Moved to the westminster are back in September. I've loved every restaurant I've eaten at so far, Expect for this one. I honestly don't know where to start. But, I'll try and start with the "starters" (sigh). My wife and I got the calamari and "fried Green tomatoes", the calamari was frozen rubbery and flavorless crap. The fried green tomatoes (SIGH), these had to have been the worst food I've ever hade. If I was in prison, this would be the food I'd expect to get if I got locked into solitary confinement. Okay, now for the entrees, or whatever they were. I got the gnocchi (frozen) it was drenched in some flavorless tomato sauce and more cheese then the state of Chicago Illinois, tasting like nothing. Good thing I have seasoning at my house. My wife got the shrimp scampi, I asked her if she ordered soup. It had more oil running through it then the Keystone XL pipeline. This place should take the saying "it's not delivery, it's digiorno" because everything here it's frozen and not good. read more

Went to Mediterraneo for the first time the other day. I've had their pizza before at family or friend get togethers and it's decent. I got chicken parm in the restaurant. The chicken and cheese was good, but it was covered in one of those cheap disgusting orange sauces. For a real Italian it was rather nasty. I went for the first time yesterday. Food and service were good. (We got an apology any time something was taking a little longer). Our waitress (I think she said her name was Heavenly) was very sweet, and on top of things. We were told the fettuccine noodles are freshly made by the chef. My only complaint is that it's pretty pricey for what you get. The pasta dishes don't come with any sides - you have to pay extra for salad or another vegetable. I would go back, though. read more

Would give 0 stars if possible. Came here for a birthday celebration with 6 people. Every person besides one ordered pasta. Every pasta dish was absolutely repulsive as well as overpriced. Within 30 minutes of consuming the mediterraneo fettuccine I was feeling the affects of FOOD POISONING. I had clams in my meal that tasted sour, the scallops and crab meat were also cold and soggy. My mother got the same dish as me and refused to eat it because it tasted so horrible. Another member got a veal pasta dish and didn't eat theirs either because it tasted so sour and vinegar-ry. Another ordered the shrimp Alfredo and again, did not eat it because of how disgusting the taste was as well as the shrimp. We also tried the $15 cream of crab soup which again, was NOT eaten because of how horrifying it tasted. Even the Greek salad tasted old and the balsamic dressing was repulsive. Nothing we received was acceptable to serve to customers let alone worth the prices we paid. I paid $27 for food poisoning and the birthday was ruined. When the servers heard me throwing up in the bathroom all of them ran to the kitchen to hide and refused to come out until we left. Not offering money off our check or anything to fix their mess. This place should be shut down and absolutely not allowed to serve its customers the food that it does. I'm absolutely horrified that this place is still open and they are still serving food poisoning to their customers. Save your money and health and do not support this sickening business. Health inspector will be involved ASAP. read more

Came here for a work lunch. They have lunch portions which were filling. I got the shrimp Alfredo, and the shrimp were huge. The others ordered lasagna, eggplant parm sandwich, and chicken Marsala. The homemade bread rolls were awesome. You could taste they were fresh. Everyone left full and happy. Would definitely come back. read more

The food was hot and tasted good, but there was a delay in getting the food. It took longer than it really should have. People in tables around in, who arrived after us received their door prior to us. We did not have anything complicated either. The waitress was attentive, and brought drinks quickly, and kept them refilled without asking. This is a first time for us coming here, may give it another shot. So I really wanted to like this place. I've heard many good things about the pizza and thought ok, let's do it! I should have stuck to just the pizza. I hate to complain and I rarely write reviews. That being said... We sat outside and it was a cute little set up, quiet. Our waiter was nice and we ordered a crab dip, Greek salad, cheese pizza. I decided on the shrimp fra diavlo which I have had many times in other restaurants and honestly was reluctant to order but the waiter suggested it so I thought ok! Let me say I have worked in the restaurant business for 25 years. I've waited tables, bartended,managed, even worked in the kitchen. I have pretty low expectations for Westminster restaurants just because I know it's just small town and not a lot of great options. But the crab dip was a weird consistency, the cheese was separating and there was a lot of oil but we ate it anyway. Until I bit into something I initially thought was a shell (btw, very little crab meat) but was actually a piece of plastic. I understand stuff like this happens and i didn't make a big deal about it. The waiter immediately had it taken off the check. The salad was fine and the pizza was very good but my shrimp dish was a tomato sauce, so I assumed it would be a lighter, healthier option. However it was swimming In oil. That too was separating which is always a red flag to me. If I wanted fattening and oily I would have gotten the scampi. The waiter dropped the food and didn't come back till the end. I ate 3 shrimp and a bite of pasta but I just didn't like anything about the dish. When he did come back at the end of the meal He said "sorry, that's how our marinara is here" He explained that the tomato sauce was different but the marinara is made with oil. Then gave us the check. That's when I got upset, there was no offer for dessert and he didn't even ask if he should take the pasta off the bill. My husband asked him to remove it and he did but wouldn't have had we not asked. I know it's Westminster and it's a pizza place but as a restaurant manager myself I'd never let my server charge for a meal the customer a) didn't like or b) didn't eat! Can't say enough good things about our Takeout meal for my birthday. The Chef made me an entree that is not a regular on their menu but is sometimes offered as a Special: clams with rigatoni in cream sauce. My husband ordered the chicken parmigiana. Both entrees were delicious and the portions generous enough for ample leftovers. We both had a house salad that had fresh ingredients and tasty dressing (Parmesan peppercorn). The homemade rolls that came with the meal are always memorable. So glad I chose this restaurant for my birthday dinner! They did not disappoint. Highly recommend! read more

Been here twice, first time the service was ok- slow, barely came around but the food was good. 2nd time we came here, we ended up walking out. We waited 15 minutes and no one ever came to our table to even offer us water, the final straw was when, the table that got sat well after us, got drinks and put in their food order before anyone came to our table at all. At the conter, we ordered a antipasto, chicken cheesesteak, and two chicken parmesan subs. The antipasto was HUGE - probably more for 4 to 6 people than the three of us. The subs also large & stuffed full of fresh & flavorful ingredients, served nice and hot at our table The pizza also looked amazing & we'll check it out next time we're up that way. This place has been here forever. They must do a lot of carry out because it is never busy when I eat i. I live two minutes away and we go every now and then but I don't like it enough to be a regular. The staff is very nice and friendly normally. Sometimes if you order at the counter they don't want to be bothered. The pizza is decent. Not as good as Classico right down the street. Cheesesteaks are pretty good. Fried are OK. Prices are OK. On a recent visit, I tried the Shrimp Chesapeake main entree. This absolutely delicious dish contained healthy sized prawns, mussels and clams in a zesty sauce, on top of a bed of linguini. The portion size was highly respectable for a big eater like me and matched my voracious appetite on this particular occasion. Don't let the look or the strip mall it's in deceive you - this is by far one of the best Italian restaurants I've ever been to. Being from Philadelphia and spending time in NYC, and being obsessed with Italian food, I feel completely confident in ranking Mediterraneo very high on my list. The pasta is homemade, the sauces are homemade, the amazing dinner rolls are homemade, piping hot and completely addictive. I have eaten here for years and have never been disappointed. The quality is consistently high and the food is always phenomenal. Their gnocchi is my absolute favorite and I've gotten many friends absolutely hooked on it as well. People will literally call me randomly and say "remember how good that gnocchi was? I can't stop thinking about it"...it's that good! The gnocchi is normally made with a delicious red sauce, but I always ask for mine with "pink sauce" because it's creamy, tangy, comforting perfection. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. The owner is always nice enough to make it this way for me even though it's not on the menu. In fact, the entire family who owns this place are very kind, friendly and incredibly warm. It makes me happy every time I walk in and the owner recognizes me. Here are some other favorites from their menu: the bruschetta - so fresh, so flavorful and the olive oil they use is out of this world (seriously, it's the best bruschetta you will ever have, anywhere, hands-down, guaranteed)... The spaghetti with marinara -they make this classic dish with some of the best, tastiest, tomato sauce you'll ever taste...cheese ravioli..Mmmm... Chicken piccata - my step mom's absolute favorite...even their sandwiches, cheesesteaks and fries are just really really good....and their pizza is by far the best NY style in town. It doesn't offer much in the way of ambiance, but it's certainly good for families and casual get togethers. Got carry out tonight... not a big fan at all. The salad was basically a bed of lettuce chopped up with a few little slivers of carrot and one grape tomato. The chicken marsala was two paper thin pieces of chicken with some angel hair pasta that was way too overcooked to my liking. At least the mushrooms were good though. My wife's chicken and broccoli was tasteless and the bread was doughy and tasteless too. This isn't our first trip to Mediterraneo. But I officially think it'll be our last. For the price, this is so subpar compared to Liberatories. May as well just carry out from there instead. But my real grip is the menu. We really enjoyed our visit to Mediterraneo. We chose it because it had ample parking for the area, but the food and service was great! The sauce was the best we've had in Maryland. Everything was super fresh and the service was fast and friendly. I wanted to take photos, but my family ate everything so quickly. The food was fine. Nothing amazing, but worthy of 3 or 3 1/2 stars. Service was friendly. But I had iced tea with the meal and when the bill came I was charged $6.00 for two drinks. I called the waiter over and he said they don't give free refills. Well, I had a bit of a problem with that: When I had finished a bit less than half of my first glass of iced tea, the waiter came over and asked "Would you like me to fill that up for you?" I said yes. He took my over 1/2 full glass away and he came back with a full glass. I drank about 2/3 of the second glass. So I paid $3 for less than half a glass of iced tea, and another $3 for 2/3 of a glass. A bit pricey for water and maybe 2 tea bags worth of beverage. If the waiter had told me refills weren't free, I could either have switched to water (they didn't charge for water here like the Blue Bistro in Westminster does) or I could have finished the first glass before getting a second glass. Not a huge deal in terms of my overall financial standing, but irritating. I won't be back. If they had told me of the no free refills policy, it wouldn't have bothered me much, but no one did so. read more

This is the best Italian food in the area, bar none. Their pizza brings me back to my favorite pizzeria in Naples. Wonderful notes of basil and a light well balanced sauce combined with the freshest of cheese makes for a mouth watering experience. All of their pasta is made from scratch and it shows. The meatballs are obviously homemade as well, and I have yet to be disappointed with any of their dishes. The restaurant recently moved to a newly remodeled location off of Pennsylvania Ave. The interior is classy and beautiful with great ambience. There's a small bar and plenty of table and booth seating. Service is prompt and pleasant. This is the closest you'll get to Italy here in small town Westminster. The food was ok/competent, but the service was a big problem. I ordered ice tea with my meal. I had finished about 1/3 of the ice tea when the waiter came by and asked if I'd like it topped off. OK, fine. He comes back with the glass topped off. The bill showed 2 glasses of ice tea. I asked the waiter and he said he distinctly remembered giving me the second glass. I replied that he'd given me 1-1/3 glasses. He just shrugged his shoulders. He didn't get a 20% tip. We haven't been back. read more
