Me and my husband had the Gyros and I, the Portobello pita sandwich with sides of lentils soup!!! I cnt say enough praise! Wholesome ingredients, generous portions , tasty and flavorful!!! I was in town to buy a desk....that's how it all started. It was my girlfriend and I, tagging along to help was my best friend. Both my girlfriend and best friend are pretty adventurous eaters. Being a picky eater, I wasn't too enthused to hear where he had picked. Until he started reading the menu, I heard Conecuh sausage and I was in! As we entered the place had two or three diners, but that wasn't alarming because the weather was bad. We pull up to the counter and start talking to the two younger guys behind the counter about what's good, etc. and they are telling us about what their favorites are and opinions about each item we were interested in. With their help we all landed on gyros with sides. I am a picky eater and they were happy to accommodate my omissions and additions. While our food was being made I engaged both the young fellows in conversation and they were super personable and made you feel like you were at home talking to an old friend. When the food was brought to our table the gyros and sides all looked very appetizing. For a side my friend got the bacon and cheese orzo and he stated that he wasn't really expecting much but was surprised with the flavor of the side. My girlfriend got the salad and said it was good. I got the baklava and it was right on par. Everyone was really surprised how good the gyros were. We expected them to be decent, but these gyros were delicious! The meat was cooked and seasoned very well and the house spicy barbecue sauce really put the gyros over the top. The food was delicious but it took 16 minutes to get 2 gyros on a to go order. I watched the 3 orders after mine head out the door about 12 minutes in. It may seem minor but not when you need to get somewhere, like to pick up your kid. I've been to every MedSan in Mobile, and they are all consistently good. Honestly, I've tried just about every item on the menu and haven't had a dud yet. The sandwiches themselves, the orzo, the baklava, etc. all good. This one has the advantage of being the newest and is very conveniently located. And once again...this place is a hit. How do they do it..the food is great but I am always more impressed with the staff which are young, professional and upbeat. They like what they are selling and they show it. The wasabi chicken wrap is my favorite and despite all my efforts to try other things.....this one always seemed to lure me back.
