I enjoyed the welcoming, hospitable service from the gracious owner, the reasonable prices and the generous portions during my opening week dine-in lunch visit. The shawarma platter ($11.99) included choice of soup or a side salad, a side of hummus, a bottomless basket of pita bread and good portions of moist, white chicken and moist, flavorful rice. The sides were served with a smile five minutes after I ordered at the table, while the entrée was served 25 minutes later. Everything was very good. I especially liked the tasty hummus. I found the dining area to be clean and comfortable with Mediterranean background music and plenty of natural light. I also noticed a private dining area with room for six. The menu included appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, desserts and meals for the kiddos with many vegan and vegetarian options. There was a 4% credit card surcharge. Overall, very nice!

Great food, great service, clean and new restaurant! Chicken schwarma platter was great, lentil soup is tasty, and the star of the show was the kibbeh!!! Oh and I cannot say enough how much I love their "cucumber sauce," a.k.a. tzatziki. Will add more after we have it again.

The food was sooo good! They've only been open about 2 weeks, so I anticipate them to just keep improving.

Falafel, stuffed grape leaves and hummus.

Great experience!…read more The food was great! I'm always a bit iffy on getting Asian-inspired foods but was NOT disappointed by the Asian Melt! It was a great balance of spicy and sweet, juicy tender meat with crispy sesame bread. I actually completely forgot to take a picture before eating (smelled and looked so good I kinda just went for it w/o thinking lol) but it was really delicious! I did remember to snap a photo of the ooey gooey butter cake w/ strawberry and whipped cream! Oh my gosh, if I could, I would eat that for any special event in my life for the rest of my life! The strawberry does great at cutting some of the richness from the cake! Last but not least, the staff were super kind and friendly! Absolutely made the food truck experience pleasant and fun:)

Honestly, I probably just chose the wrong thing bc this was a bit too heavy for me. I wish there was something breaking up the monotony of textures (the chicken & pork were both pulled- I wonder if diced/fried chicken might work) and flavors (the sweetness of the BBQ sauce overpowered the buffalo sauce). Again, this is on me, but I hadn't realized the Buff-a-que doesn't come with a slaw, but this might have been a good addition. However, the bread was perfectly toasted & buttery, and I appreciated that they provide chips as a side. Can't comment on ambiance; service was fast and friendly. 6/10 would maybe recommend, I'd try another sandwich next time!

Cold subs are my passion, they are my weakness. I had literal mafia family who owned a butcher and…read more"grinder" shop in Connecticut and I'd visit them as an 8 yr old to which they would stuff me full of food. This was the start of my love affair that still runs hot today. Excluding mom and pop restaurants, Jersey Mikes is by far the best of all chain restaurants. Jersey Mikes located off in Olathe was my first ever experience with the chain and forever etched it into my favorite chain for Subs! The hallmark of any great subshop is first quality meats and secondly them slice them to order. While a lot of shops now slice their own meats and cheeses, I believe Jersey Mikes was the first chain to do so (check me on that if wrong but I worked at Subway in the 90s and we didn't). With this info always in my mind, I'm always confident that no matter what Jersey Mikes I go to, it will be consistent and the way I like it, b/c I always order in person)! Next, they do bake their bread so another huge win in my book as most just proof up frozen bread which is devoid of the little touches. Finally, the owner was there and was an extremely friendly guy and genuinely excited to take my order! I admit, I'm a cold sub fiend and you can keep the hot subs (sorry Philly). I've literally had every one of their subs but I hold true to the original Italian. Every time I get mine, it's literally a salad on bread. A little bit of onion, lots of lettuce, tomatoes, a couple pickles, 2 japs, S&P, Oregano, lots of mayo, lots of oil, a bit of vinegar but I wish they had olives..... Mine is perfection, brought on by my countless visits and endless tinkering. Good thing I don't work there! My kids got the ham and swiss with just mayo. Granted they're young but I'm not going to argue with them if they're happy. As for the Xwife (sorry a slight lag in writing this) she got the turkey & cheese with mayo, lettuce and tomato. While she didn't die..... she did love the sub (sorry dark humor there). It was our go to spot for many years. Also note they used to serve pizza! That's correct, they were one of 3 pilot Jersey Mike's to serve pizza in addition to the subs. I'll be the first to admit, I thought it was pretty darn good and smart to combine the two American favorites. Alas they no longer serve pizza so you'll just have to opt for one of the many other options (my advice is Detroit style with Italian sausage, onions, tomatoes, olives). Back to the point the whole family was happy. In summary, the store is very clean and safe, while the staff are very nice. Admittedly if you've been to one Jersey Mike's you've basically been to them all. So, I'm basically here saying the say thing as a repeated record as I've lived all over the place and travel frequently. This store is on par with all other locations so shop in confidence you'll get the best sub around!

The sauce? I would want more of a classic KC style sauce that is thick and coats the meat, but the flavor of the ribs makes up for it. Pair it with your favorite sauce and it's a 10/10.

I've found our new favorite restaurant for our weekly BBQ fix at J's BBQ! This was my second visit…read morein three weeks, and I can't rave enough about the food, ambiance, and service. My first trip was with my teenage son who loves ribs. We went for their unbeatable Wednesday/Saturday $18 full rack rib special. We shared the ribs and still had plenty left to take home. The meat was tender, smoky, and perfectly cooked. The BBQ beans were outstanding with just the right balance of smokiness and sweetness, and the seasoned crinkle-cut fries were addictive. This past weekend I brought the whole family of five. We're longtime regulars at KC Joe's, so I was a little nervous about a potential mutiny , but everyone loved it! My wife's face lit up the moment we walked in. She said it felt like a cozy restaurant we'd stumble upon while on vacation. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming with plenty of comfortable booths, warm lighting, and that perfect smoky BBQ aroma that hits you right when you enter. I went with the sausage and brisket combo, and it easily holds its own against most of the BBQ I grew up eating in Texas. One child ordered the kid's hot dog meal, and it was one of the best hot dogs I've tasted. Another got the brisket "Sloppy Mess" sandwich, and my wife had the shredded pork sandwich. Every single plate was a hit, and the whole family agreed we've found a new favorite. The owner was incredibly friendly and took the time to chat with us about how he opened the restaurant. It's always great to see that kind of passion! My only feedback is that I wish they stayed open a bit later. They close at 7pm on Sundays and 8pm the rest of the week. With a 20-minute drive from Overland Park and a family of five to wrangle, we could roll up right around closing time. A little extra time would make it perfect which I anticipate will happen the more people discover them. All in all, J's BBQ has officially earned a regular spot in our weekly rotation. If you're in the area and craving quality BBQ in a family-friendly setting, do yourself a favor and check it out!
