Wow, dare I say the BEST Mediterranean food I have ever had in my life at Medi Bistro. We had a private party where they served us in a private space on an upper level of the restaurant. I was dropped off by an uber, but if you're driving here, there is validated parking in a structure or affordable pricing in a lot adjacent to the building. Since we were there for a private event, we were lucky to be able to try a good variety of their menu. My boyfriend really enjoyed their Lamb Kabob, Beef Sirloin Kabob and Koobideh. I really loved the Shirasi Salad, Hummus, Pita, Mirza Ghasemi (a smoked eggplant), Chicken Koobideh, and Sea Bass. We were also spoiled with desserts and I was able to try their Baklava and Persian Ice Cream. Yummmm! What a glorious feast. You truly can't go wrong with any of their menu items here.

Had a simple but fantastic lunch here! Pita bread and dips are complimentary and delicious. Had the marinated mushroom and hummus appetizer which was creamy goodness. For my entree I had the chicken barg which was juicy and full of flavor. Service was excellent too. I will definitely be back.

I had an amazing and unique dining experience today for lunch. Recently opened Medi Bistro offers a variety of MEDITERRANEAN-PERSIAN dishes. The restaurant is designed in a beautiful modern space with Persian influences. There is a large bar to the right of the entrance with several large screen TVs. We sat at one of the comfortable high back booths which would sit at least 4 people. They have onsite parking leading into the restaurant so when the weather is bad it's a nice bonus not to have to venture outdoor. When you leave the attendant in the lobby will validate your ticket so make sure you hold on to it. A full menu is on display before you enter the restaurant as well as online. A lunch menu is not available on weekends only dinner available on Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to 11 pm. Our waitress Chelsey helped us decide on starters as well as explained some of the side and main dishes we had questions for. She checked on us several times and what I believe is the owner stopped by to say hello. When she saw our complimentary grilled pita slices were low she asked another staff member to deliver more. He also brought us another two of the sauces. One is yogurt based and the other she explained in more depth because I found it unique and delicious. It was made with cilantro, hot peppers, lots of vinegar and I think lemon juice. It was different from anything sauce I've ever had and I loved it. A condiment jar on the table had sumac in it. We sprinkled that on our pita which added a citrus flavor. Also sprinkled on everything else we ate to get a full feel for the spice. I wouldn't mind putting it on just about anything! Their food philosophy is designed to share and share we did. The first dish, a fried eggplant in tomato sauce was recommended by Chelsey. It was a good dish to scoop and eat up with the delicious grilled pita points. I favored the Dolmeh myself: vegetable, rice, special herbs wrapped in grape leaves topped with pomegranate sauce. They were similar to Greek dolmades but these were served warm. They offer enough wines by the glass as well as specialty cocktails to satisfy your drink appetite. I was pleased with the LA VIEILLE FERME rosé from French. It was well balanced with fruity aromas and a smooth finish. They served it in a large wine class with a good big pour. My adult daughter had the Anar Sour made with bourbon/laphroaig, pomegranate syrup, lemon also served in a large wine glass filled to the top. Our main entrees were a lamb and shrimp dish served with the most wonderful saffron basmati rice I've ever eaten. Each dish comes with a side that you can substitute with a different rice, beans or grains from the side/substitute part of their menu. The large lamb shank cooked with Persian lime, turmeric, dill was tender and flavorful. It came with fava bean saffron basmati rice. My daughter doesn't like fava beans so they omitted it and on her request served mostly plain basmati with a few saffron threads on top. My shrimp kabob cooked with saffron, orange zest and pistachio basmati rice is a dish I will long remember. It was excellent. The shrimp were grilled with a slight char served on the place along the rice. Oh that rice was heavenly. Each strand of rice was perfectly separated and infused saffron and orange. It was exquisite. Who would have thought I had room for dessert? I couldn't resist with so many unique options. With Chelsey's help I decided on the puff pastry filled with custard and whipped cream, topped with sour cherry. A cappuccino along with dessert was a good way to end a memorable dining experience. The restaurant staff is very personable, receptive and all around nice while still being professional. I can't wait to return.

This is a classy, yet affordable restaurant with great food and ambience. There is a parking garage next door and they validate your ticket. The food came out piping hot and was plentiful. The staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive. I highly recommend

Medi is located in an office building very close to the White Plains Metro North train station. It is not necessary in the "heart" of the downtown White Plains Mamaroneck Avenue area but very accessible by both car and foot. The restaurant is very beautifully decorated and even though in the building lobby, the artwork and ambiance is very pleasing. Medi offers a great variety of Persian food delights including Kabobs, Rices and other delicious foods and options. The service is top notch, very attentive and professional. The wait staff are very friendly and familiar with the menu options, so if you are not familiar with Persian food, they will not steer you wrong. The only shortfall is that $30 plus for a kabob dish can be interpreted as pricey. Perhaps the great service, wonderful atmosphere and delicious food make up for the slightly elevated prices?

Absolutely incredible. We had a chance find while searching on Yelp and were so pleasantly surprised. The eggplant paste appetizer with the lamb shank are an absolute must have. It may not be easy to find the place from the street as it's inside what looks like an office building. But it's right through the lobby. You can just park in the office building parking and they will validate the tocket for you. Adding a menu photo here since we couldn't see a full shot on other pics.

Amazing Persian food in an elegant dining set up. Persian ice cream is amazing. You can park in the same building and have the parking ticket validated by the security person in the lobby. It's nice to be able to dine without worrying about parking time. Entrance to the parking is on S Lexington avenue.

I hadn't had mediterranean in a while and I'm not head over heels for the place near me so I wanted to try something new. This place seemed decent enough. I ordered a greek salad and hummus with pita. There were varying gyros, another greek salad with chicken, some platters including the falafel platter that GF orderd. My salad was wonderful. The ingredients were fresh and that dressing was lovely. It was a salad I actually enjoyed instead of regretting the entire time I glared at my coworkers who ordered real shit with envy. The hummus was also very creamy, authentic hummus with a slightly different taste than I am used to but head and shoulders above any store bought bullshit. Everyone else said good shit about their food. I tried one of GF's falafel from her platter and it was really good. My only complaint is for $24 or whatever it is, i would expect more than a few falafel balls and one side. Kinda a rip off. But everything tasted really, really good.

There…read moreare a few businesses that recently opened or are opening soon in White Plains, and since I always enjoy trying a new place out I figured now was as a good a time as ever to see what Anar had to offer. Anar is an Indian-Mediterranean restaurant close to the main Mamaroneck Ave strip and White Plains Hospital. The space used to be a straight-up Indian restaurant called India Cafe, but at the start of the pandemic last March they closed and never reopened (though they still operate a takeout spot a few doors down). Eventually after a refresh, Anar opened - though I suspect the owners are the same since the menu is similar to its predecessor. Anyway, I wasn't able to sit and eat but they offer takeout so I placed my order online and picked it up on my lunch break. The menu contains a number of Indian dishes as well as general Mediterranean fare. They have a dedicated lunch specials section, and the chicken shawarma roll on it looked good so I went with that. I also ordered the chili gobi, and one of my colleagues got the chicken pakora. The chicken shawarma was great, it was an ample size with a generous helping of chicken. The naan was great, and that white sauce really tied it all together. The chili gobi was tasty with just the right amount of spice - the cauliflower wasn't as crispy as I've had elsewhere, but the flavor was great. Service was good - my food was ready by the promised time, and was packaged neatly despite the risk of it getting messy with all the sauces and such. Overall, I had a great first experience at Anar. The food was tasty and they offer something not really seen elsewhere in White Plains - I'll be sure to return.

The service - well you feel like family. We did a tasting menu that the chef planned. 8 courses (plus bread service). Dessert was served in the kitchen. All courses had a beverage pairing. Menu: Beet / yogurt pairing with little hints of different flavors that surprise you in a good way Tomato soup (cold) - not like anything I have had before. The father of the chef grows the little tomatoes - maybe grape tomatoes. Not sure. The best tomato soup I have ever had - there were three small tomatoes floating in the soup. So tender (no skin). Wow! Raw yellow tail with two differed sauces that you combined it all together - super fresh fish, amazing sauces - I really can't find the words to do justice for this dish. Even my husband who doesn't eat any sushi had this. And loved it. Seas bass on fava bean sauce - likely the best seas bass I have had. I'm used to Black Sea bass off the boat in Montauk; hard to beat this and they did! Tiger prawn tempora - this was served with a cold beer. Omg. I will never have tempora without a beer again. (I generally don't drink beer.) The batter was exceptionally light, the flavor if the prawn shined. Sockeye salmon on rice - I am not explaining this properly. Wowowow Filet beef with a concentrated au ju - perfectly prepared ... so flavorful. So good. Dessert: tiramisu, two different decadent cookies small and wow. Chocolate truffle (maybe not the right word) but wow We started with champagne, had white wine, red wine, beer, and port. The wines were from Portugal and were sulfite free. And they were spectacular in their own right and perfect pairing with the food. We were here for a big bday cele - it was so special. I will never forget! And I look forward to going back. I wish there were more stars to give. Wish there were more adjectives. I am at a loss at how to explain how good this experience was. If you ever get a chance to go, run there! If you haven't been, call and get a reservation or plan an event. This place has great history with an amazing family. Their passion for food and people is off the charts.
