    Grilled 6oz chicken breast
    Tiffanie C.

I ordered the mijadarah with a side of grilled chicken breast. But the mijadarah dish was sooo wonderful. This a hug from grandma and a sense of coming home where your safe, and welcome, and loved. I can't even begin to describe how yummy the grilled onions were on top of this dish. The grilled chicken breast was also delicious, tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The salad that comes on the dish was also fresh and tasty. I didn't take a picture of my glass of wine, but it's a generous pour. I will DEFINITELY eat here again. I also ordered the lamb kabobs to go and chose tabouli as my side over yellow rice. I'll have to update you later in regards to the deliciousness, because I'm super confident I'm going to love it.

Tea Room Gyro with Greek Salad

Unassuming spot on Devine that is churning out delicious food. I had the Tea Room Gyro which was decent. However, my wife got the spinach feta pita pockets...my god, they were worth it. When I come back, I'll definitely get the pita pockets

What a great little find on Devine for date night. My husband wanted some Greek for dinner and we had never tried the Tea Room. What a gem of a place. It stayed busy the entire time we were there and after trying the food, we know why. I had the Kofta medallions platter and my husband had the Grilled Chicken platter. Everything was so fresh and both meats tasted as if they came fresh off the grill. We will definitely be back to try other items.

Great food. Local place. Authentic. A little overpriced in my opinion, but doesn't stop me from buying it! Hard to find parking.

My absolute favorite Mediterranean/Greek place I've ever found in the US . I've been a fan of the tea room since my college days at USC and now anytime I am in Columbia , it's a must stop . I even request an order if a friend or family member is driving through Columbia. I love their food that much . I can barely remember what I did five minutes ago but I still remember my first visit to the tea room more than a decade ago. This quaint & modest eatery serves up popular Mediterranean fare like gyros, falafel, hummus & kebabs. These are all good but my favorite entree is the kofta medallions. It's a must try! The kofta is beef and lamb (ground and seasoned on site) served over yellow rice with a Greek salad. It is amazing!! The salad dressing is awesome and I also pour a little over the medallions....delicious! No matter what you order, you will not leave disappointed. One thing to note , they keep limited business hours so make sure you keep this in mind if you are planning a visit . Lunch is 11:30-2:30 and they have separate evening hours . Make sure you confirm they are open before you go. They have a small parking lot but you can also park on the street. I am already daydreaming about my next visit to the tea room !

It was horrible. The potatoes were three chunks on the plate as a full serving. Ordered the salads extra and they were very small. There were two specials listed on the board and neither one had a price posted. The price was $24. This was lunch. Out of four people, only one enjoyed their food. Keep going. Looks like there's a genuine, good, busy well rated Greek restaurant down the street

We tried to enter, but the door was locked. After a few mins. we tried again. Still locked. There is a table with chairs outside, so we sat and proceeded to wait. A few minutes later, the waiter (there was only 1), told us he hadn't bothered to open the door as the chef had not arrived yet. We said it wasn't a problem as we were not in a hurry and we could spend the time having something to drink (iced tea) and perusing the menu. After the chef finally arrived and we could order, we ordered the Dolmadaki to share and two entrees that came with salads. We told the waiter that we would order dessert after dinner. The waiter eventually brought out the salads. Nothing special, but very overdressed. He then brought out the entrees. (In between his service, he spent a lot of time looking at himself and fixing his hair in a mirror on the wall in this small dining room.) My chicken souvlaki was very dry, served in large lumps that were difficult to cut. Potatoes were ok. My husbands beef kabob was flavorless, and his red lentils also lacked flavor. At this point we were still the only patrons and Andrew was the only waiter. He then came over, and asked if we were ready for the check. We informed him that we each wanted to order baklava and that he needed to make sure that our check did not include the Dolmadaki which we never received. He acted surprised that we hadn't received the appetizer, in spite of the fact that we were the only patrons and he was the only waiter. He went back to the kitchen and when he returned he told us that they only had 1 baklava as the chef didn't bake any that day. We requested our check instead. He proceeded to say that the Dolmadaki would be out shortly, at which point we informed him that we did not want them as they were to be our appetizer, not something we wanted to eat after dinner. When he finally brought the check, I needed to ask him to remove the used dinner plates so that I could deal with the check. While I was very tempted not to leave any, left a very meager 12% tip that day. Due to all of the above (and the fact that the only bathroom had an overflowing trash bin, no hand sanitizer in the dispenser, and could have used a good general cleaning) we cannot in good conscience recommend this restaurant. It was also interesting to note that when we left there were still no other patrons, but the restaurant next door was booming. Next time we'll try there.

I am extremely disappointed with the service and hospitality our group received at this restaurant…read more This past weekend, we reserved a private dinner for approximately 31 adults to celebrate a 50th birthday. Upon arrival, the restaurant itself appeared beautiful, and our group was seated in a private dining room with water already placed on the tables. Unfortunately, the level of service that followed did not match the atmosphere or the upscale prices we paid. Our entire party appeared to have only one server, whom I later learned was named Sarah. She did not introduce herself, welcome the group, explain how dinner service would work, or tell us what was being served. We were divided among four tables, which already made communicating our needs more difficult. A fifth table was designated as the "food table," where we were expected to serve ourselves both appetizers and entrées. I have attended many group dinners and celebrations, and I have never experienced this type of setup at a restaurant presenting itself as an upscale establishment. The process felt disorganized and lacked the level of hospitality we expected. If guests are paying upscale prices, the service should reflect an upscale dining experience. One of the most concerning moments occurred when it was time to serve the birthday cake. As our dinner plates were being cleared, we expected to receive clean forks for dessert. Instead, Sarah told us that the restaurant was "short on forks" because she believed people were stealing them, and we were told to keep our dinner forks to use for cake. This explanation was both surprising and inappropriate. I later encountered the chef and asked him directly about the restaurant being short on forks. He appeared genuinely confused, told me there was no shortage that he was aware of, and immediately asked whether we needed clean forks. After I explained what we had been told, he brought our group clean forks. That interaction was especially troubling because it left me questioning why our server gave us an explanation that the chef himself did not recognize as true. As a group of predominantly Black guests, the inconsistency in what we were told and the overall way our party was treated unfortunately left some of us wondering whether we were being treated differently because of our race. I do not make that statement lightly, but the experience made the concern difficult to ignore. As for the food itself, it was okay overall, although several items were a bit too salty for our taste. There were also significant issues with the amount of food provided. We initially ordered based on the quantity recommended for our group size when making the reservation, yet we ran out of food during dinner. We then had to wait nearly an hour for additional food to be prepared. After that lengthy wait, we were ultimately unable to take the remaining food with us, despite the amount of money our group had paid. For what we spent on this celebration, the quality of service simply did not justify the cost. This was an important 50th birthday gathering, and several members of our party were veterans. It was disappointing to see our guests receive this level of service during what should have been a special and memorable evening. A beautiful restaurant and upscale pricing are only part of the dining experience. Hospitality, organization, communication, professionalism, and the way guests are made to feel matter just as much. I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously and provides additional hospitality and professionalism training to its staff, particularly regarding large private parties. This restaurant has the potential to provide a wonderful experience, but our group unfortunately did not receive one.
