving them a five star rating. First, I think their pricing is on the high side. $85 per man/hour. That's car mechanic hours. In my mind, I think a fair price would have been less than $40 per mover. When I used movers before, I was charged $30 an hour per mover. They did charge my mileage, however. My cost moving was about $150 cheaper than today. I had a 4 man team that knocked it out in two hours. They had 5 more miles between sites and had to move the furniture upstairs. Second, I am a fan of at least a three man moving team. Three movers are efficient to justify the extra man. Heavier items get onto trucks faster. Today, my two man team got stuck a couple of times trying to get the heavier items from the ground into the truck. The lift was not level to the ground, but was angled so that one end would be flush to the ground to allow for the wheels. When the items would be wheeled onto the lift, both movers were busy hold the items on the lift so it would not roll off. A third person would have helped in reaching the switch to lift the ramp without upsetting the balancing. I jumped in to help so as to keep the process moving efficiently. Overall, good job. They would have gotten 5 stars if their pricing was fairer and had a third mover to speed up the move. read more
