Mediterranean Grill is a-okay in my opinion! I was craving kabobs and what not and popped in here on New Year's Day. This Mediterranean Grill location is right off the Beltline by the Ardens Garden and across the street from Piedmont Park. The space is not large and they have an open kitchen. You order at the counter and take a seat of your choosing. On this particular day, the restaurant was pretty busy. I would say 75% full. Food here is decently priced. Under $10 for a sandwich or wrap, and about $12 for an enormous platter of food which comes with your choice of meat, rice, pita, salad, and your choice of sauce. I opted for the combination platter so I could try the kofta, beef and gyro meat with tahini and hot sauce. Personally, I was not a fan of the gyro meat at all. I am probably spoiled by Aviva downtown where the gyro meat is actually stacks of lamb that is then sliced off the spit. This gyro meat is your typical hunk of "mystery" meat. I used to like this kind of gyro until I had Aviva. I thought the flavors of the kofta were good, even if the meat was a little dry. Never fear! I drenched it in tahini sauce. The beef was also flavorful, but slightly overcooked to medium well. The rice was disappointing and bland. I ended up covering it in tahini and hot sauce as well. Food quality like others have said is probably not the highest, but I cannot complain about a platter for 2 that's under $15. Mediterranean Grill is great bang for your buck. read more

I was not very happy with my visit here. Got a gyro sandwich which was very average, really lacked flavor. My son got the vegetarian plate which came with 2 pieces of felafel for like $11. More than that - the place was pretty filthy and despite no customers no staff seemed interested in clearing and wiping down tables. Just weird. Won't be back. read more

I literally started salivating as I typed in Mediterranean Grill to write my review about it. What is it about this little, unassuming gem that makes me feel such warm and sincere feelings of love? Perhaps it is the simple, straightforward, slightly greasy gyro wrapped in quality warm pita & filled with juicy tomatoes, crisp lettuce, and creamy feta that I crave on the regular. Perhaps it is the quintessential greek salad that accompanies my tip top favorite ATL gyro. Perhaps it is the crispy potatoes that occasionally make it onto my plate dipped in solid tzatziki sauce. What ever it is, I'm a big fan. Do not go to Mediterranean Grill expecting a pretty atmosphere, someone waiting on you, or anything externally special. Go for a relaxed, familiar, and quick meal that will leave you wanting more. There is parking available in the lot beside it or you can walk over after a day at the park. Sometimes this lot gets full or chaotic during peak times but have faith that the parking fairy will smile upon you and you won't have to walk too far to fulfill your gyro desires. read more

This Restaurant was extremely nasty.. The ice dispenser had not been cleaned, I can't even say when was the last time, it was filthy. Dirty dishes were piled up in a corner. Went to the bathroom just to wash my hands and to my surprise the bathroom was cleaner than the kitchen and entire restaurant itself. You can see the kitchen on the way to the bathroom and the kitchen was filthy. This place needs a serious Health inspection I am sure they are violating all kinds of food and sanitation codes. My husband and I went to the Mediterranean Grill yesterday. I had the Combination Platter, he had the Shishkabob plate. The tab for 2 was $22. Food was good, but not to die for. The meat on the Combination plate included one lamb kabob, which was excellent, a grilled piece of meat which I'm guessing was beef which was tasty and some gyro meat which was yucky. It was too salty, overprocessed, gelatinous ...yuck. It was served with salad of iceberg lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers, pretty basic but the tatziki sauce that accompanied it was very good. all this was served over luke warm rice which was mediocre. Ordered the chicken kabobs from Uber eats with an extra sauce (which I paid for) and extra rice. I paid $24 for this meal. It included three pieces of chicken. That is the same as the kids meal portion. On top of that, the chicken was dry, charred, and flavorless. I did not receive the extra sauce that I paid for. When I contacted Uber and complained, they refunded me 87 cents. For a 20 plus dollar meal this is ridiculous. I have a mixed review about this place. The food was good and I was there with a huge group for Sunday lunch (about 15 of us) and there was not problem pulling tables together so we could converse. But I don't like the way you have to pick up your food from the counter and they don't have it on a tray. Some of us were not given a receipt so we didn't know what our order numbers were. Orders were put on the counter and were not being picked up and it got confusing trying to figure out who's was who's. I suggest they develop a better system. Love this place! The menu is simple, not pretentious and straight-forward. Prices are reasonable and the hummus is incredibly smooth and the most delicious I've had in a very long time. This is my favorite place for Mediterranean food. I live in Midtown and although I could walk to this restaurant on a nice day, it is my "go-to" if I am eating at a reasonable hour. As far as delivery is concerned, they are excellent! I always get kubideh as it is Always tender and delicious, even during rush hour, when sometimes you can get an overcooked piece of lamb or undercooked beef due to the chefs having to rush, this dish is always perfectly browned and is not harmed by being well done. Gyros are always a safe bet as well, as the meat is cooked on a spit and is simply shaved off to order! Ask for extra tzatziki on side just in case anything turns out dry, you can soak it in yogurt sauce and let it soak in To moisten dried out meat.The shish kebabs are always fantastic the day after. Keep them inside of tinfoil completely closed up which will steam them in their own juices and keep the meat nice and tender and avoid it drying out during the warming process. Their baklava is to die for! I always get a piece of each type. I tend To prefer the pistachios due to the chopped up bits being much finer than walnuts, but the taste is amazing no matter which you choose! read more

I agree with most of the other people; while M Grill is not stellar compared to all med restaurants, they are cheap and the food is consistently good. I like that the falafels are crispy in the falafel sandwich. I don't like the pita they use and wish they would get some better bread. I love the Greek salads, and the potatoes are awesome, perfectly crunchy outside, while melty hot inside. Bonus: sandwich and potatoes or sandwich and salad costs about $5.50. I had a ridiculous craving for a gyro!! Ridiculous!! We stopped by Mediterranean Grill for a quick bite to go. I was pretty impressed with the speed in which they pumped out some goodness. My lemon potatoes were pretty crispy, but needed more lemon. My gyro was just ok. Didn't really settle my cravings. The meat... not juicy enough... the pita just tasted dry... Tzatziki! The sauce that saved it all! The meal was just good....not great... but I really want to go back. I don't know why but I'm craving more. Oh! The hummus was pretty good. I liked the heat. The BF and I have been here a handful of times and we typically get the gyro sandwich with the added option of potatoes or Greek salad for a side. A few more dimes and you get a drink with it. To me, it is worth the extra dimes to get a side because they are so generous with the portions. The potatoes are amazing. They are fried to a crisp and pair extremely well with the tzatziki sauce. The gyro sandwich is huge, longer than a Chipotle burrito, though it is smaller in diameter (heh, heh) if that gives you any idea. The gyro sandwich has gyro meat (during the last visit, I found my portion of meat a bit meager and the meat itself too salty), tomatoes, lettuce and tzatziki sauce. The pita seemed a bit too tough and stale. The Greek salad is solid -- it comes with tomatoes, olives and feta cheese with some sort of raspberry vinaigrette, I think. If anything, they drenched the salad in too much vinaigrette. It would be nice to have the dressing on the side. During the last visit, we also got a couple pieces of pistachio baklava. This was our first time trying it. It was sweet and flaky, and very nutty. My BF seemed to really enjoy it as he is a huge fan of pistachios. I would get some gyros to go and enjoy them at nearby Piedmont Park on a nice day. read more

I fell in love with Mediterranean Grill when I was a student at Tech, and I'm pleased to say they are still super fantastic. I dropped in at MG after walking the Beltline one Sunday with a friend, so suffice it to say that I was more or less ravenous. Usually I order the vegetarian sandwich, but on this occasion I went all out with the vegetarian platter. No, I'm not vegetarian, but their veggie options are just that good! I got a platter filled with homemade hummus, baba ganouj, tabouli salad, falafel, pita, and tahini. No, their falafel isn't a good as Pita Palace, but it's still a worthy contender! And the quality and quantity of food for the price is truly staggering. My friend ordered the gyro platter and couldn't even finish all the meat. Everything they serve is fresh and flavorful. I would maybe have enjoyed a couple of extra pieces of pita (since everything on the vegetarian platter is basically a dip), but I just stole my friend's extras and all was well. read more

There are plenty of Mediterranean places around town, and this is one of the worst. I've been here twice, and did not have a good experience on either occasion. Today I got the Kufta Plate (spiced lamb with rice and salad), which was very disappointing. The rice was yellow and bland, and the meat was dry and overcooked. The "salad" was just some romaine lettuce and tomato slices, and the tahini they serve on the side is thin and tasteless. Not to mention the pita, which was dry and not fresh at all. Mediterranean Grill is alright. I still hold a grudge against the plaza its located in as my car was towed from there a few years ago. However, I know that MG has nothing to do with it, so lets focus on the location. The place was pretty busy when we went one evening. Granted it was only 20 mins from closing, we were able to place an order and get it by the time all the closing commotion came through. The food itself was decent, nothing extraordinary. Heck it was a little more expensive than I would have wanted for a non waiter Mediterranean food. Also nearly every plate has a hummus side, so don't go off getting a hummus plate unless you need more chickpeas in your diet. The food plates came in a random order, so someone who ordered before me would get food after the person who ordered after me. Given that there were lots of couples on a late night date here, it made it a whole bit harder to coordinate plates. Around closing time things got a little hectic as there was lots of noise being generated by the staff. they were pulling out chairs from the balcony, counting the change in the register a penny at a time, and sweeping. This did not add any value to my enjoying of my dinner so I left a little dissapointed. read more

Self-serve Only reason I knocked down a star for this place is because of my horrible experience with delivery. They only have one driver and if you place your order after he has left for his rounds, then you'll be stuck waiting an hour plus for your food. I called to check on the food and the owner was not very helpful. He told me to mention my name next time I ordered and he would do something "special" for me. Sounds more like he was going to spit in my food before sending it out. Could have just discounted the meal a bit, seeing as I had been waiting so long. Well I tried to venture off today and try something new! I usually would get something like a chicken gyro from any Mediterranean restaurant but I figured that would be lame! Must try new things to have new experiences! I got the chicken kabob with yellow rice and salad. It was cool. The rice was kind of bland to me but the chicken was decent. The salad was fine as well. I had to keep an open mind because different cultures prepare meals differently and use different seasonings. All in all it was a 3 star but I have it extra star because the service was excellent! I had always wanted to try out Mediterranean Grill so this was a great opportunity. Since they aren't familiar with area, I offered to drive. Though we could have walked the BeltLine. After dinner, they realized how close it was to my home. You order at the counter and then sit and wait for your food to be prepared. The meat entrees come with rice, salad, pita bread, and choice of sauce (tzatziki, tahini, or hot). My dad ordered the lamb shank. My mom ordered the gryo platter. I order the chicken sandwich. Sandwiches are served with lettuce, tomato, and choice of sauce. My dad didn't like his shank. My mom thought her gyro was pretty good though my dad and I didn't like the meat. I ended up here one Sunday for lunch when I was on the way to pick up my car after spending the day at Draft on Taft and my was I surprised! i was sort of expecting a whole in the wall, but it was actually pretty spacious and very clean inside. I ordered a gyro with Greek salad on the side and it was really flavorful and surprisingly not messy at all! We had the hummus as an app and it was incredibly smooth and creamy, I couldn't stop dipping my pita bread in it. I ordered food from Mediterranean Grill on Zifty and became a fan, so when I saw a Groupon I snatched it up. Eating at the restaurant was what I expected, even better than its takeout version. My favorite items are the kabob entrees and the gyro platter - tasty grilled meat, a generous portion of rice, dressed salad and pita bread. Sandwiches are huge with meat, lettuce and tomato in a pita wrap. Greek potatoes are also tasty and very popular. They do a good job of capturing the flavors of the region with foods anchored in different countries (Greece, Egypt, Israel, Lebanon). The first night I was there at least half the customers were of Mediterranean or Middle Eastern descent. When an ethnic restaurant draws an ethnic crowd it's usually a sign of authentic, good food. I have passed by the Mediterranean Grill many times and finally decided to try it today. Yelpers beware that the Midtown FIT or Piedmont Park is very popular in the early evening, as I got the last parking spot. For the style and quality of cuisine that Mediterranean Grill is cooking, their prices were lower than I anticipated. I love their combos for $6.49 ($7.01 with tax). Today, I tried the Kufta Kabob sandwich. It was essentially a Gyro with some sort of peppered sausage. It was surprisingly good when you add the sauce that comes with it. The combos also include a drink and a side. The drink is the usual unlimited refill 20 oz cup of a small selection of coke products and unsweetened/sweetened iced tea. For the side, you can have the potatoes or the Greek Salad. I tried the potatoes, which are just some mini potato wedges. The potatoes wedges go down well with a few packets of the Hunts ketchup, the one condiment they had available. Overall, a great experience; I will be back to try some more of their combos. read more

Went there today and got the CHICKEN KABOB WRAP & DOLMAS (grape leaves) both were very good. The dolmas was a bit to much on the lemon side and I expected it stuffed with meat.. but overall it was good. I paid about $14 for everything. When I left I brought BAKLAVA (walnut) always a fave... cant go wrong with this pastry! I will return but doubt I'll buy Dolmas again. read more
