I had a very concerning experience with the delivery driver who initially came to set up my bed. He arrived smelling strongly of marijuana, to the point that it filled my entire home. His clothing was also unprofessional. I informed him that I am highly allergic to marijuana exposure (throat tightening, facial and eye burning), and he confirmed he had smoked before entering my home. Because of this, I asked him to leave for health and safety reasons. He did apologize. I want to be clear that the company itself handled my complaint extremely well. They were apologetic, took the situation seriously, credited my delivery, and promptly sent a second technician who was clean, professional, and respectful. This review reflects a poor hiring or screening decision--not the company's response, which was excellent. I appreciate how quickly they corrected the situation. I cannot express enough gratitude for the outstanding service we received from Medical House, Andrew, and Darrius. My partner and I frequently visit the northern Virginia Falls Church area about once or twice a month. During our recent stay, his motorized scooter stopped working, and we found ourselves in a tough situation. Being far from home, it was imperative for him to maintain mobility, especially since we needed to have the scooter serviced. Unfortunately, it was impossible to have it serviced after 6 PM because the necessary part wasn't readily available and had to be ordered. When I called Medical House, Darrius answered and went above and beyond to assist us. He remained on the phone after closing hours to explain everything clearly regarding the rental of a motorized wheelchair scooter. Thanks to his help, we were able to work it out and pick up the motorized wheelchair we rented for a month at a very reasonable price. I can't praise this company enough - I rented a hospital bed for my mother's post surgery recovery and it was delivered and installed 24 hours later by THE nicest man. We were going in a million directions that day and he calmly set it up and taught us how it worked. I called today to arrange pick up tomorrow and had a great conversation with the manager who answered my questions and helped with a billing issue. They were wonderful. My aunt who is disabled visited for several weeks over the holidays and we were in need of a wheelchair. They delivered the chair. It was clean with all of the parts necessary for functionality in the house as well as out in the community. I was referred to this company from rehab for a new wheelchair for my husband. I purchased a wheelchair and it is fine. I needed one for in my house as this one didn't work and was told I could get one through insurance and sent forms. I just got forms back and now they won't do through insurance. It was difficult to get them to get back to me and now they are sending me to Maryland and I have to start all over. I wish I had never purchased anything from them. Value, selection, outstanding service, and convenient hours! Knowledgeable staff, good inventory, full service for all needs. I needed a wheelchair for the first time for my mother. Dimitri was very helpful in getting me a transport chair. My mom attended her grandson's graduation, sitting comfortably in the seat the entire day. The weekly rental was inexpensive and I received a big discount when I decided to buy it for her. Wallace demonstrated a regular wheelchair which will be good for my mom. I'll be back to get her a standard wheelchair (using mom's insurance) but the transport chair is great to take her places in a pinch. read more

Horrible customer service from Kelly. She is the person in charge of insurance bill..almost impossible to talk to her and when you can after weeks she is rude. The people at front are nice and try to help but they give you the wrong information on prices and how much the insurance really covers. And because trying to get in touch with Kelly is almost impossible. It almost seems she is the queen. They gave us 3 different prices and amount the insurance will cover all on the same day and same call! Stay away from this company. There is other medical supply stores in the northern va. read more

Medical House has been one of the best businesses I have dealt with EVER. I have purchased numerous items from them for my elderly mother: power chair, hospital bed, recliner lift chair. In each instance, they have been fair, honest and reasonable. For example, my mother's new recliner/lift chair recently stopped working correctly. Even without an optional warranty, they acknowledged they had recently sold this chair, brought in a (brand new) replacement lift chair while getting the manufacturer to send replacement parts. Then, again without any charges, they returned the fixed chair today. The staff and management have shown true compassion, sensitivity and understanding towards the elderly and towards humankind. I need to add the Company Name so no one else has to go thru what I did Another "supplier" delivered an old non-fully automatic bed and lied that my insurance company didn't approve it (they did). I needed the bed to be able to rise and be lowered without a manual crank. I had knee surgery for gosh sake. The mattress was old and wouldn't stop sliding down oh and it took them 2 hours to assemble and didn't use cardboard. read more

This establishment came up in my google search and although it is 30+ miles from where we were, I drove to their place on a Saturday morning to get a kneeling scooter for my husband who had emergency surgery the day before our wedding. It was short notice but they still had one readily available for me. The directions they gave in order for me to get there were as concise as anyone could have given out. Every cross street, how far down the road, even nearby establishments were pointed out in detail. The people who run this establishment are very professional. When I got there, the store manager(?) was attending to a customer and he acknowledged my presence when I came in. His elderly father called and told him that he figured in an accident. Instead of coming to his father's aid he calmed him down over the phone and said he would call back after he finished with my transaction. I told him to go ahead and call his father back, that I could wait or come back later but he insisted otherwise. Professional, courteous, compassionate to their customers needs and pleasant to work with. Their equipment is also guaranteed and reasonably priced. I would recommend this establishment to anyone needing medical supplies. read more

I ordered a mobility scooter for my training week in Reston VA. They delivered a motorized wheelchair to my hotel which I cannot use. I informed them the same day and they told me they would deliver a mobility scooter to my hotel the next morning. I contacted the hotel throughout the next day. No scooter. After work, I called the business. No one knew about my issue. Eventually, they delivered a mobility scooter on yhe following day. They apologized. They also discounted my price which was very fair. He showed me how to break down the scooter and put it back together several times. He was very patient. And the prices! I expected to pay out the wazoo but not with medical house. I have a foot fracture and was sent to Medical House to get a boot. The gentleman on the phone checked sizes and I told him I was on my way. Upon arrival he asked a woman who appeared to be his wife or some sort of relative if she was "going to handle this." . She reluctantly took my information and then the two of them disappeared, never to be seen again. I waited for at least one half hour with a fractured metatarsal. I noticed two men who were there assembling wheelchairs and walkers. I asked one of them where the woman went and was she going to fit me for the boot. He said that she was checking my insurance. I waited a few minutes longer when the very kind installer finally tried to fit my fractured fit into the proper boot. I even purchased out of pocked another item called an even-up to assist my uninjured foot. But as for the man and especially the woman in management, I felt their disdain and disrespect for me. I wish I had just walked out and gone somewhere else. Shabby treatment, indeed. I am a former business owner and would never treat a customer like I was treated. read more

Customer service here is wonderful- Dimitri! I have been looking to get a motor scooter and Medicare gave me this store as one of their approved suppliers. If anyone has ever tried to learn the steps of accommodating your life with "disabilities", whilst going through them, you know the challenges. Well, needless to say, after many hours/ weeks of calling numerous suppliers that were in closer proximity to my house, with no call backs or impatient representatives, I was fortunate enough to call The Medical House and on first call...success!! I called and spoke with Dimitri on two separate occasions and he is phenomenal. He has been patient, compassionate, knowledgeable, professional and went out of his way to confirm information provided to me. He was upfront with the process of going through Medicare for getting the scooter and also offered my options to rent or buy a scooter in the meantime. Dimitri answered my *many* questions, went through my logistical planning- which included numerous steps- and was articulate, patient and friendly throughout. I also have been needing to find out about getting a lift for my vehicle for the scooter, and he has been helping me with this as well. This company sells lifts and does the installation. Wow, he has helped make what has been quite an obstacle, much easier for me to navigate through. Dimitri is understanding of the effort it takes to physically get to the store so offered to send me photos and emailed me information. I was able to review in advance and speak to him about it. Now, i have my trip planned to go onto the store and get my scooter! Easy button! Thank you Dimitri and Medical House! I will update after my visit into the store. I rented a wheelchair here for one week for a visiting relative. The folks at Medical House Supply Group were friendly and easy to deal with. The equipment was practically brand new and in very good condition. They let me pick out which one I wanted to take from a lineup of wheelchairs, but they all looked new. Check out and return were both quick and easy. I thought the prices were pretty reasonable. I paid $70 to rent a wheelchair for one week. read more

I was trying to get a wheelchair for my 96 year old Mother through Medicare. The one we had purchased for her gave her trouble and I wanted to get her another one. I found it very difficult to get through to anyone here - I had to keep calling. After my Mother's doctor faxed (twice) a medical order - we were told very unlikely Medicare would approve it. I had to make several calls just to get through to them. I will try another supply house and wouldn't recommend this one. read more

Before calling this location, was being over charge at the Rio medical supply store. Spoke with Dimitri at the medical house provides world class customer service. When I first called his staff were booked for the day, and couldn't provide same day service. Wasn't even 5 minutes later when he called me back to tell me they were able to deliver,. My mom was just discharge from the hospital, and they were able to beat 85% of the cost at the RIo medical supply store. The driver they sent even beat us to our house. My 92 year old grandfather before he died wanted to see Washington DC, we weren't thinking of him being 92 he walks fine but there's a lot more walking in DC. The medical house was able to provide him with a great wheelchair and the staff was so incredibly nice, you can tell it's ran by a family. The young man at the counter went out of his way knowing we were from out of town and worked after hours to help us. He treated my grandfather with the upmost respect. My grandfather had a magnificent time, he would not have been able to enjoy an eighth of every place we saw without the medical house, they saved our vacation and let my grandfather check a big item off his bucket list!!! read more

Cancellations are not refunded, instead you receive a full credit on a future rental, That being said, the service provided (forgive me, it's spelled phonetically) by Sahbee was exceptional. Very disappointed. We ordered a replacement mattress for a hospital bed. It came about 5 days after we ordered it by a 3rd party delivery service. No unwrap or assistance. Their website clearly states we have 30 days to return. We never took it out of the wrapper and we called on the 30th day. (it doesn't fit and we have been told we need a different mattress by medical caregivers.) i was told there was no return on this type of item, and even if they did it would be within 7 days. This is nowhere on the website. We are out around $200 dollars and we have a new extra hospital mattress around the house we will now need to sell on eBay or some other service. This is ridiculous! Not only were they the only company that could deliver a chair soon after a hospital discharge, when it was really needed, but they were utterly kind, helpful and generous as we extended the rental. Cannot say enough good things about this company, especially given the business they are in. I recently rented a wheelchair from medical house. Their service was excellent. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful, and the quality of the chair I received was excellent. While I did not shop around, I thought their pricing was reasonable, and I greatly appreciated the convenience, given my location in Arlington. They appear to have a large inventory of equipment on hand, so availability was never an issue. They will be the first place I will look for similar needs in the future. read more
