It's been so long since I've eaten at the Med and had no idea that they even switched owners years back. It was such a pleasant experience, the food and service was AMAZING, and the chef even customized our entree just the way we wanted. I haven't hung out in Alpine all that much, but I would venture a guess that the "Med" (as the locals call it) is one of the finer dining choices in town. I ate the Med Wrap (grilled chicken, kalamata olives, sun dried tomatoes in a tortilla) with garlic-romano fries. Both were tasty. My buddy ordered the burger; it was cooked properly and he loved it. These were the most reasonably priced items on the menu. Service was friendly and attentive but not overly so. Not having tried the other more expensive items, I cannot attest to their overall value, but based on the quality of what we had, I would visit again! read more

Hats off to Angel, who suffered through our large party making plans, unmaking them, and then remaking them at the last minute! With just 15 minutes notice she had a table set for us when we finally arrived. The meal blew us away! Awesome flavors and generous portions satisfied all diners. The first time I went here I was a little surprised - because of the name, I expected more of a Mediterranean fare. You know, gyros, greek salad, hummus, etc. What they have is pastas, salads, beef, chicken, fish, wood-fired pizzas... a nice selection of American foods for reasonable prices. There is a nice little outdoor seating area, which I would recommend over the inside seating just because it feels a little crowded inside. I had the grilled chicken added to my spinach salad. It was very good! I tried the soup of the day: Butternut Sage. Excellent flavor, simple and very smooth. My hubby had a Smoked Ham omelette with red potatoes. He liked the flavor but his potatoes were cold. The menu states brunch comes with a glass of sparkling wine, which was yummy; a muffin and fruit. The waitress only gave us a choice of fruit or bread. We had to ask for the wine. Price fits area and good size portions. Service was good however she must be new...she didn't seem to know the menu or the soup of the day. And we tried to clarify the fruit muffin thing and she got a wee bit argumentative. I've been a waitress, so I notice things that are off. The bread basket was bread not a muffin, bread was good but cold. Came with yummy garlic, herb butter. I would recommend this place. read more

My wife came in and were seated right away. The rush had not yet started but it was a little busy. I would like to start with our waitress Elise. She is a bright vibrant young lady who is on top of her game. She never let a glass go empty and checked on us every 10 minutes or so. She made our experience that much better. We started with house verde salad and Caprese salad. The house salad was good but I felt the Caprese needed some Balsamic vinegar. Otherwise it was great. My wife got the Pollo Parmigiana. She said she enjoyed it a lot and couldn't finish due to the portion size. I had the Capellini Alla Checca. It was very nice. Plenty of tomato's and a nice sized portion as well. We left stuffed and happy. We also ordered cocktails. Wife ordered "The Dirty". It's the houses dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. She said it was nice. I ordered the Galliano Old Fashioned. It was a little sweet but it didn't overpower the Makers Mark. We were very pleased with our entire experience and will return for round two. read more

I LOVE Mediterraneo! We eat here at least once a week, usually just dining in the bar and having appetizers since we prefer to 'graze' over lots of options. Service is always prompt and friendly, prices are reasonable, and the food is great. Never pass on the soup(s) of the day, their chef creates some amazing choices, and their Tuacca Lemondrop Martini is the best! Oh, and their Shortribs rock it too. read more

We have come here often as it is just about the only decent restaurant for middle to upscale food within 15 miles of Alpine. So many restaurants in Alpine have closed(Alpine Inn, Marrieta's, the Greek spot, even the ice cream and yogurt shops!). The two big salads we ordered (Caesar and grilled salmon) were fresh, made with quality ingredients, and served promptly. We had a bottle of wine as well, and the presentation of the wine was done well, considering our server had less than zero knowledge of wines! Don't worry about the cats if you sit outside...they are fixtures and are very feral. Now the bad news...the owner is listing this and another restaurant in the same center (Paparazzi) for sale, and we all know what happens when sites change hands...they are NEVER the same. So enjoy Mediterraneo while you can. read more

FIrst time in with the new ownership. There have been many decor and menu changes while the atmosphere remains the same. New flat screen tv's have been added to the bar area, updated menu has new Italian offerings. Arrived at 10:50AM and was told the chef had not arrived and the restaurant would be open at 11AM. There is no brunch menu so lunch or dinner service only. The house bread was stale as if left over from the day or two before. I ordered the pear d'anjou pizza, hand tossed dough, seasonal d'anjou pears, caramelized onions, and balsamic reduction sauce. Pizza was fantastic, many flavors and textures merging together. Tried to order the iron fist ale but they were out and was given some excuse like I was the restaurant purchaser. Had to settle on the ballast point sculpin instead, mildly disappointing. My co-party ordered the famous blue cheese hamburger medium. The burger arrived medium well, hamburger bun tasted old and in the very early stages of developing mold, great way to ruin a $11.95 entree. Overall the new changes are an improvement, now its time to do something about the quality of the food. read more

I always love coming here! We live in Temecula now but still come back because they have amazing service, and the best gluten free food! I'm a celiac and I have never been sick here. This is the one place I don't need to feel scared to eat at! This is by far my favorite place for brunch or dinner! It was our anniversary today and they made it so special for us. Went to mediterraneo recently for father's day (6/18/17) and had a great experience. My first time back to the restaurant in a few years and it hasn't changed at all. I used to be a regular at this place but didn't really know what to expect since it had been so long. We had a reservation and they sat us immediately. Restaurant was clean. The server was knowledgeable of the menu, food tasted great, huge selection of beer from local breweries. They took great care of us the entire evening. Has gotten better as the years go by. My first impression (years ago) was overpriced and limited options if you don't eat seafood. Now the menu is much more flexible, prices are reasonable and food is good. Bar is fun (gets crowded), and a great local hangout. Restaurant is small, so beware large groups. My husband and I had dinner here on a Tuesday evening. The wait staff was friendly and accommodating. The food was wonderful. I had the Chicken Marsala with mashed potatoes and it was the best I've had. The chicken special my husband had was very good, the bread trio offered was fresh and was served with an herb butter. Showed up on Saturday, 7/11/2015 at 10:40a for breakfast. We were greeted by a tall male server with, "We're not open yet". Hours posted directly from Mediterraneo website for 7/11/2015 - Hours MON-THUR - 11:30am to 9:30pm FRIDAY - 11:30am to 10:30pm SATURDAY - 8:30am to 10:30pm SUNDAY - 8:30am to 9:30pm. We arrived 2 hours AFTER THEIR website scheduled Saturday opening time. Here's a customer service suggestion for the gentleman server, "Hello, sorry but we're not quite ready to open, can you either come back or grab a seat, have a drink of water and we will be with you in less than 20m". As it turned out the male server did us a favor because we left and went to Viejas which has 3 restaurants only 5m away. Our meal at Viejas was excellent and the price was 1/2 of what we would have spent at Mediterraneo. A little courtesy and professionalism in a SERVICE industry brings back repeat business as well as referrals. In all fairness to Mediterraneo, the female staff are much more professional time over time than this particular male server. read more

We love coming here for an intimate dining experience and amazing food! Their menu always has a nice variety of delicious Italian options for everyone. I enjoy seeing their daily specials as well as their trusted "regulars" on the menu. My parents live out of state and MUST come to the Med every time they are in town to visit. My wife & I stop by every time we drop by Alpine to hand the grandkids off after weekend babysitting. We usually sit in the bar. Michael is behind the bar, usually. Very personable & attentive. He's a solid mixologist. There's a good selection of beers on tap. The wine list is good. Whoever put it together knows what they're doing. The atmosphere is casual & local. The food is the best family style Italian you're going to find. Rigatoni Emiliani is my favorite. The Ragu meat/wild mushroom is outstanding. Once I start, I can't stop until it's gone. read more

Went there on Easter with four friends. Services was a definite 5 but it was a 3 for some of the food. Two of the people ordered eggs benedict. They were all cold and the ham they used were slice boiled ham. So a 2-3 for the eggs Benedict. I had the bacon avocado omelet, it was a strong 5, probably the best one I've ever had. We ordered dessert and all were good but the dessert flight, which was to most expensive, was so small you barely has a teaspoon size portion of each. Hardly enough to even taste. They definitely need to increase the size of the portion of the flight. For $13 it was a ripoff. read more
