We chose Meduca's due to the Yelp rating. My fellow Yelper's led me to the right place!! Fantastic cup and salsa. I had the 2 taco plate with carnitas tacos. Excellent tacos!!! Service was fast and friendly!! Highly recommend!!

We came here for lunch while spending a weekend in Cambria after watching a protest rally as the restaurant was across the street.. it's a small what appears to be a family owned restaurant. We all thought the food was good although it took longer than expected and one of the 4 dishes had to be remade as it didn't have everything as ordered. It's always nice to find a never heard of restaurant and support what feels like family owned.

Steak Quesidillia. Fresh ingredients and shell toasted just right. Daughter picky eater but this was a hit.

Server was very attentive and kind. Food was quick and delicious. Perfect start to our day.

    Non-itemized bill from Medusa's Cafe

Enchiladas (beef & cheese) were quite good but small. Nice red sauce, refried beans and rice too. Salsa Ranchero and chips were free and excellent. Waiter was very gracious. One big issue was no itemized bill. We simply got a check for just over $38. I don't know how much I was charged for anything. He forgot my side of guacamole. Was I charged for that? I put down an AMEX and got back my signature copy which was now over $39. Was that for the cost of using a credit card? The tip options were calculated for you and started with only a 10% option, but was based on the total bill including state tax. That shouldn't be the case. Your tip is generally based on the pretax amount. . Still, nice the tax didn't begin with the 18% option and go up to 25% like a lot of Bay Area restaurants. I'd go again but ask for an itemized bill next time.

Picked up breakfast burritos and they were delicious! Not a long wait to call in an order.

Came here on vacation, and although there aren't a lot of places to eat, this is definitely one i'll be back to! Everything I ate had great flavor, and it was good portions for the price of everything. The inside, although small, is very homey, which I always find comforting when going to a new restaurant. My server was also very accommodating and made sure to not hover but also was able to make sure we were taken care of. Next time I'm in town I'll make sure to stop by!

Plate with chicken tamale and chile relleno with diced asada on top

This is the one!! Soon as I walked in and saw the yucateco hot sauces on the table and Mexican decor, I knew it would hit! They've got a lot of plate combo options to choose from. I got the chile relleno with the chicken tamale. Pro tip, ask for diced asada on top of the chile relleno. You can thank me later! The asada was a perfect topping as it was nice and crispy. It compliments the chile relleno very well. My friends got jelly and ordered some on the side for their plates as well aha ha. I generally gauge Mexican restaurants by their beans and rice, because if the basics are off, then I assume the rest to be the same. Not here! I can't stress enough how great the food is here. The ambiance is reminiscent of those hole in the wall places that are hidden treasures. Just know that you've came to the right place for Mexican food in town. To top it all off, it was inexpensive for the amount of food we got. The server is very kind and tends to you in a timely manner and frequently to make sure you have all that you need. I just wish this place was near my work so I can visit every day to try the rest of their menu. Thanks you chef at Medusa for the best Mexican meal I've had in a long time!

Great authentic Mexican cuisine. Great service. Their salsa is to die for. Try the chimichanga. It's delicious and huge.

Stopped in after visiting Hearst Castle and enjoyed a good meal. We had a variety of dishes and they were all tasty.

We ordered the rib eye medium…read morerare, spicy tequila cream chicken pasta, cioppino, oysters on a half shell, and calamari frito. I do not eat seafood, therefore this review is based off of my group. My husband enjoyed the oysters stating they were fresh and sweet. My daughter loved the calamari. I was quite underwhelmed with the spicy tequila cream chicken pasta. I was told that the dish was very spicy. To me, there was barely a hint of heat to it. The flavors was lacking. I feel as if the sliced onions should be left out. Our friend ordered the cioppino and mentioned the same thing, the sliced onions made the dish taste a little off but otherwise delicious. The kids fusilli with Parmesan was ok. It was basically tossed in butter and she can add her own Parmesan. The rib eye came out medium well. We thought that maybe it was just the ends that were a bit more cooked, however, almost the entire steak was medium well. The only part that we didn't eat was looked to be medium. Although the steak was not cooked to our preferred temperature, it was very flavorful and tender. And we sure were hungry after a day of exploring. We ate nearly the entire plate. I didn't want to mention anything since we ate 90% of the plate, but our friend convinced us to bring it up to the server. And so I did, not wanting to anything to be done about it. We did nearly finish it. We also did not want to wait longer for the steak to be re-made. I paid for my tab and it was well under what I had expected the total to be. I scanned through the itemized receipt and realized that they took off the steak. I felt ashamed for even bringing it up since we basically ate it all. The cocktails were great. Not too watered down or too heavy with alcohol. The restaurant has an amazing view overlooking the Pacific Ocean and offers outdoor seating. The service is quick and everyone was very friendly. Will I came again? For sure. Just not for pasta.

Tip: Order a sandwich and get a cup of chowder instead of fries for $2. Note on the bottled water complaints: Bars make most of their money on drinks. There were so many kids and adults drinking bottled water here. Is this a SoCal thing? Maybe it's just me, but when I bring my kids to eat at a bar I let them drink soda. :)

And the onion rings were pretty boring. I don't think they make them there, I am not sure about that, though. But they had kind of a generic look and feel to them, but the problem was they had zero flavor. Like nobody put salt on them when they took them out of the fryer. That's the first thing you do when you pull something out of a fryer, you season it. The server was nice enough, but they have a thing now where if you ask for water, they want to sell you a bottle of water. I get that things are tough for restaurants, but I almost rather pay a little more for the sandwich and get water, if you know what I mean. I'm no food expert, or running a restaurant expert, these are just my reactions as a local who stops in here fairly regularly. I think if the folks who run this place feel like there's any value to my little thoughts, they would be easy to fix and wouldn't cost anything at all really. I've been coming here for years, and I want these folks to do well.
