My husband and I were in Morro Bay for a few days and got in a little later than we normally would. Restaurants here typically close earlier than most so our options were limited but I'm so glad we got to try this spot. The food was yummy! I got a burrito and my husband got enchiladas. We also got jalapeño poppers that were heavenly and the ranch was so good! And when you ask for extra (like sour cream) they really do give you extra! The albondigas soup was good as well - flavorful broth and packed with all the yummy veggies, I just wish they gave more meat. I can't speak for the inside or the service other than the cashier (who was friendly) since we got our food to go and ate in our hotel room. Either way - we'll definitely be back.

There weren't a ton of restaurants open on Christmas Eve, so we landed on Mi Casa. Super welcoming staff, and cute little spot. Got a strawberry margarita, which wasn't the strongest in booze or flavor, but did the job. I got the two item with a cheese enchilada and a shredded beef taco, while my sister got 2 enchiladas. My sister demolished hers, whereas I thought mine was good, but I got too full to want to finish it. Nothing life changing but a solid Mexican spot, and would probably try the tamales next time, since I could hear the neighboring table hyping those up.

Ordered our shrimp burrito to go. They were prompt with our order and very friendly. We got chips and salsa and it was tasty and not too hot. The burrito was hearty and I saved half to eat the next day. It was delicious. Pick-up was easy and it was ready on time. Parking is limited and you may need to park on the street.

Staff are very friendly and attentive. The prices were fair. The food unfortunately was very bland and not very good. Since the price was right, I wanted to try a little of everything. I got the three item combo. I tried a tamale, hard shell taco and enchilada. I really tried to like it since staff were so nice, but ate less than half. Also, I think it's a little ridiculous that they charge customers a fee for chips and salsa as Mexican spots usually offer it free of charge. The margaritas were tasty although they weren't very boozy but I guess what do I expect for $9 margaritas?

    Nice colors and clean !!

Underrated restaurant, food has that family recipe that is hard to find . Friendly staff and quiet ambiance. I really suggest to give them a chance to impress you.

New Location, same great food and service. Sure we miss Lo Lo's but we have another family thats taken their place and done us all a good one, the Mi Casa place on the east side of main street. Now not much has changed inside but Looking at the menu I'm sure you'll find your favorite's. Oh look there Fajitas...cool. I will also mention that they are Open for Breakfast at 8am daily!...Hello Stop by and sit down for a meal support our local businesses. Say hi, introduce yourself, be a sustainable regular. Yes they actually have an ocean view too we'll see you there neighbor. foodguy-martin

This is one of the best Mexican Restaurants that I've been to the food was very authentic and the service was amazing. If you're lucky Liz will be your server. Cannot say enough good things about this place.

Michelada! Had the perfect rim created by our wonderful waitress, Daisy!

One man at the cash register taking orders. You could read the menu behind him posted on the wall. Very basic options and the interior seating was at 1950s style linoleum kitchen tables and chairs. Probably bought at a flea market. We were crushed. I had a combo platter of one crispy carnitas taco at $23. Ground beef. Very basic and lacked flavor. Outrageous for over $20. Wife had two enchiladas a la carte, cheese and green at $13. Mush. At least we have our memories and hope that someone will come along to resurrect it into at least something close to what was.

The tendon comes from the area above the hooves. I request not to have the hoof. This is an ode and a love letter to a people and a culture that took what would have been discarded ingredients and made it phenomenal. Most other restaurants in the area only serve this on the weekend and usually reserved for Sunday, but here it is a daily staple and has become my go to dish. The tripe is cooked thoroughly and holds on to the rich flavors of the both with profound care. And the broth is unctuous and rich while steeped in the history of chilies and patience. The tendon when added in gives a greater depth and silkiness that elevates this dish even further. Of course, onion, coriander and oregano gives it the perfect herbaceous notes and balances out the richness with cool notes. This isn't just a soup, this is an experience that one has to have, that one deserves. To taste the food of a people's is to understand their strength, perseverance, their love and ultimately brings you one step closer to a cultural awakening that you didn't know that you needed.

Here's what we noticed: - The inside is pretty nice, lighter inside than you would expect from looking at it on the outside because of the skylights. The paint inside is a little tired and there's some cobwebs, etc. around but it still had a nice atmosphere. The chairs and tables are a bit tired, but ok. - The menu is pretty broad, and the prices seemed pretty reasonable. - My wife and I decided to split two different meals, the Al Pastor Burrito (which was served with a small salad) and the combo plate of Sofa and Chili Relleno. The portions on both dishes were really good, such that we took half the burrito home for later. The food was very tasty! - Service was just fine, although it was a pretty quiet time at lunch on a Thursday. Bottom line: This is a solid Mexican place, better than some in the area. We'll come back again, maybe to get take-out next time.

On a quick day trip on a Friday afternoon, we decided to give this place a try. No reservation and were promptly greeted and seated. Although we did not have a full bay view, we had a partial bay view. Some hits and misses with food and service. 1. Bowl of Clam Chowder (no bread bowls available). Chowder was piping hot and had nice pieces of clams (dad got a bit of clam shell..so be careful), celery and potatoes. The chowder was very creamy and not grainy or watery like other locations. I would definitely order again 5/5 2. Fish & Chips: Fresh Pacific cod, lightly breaded, served with house-made tartar sauce. Fish was fried to perfection. 5/5 3. Seafood Pasta: Linguini with jumbo prawns, fresh catch, Cajun cream sauce, garlic bread. Everything tasted fresh and seasoned perfectly 5/5 4. Side of Garlic bread: extremely disappointing. We ordered garlic bread with our chowder, it never came. Waitress decided to serve it with the mains (fish and chips) and we ordered for the entire table and she only brought 2 pieces. 5. Insalata Molina: Mixed greens, arugula, pear, walnuts, crumbled blue cheese, mango vinaigrette. Couldn't tell you if this was any good bc the waitress NEVER brought but charged us for it. She then takes it off the bill and brings me the salad in a Styrofoam container. I told her I didn't want it and put it in my bag. Salad was so soggy (which means the kitchen prepared it and the waitress forgot to serve it) I would not order and do not recommend ordering it bc it was the size of a side salad definitely not worth the price point. 6. Mocktail Lavender lemonade: definitely not balanced, was pretty tart and again the price point was off. It was about 8oz lemonade for $12 They do offer a nice selection of wines. Restrooms are located outside the restaurant and are public restrooms, pretty dirty and out of stock. Although our service was a big miss, I do recommend the food items we ordered. I did take a star off due to the service.

There was also parking right in front, with no line, which was convenient. I wanted something fried, but when I saw that they use canola oil, I decided to go with the salmon tacos instead. Salmon isn't exactly a local fish, but it's usually a safe bet, especially when it's fresh frozen. I got the salmon tacos, which came as two tacos on two tortillas. The salmon was topped with a little cabbage and tomato, melted cheese, and what seemed to be some onion and cilantro. They also included a small serving of salsa. Overall, they were decent, but not the best salmon tacos I've had. One thing that was a little annoying was that some of the salmon had the dark "bloodline" still attached. I usually scrape that off because I find that part of the fish more bitter and strongly flavored. That's especially awkward with tacos because you're trying to remove it from pieces of fish that are already in the taco. I've had salmon tacos elsewhere where that part had been trimmed off, so there was nothing to deal with. No bones, though. The tacos were a little pricey at just over $20 with tax, but you're in a tourist area and it's California, so that wasn't exactly surprising. They made for a decent meal, and sitting outside was pleasant.
