Warm and cozy place with a family home cooked food. Traditional American food with delicious sandwiches and a various choice of home made pies, always fresh from the kitchen. The friendly staff will serve you with warmth and steepness. A large room behind could fit largest parties and it feels like you're be part of this warmest little town of upstate New York. Nice, quiet and clean diner like atmosphere they also offer catering space. We stopped in for late lunch and received good fast service, my husband loves the liver and onions. They offer onion rings, and sweet potato fries, along with the usual sides. Their specialty is the pie selection. Fresh blackberry pie is awesome. read more

Stopped in somewhat randomly on our way thru the area just getting off the interstate. The food was well worth the time and more. We just decided to stay a little while longer than "grab a bite" and go. Our server, Michelle, treated us like family. The chocolate mayonnaise cake was much better than Mom or Grandma used to make! First time being here, we came on the advice of a friend. What an incredible place in the most unlikely of places. First of all its got all the charm of a small town diner and it was obvious by the number of people that it's a favorite. Good amount of seating and seemed well staffed. Ok, on to the food. I got the grilled chicken melt. This was unarguably the best grilled chicken sandwich I've had. It was a nice thick piece of chicken not a thin floppy patty cooked perfectly. I forgot the name of the kind of bun they used but it was great. A little skimpy on the chips but the sandwich more than made up for it. Exited to see they had pickled beets as a side. I didn't have it but the guy next to us said their liver and onions is second to none. I'll try it next time. If you come make sure you save room for desert. All homemade pies (and a lot to choose from), I had strawberry rhubarb. Now my mom makes incredible pie so they had a lot to live up to, but they certainly hit the mark! I was excited to come to Meeder's because of the rave reviews. I am very disappointed. Service was not good. The onions were burnt on the sausage sandwich. The salad and stuffed potato were good. However, being known, for WORLD FAMOUS PIES, was not the case. The blueberry peach was fair at best. There was an odd bitter taste to it. The apple pie was fine, not worth the drive for World Famous Pie. When I told the waitress that this was my first visit and I was disappointed she got very defensive. I will not return. read more

Their list of pies was long and comprehensive. My wife chose peach and I chose peanut butter nutter butter- both were fabulous. It was busy but we were well cared for. My coffee and water never ran dry. Their sweet bread with dinner was unusual and delicious. It was a wonderful small town experience- I think half the town may have been there when we were. We stopped here on our way across country. If you are not from here don't bother stopping. They will not serve you. We stood at the door for a few minutes not knowing if we should seat ourselves. Then after a couple minutes I asked the young girl if we could seat ourselves and she said yes. After sitting for a few more minutes she came to the table and asked if we would need menus. That was a strange question. Yes, please. Then we waited another 15 minutes and no one came back to us. However, a local gentleman came in and didn't need a menu got his food and sweet service. Been to Meeder's many times over the years. It's a cute friendly place, but their primary mission is saving money on ingredient costs. Their quality level on everything is "buy cheap", and over the years, "find cheaper". Their latest fiasco was to violate their signature breakfast sandwich, the McMeeder. The McMeeder is (was) a tasty patty sausage, egg, and cheese on a bagel. First they managed to find what appears to be shaved sausage patty that is half the thickness it used to be. Then the bagel got replaced by this miniature bagel that is about the size of a Hostess Donette. Don't even get me started on the dinner quality! read more

It's a great little grubby food joint. Food is neither delicious or terrible, but service can be slow. Ordered the milkshake, based on reviews, and I've had better from places like Johnny Rockets or Red Robin, so don't get your hopes up for an awesome milkshake (I'm a bit of a milkshake snob). I ordered the jumbo fish sandwich, I suppose my idea of jumbo is different from theirs, it really wasn't any bigger than any fast food place making fish sandwiches. Someone reviewed that portions had gotten smaller and ingredients were not the same quality and have never eaten here before, I can only imagine how great this place was back in the day. I'm still undecided as to how I feel about this place. It's a small town diner so it's basic. The service is super friendly and efficient. The food is average and the prices are unbelievably reasonable. (Can you say lunch for under $10?) but the pies are the things for which people return. If you've got a hankering for some homemade pie, this is your stop. read more

Wow! I haven't been here in over 10 years and decided to go here for our Friday lunch date. They are just as good today as they were on my last visit. The prime rib special was wonderful. My husband had the meatloaf and said it was the best he ever ate! Our waitress was friendly and efficient. It was well worth the hour and 1/2 drive it took to get there. read more

Stopped here on our way to Chicago from Niagara Falls for lunch and it was a really good meal. A home town American dinner with a great selection, good prices, and great service. Anyone passing through and looking for a place to eat should definately stop here. read more

Been here many times ....today ordered the eggplant lasagna ....awful. Came out on the plate in chunks. Lots of bread, very little eggplant. Waitress never came back to ask how it was or I would have sent it back. Then I ordered a piece pie to eat there and one to take home. Got the last two pieces. The waitress put the small piece in the to go container. (which I could not see). I looked in the container and called the size difference to her attention. Said she could take a dollar off the price. Why didn't she point it out instead of hiding the smaller piece in the to go container ? I got the feeling she is one of the owners, or the owners daughter. Agree with other reviews... food is definitely mediocre and today's service was very poor. Will not rush back there anytime soon. read more

Super friendly folks, busy at 3pm on a Saturday which was surprising! Food was tasty home style and price was right. A grilled cheese with sweet potato fries, a grilled chicken sandwich with bacon and cheese and a side of fries, and a hamburger noodle soup with a cheese burger. My family stopped by on our way to Toronto for lunch on a Thursday. There were a lot more cars there than I expected for where it was located. Quite a number of customers were elderly. The service was friendly and good. We ordered two grilled chicken salads, one fish sandwich and one chicken tenders. Everything came with fries including the salads (like a topping). My wife and I enjoyed our salads and thought it hit the right note of freshness and taste and volume. My youngest liked the fish sandwich. The older one thought he had better chicken tenders elsewhere but thought it was okay (3.5 out of 5). We were pleasantly surprised by the lemonade my youngest ordered. It came with one free refill and wasn't too sweet or too sour. As an experience, it also rated high because it was like being part of a slice of small town life for a brief moment. But, getting back on the highway was a little trickier than I expected. We traveled east on Main St (route 20) for a while before my GPS took me north and then back onto 90 East. read more

They did comp 2 desserts, but the cherry pie was stiff as a board and not very good. If you have 2 hours to kill for lunch this is the place for you. Last time I was there we waited 20 minutes to even get noticed, then another hour to get our food, and no one came over to ask us if we needed anything the whole time we were eating. The food was not even worth the wait; greasy, over cooked and not even hot. It's was just plain bad food. While they were at about 3/4 capacity in the main dining room where we were sitting, I don't think how busy they were should let them off the hook. Restraunts are suppose to be able to handle crowds. All the locals in the area recommended Meeders. Thought I give it a try. I ordered the meatloaf dinner. The meatloaf had no seasoning and no taste. The mashed potatoes, I'm pretty sure were instant. We recently were looking for a new place to try, came across Meeders and decided to stop in. Staff was super friendly, we were greeted by at least four people just walking in...even the patrons were friendly. The atmosphere reminded me of a soda shop with a country flair. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful in deciding what to order. The fair is American home cooking, which they deliver on. But oh my the portions are huge! I had well over half my meal left on my plate, the food was good and really good for the value. Their menu is full of comfort foods. We had noticed half way through our meal we must have popped in right before they close, we were never rushed, our waitress noticed we were trying to be polite and hurry through our meal and insisted we take our time. Until we asked for a take home box did she deliver the check, we were bid friendly farewells by over half the staff as we left. As far as service goes this establishment nails it. We've all been to places where they are shoving you through the door, we were there well past their closing and treated as welcome friends...we will visit again to one of the friendliest restaurants we've ever been to. read more
