The Stedman is a little off the path but has a nice atmosphere and good food. Good for Breakfast and Lunch.

Love that Stedman's is doing a holiday take home dinner menu for Christmas!

Wonderful weekend dinner at this funky fun cafe. We've heard the breakfasts were great and decided to try dinner. The food, wine list and desserts were terrific. And our server was just fantastic. They are working on a basement wine bar (so smart), which we look forward to visiting next year when we're back in the area. It's just three miles from Chautauqua Institution, and all families should give it a try. Also, we're headed back to Stedman tomorrow morning for breakfast. Can't wait until next time!

The service was quick and efficient. The latté has just enough strength to balance the vanilla. Good selection of breakfast sandwiches.

If you've never been, Chautauqua is unlike anywhere we've traveled. It's a gated community on Chautauqua Lake filled with historic homes, beautiful gardens, walking paths, and a summer calendar packed with lectures, concerts, theater, classes, and other events. There's always something happening, but it never feels rushed. One of our favorite things to do is simply wander the grounds. Every street seems to have another beautiful porch, garden, or historic building waiting around the corner. We also love walking along the lake in the morning and ending the day with a concert at the Amphitheater. My biggest piece of advice? Don't overschedule yourself. Of course, attend the lectures and performances that interest you, but also leave plenty of time to explore. Some of our favorite memories have come from slowing down, sitting on a porch, or discovering another quiet corner of the Institution. I've included lots of photos because it's hard to capture the charm of Chautauqua with words alone.

Views of the lake are incredible and it's fun to go kayaking or canoeing at the boat shop. Go during July 4th! You'll wish it was like that everyday!

Andriaccio's has a large Italian menu, and because we've been several times - sometimes just the two of us, other times with friends - we've had the chance to try a lot of it. I'm especially fond of their pizza, but the pasta and steak dishes have also been consistently good. There really aren't any bad choices on the menu. Service is another strong point. Even when the restaurant is busy, the waitstaff is always polite, attentive, and unhurried. They check in regularly and make you feel taken care of without hovering. It's reliable, welcoming, and exactly the kind of place you're grateful to have nearby when options are limited.

There were only 2 other tables and we had a long wait time on drink refills because our waitress was talking with friends while the kitchen kept dining the pick up bell for her for about 5 minutes straight. No sides come with the pasta dishes not even a slice of bread. Our food came out luke warm on ice cold plates. The flavor of the spaghetti and meatballs were amazing, but they break their noodles in half which is a sin and it was room temperature. The flavor of the Alfredo was very bland. The chicken had zero seasoning and it tasted like it was from a can or frozen and boiled with chunks of cartilage in it. I told the waitress and asked for seasoning or something to save it. Nothing did. I had 2 bites of it and left it all on the dish in a big pile. When the waitress came she looked right at it and I told her I didn't like it at all. She still charged us the upcharge for the uneaten chicken that I complained about twice. I always tip at the very least 20% everywhere, today I tipped $3.

Also, I had one of their breakfast sandwiches and found it to be one of the best I've ever had; totally delicious, and totally satisfying. We sat for dinner at 6pm; one or two other tables were outside along with us. Our server, when giving us our drinks, apologized and stated she basically forgot about us... which seemed to be how the whole night ended up! We got an appetizer that was served with our drinks, and it took 30 minutes to arrive. We ordered our food, waiting and watching as at least 6 tables were seated. They all had gotten their food before we did, and they arrived at least 10-30 mins after us. The owner comes over and notices the sour look on our faces and states she will go figure out our food order... After watching more tables get their food we decided to ask for our food to go as this is now an hour and fifteen minutes since we've been sat. The owner then states that because we got an appetizer, our food took longer... but the tables that arrived after us got their appetizer AND meal before we got our meal. One of them was even getting their check while we still hadn't gotten our food. Our server checked on us probably one time, and no apologies were given for the wait. The owner states that "it's dinner rush and Saturday night, everyone came in at the same time," which I understand the first part, but no ma'am, they came at least 10+ minutes after we had already been seated. The owner barely apologized for the whole time we were sitting waiting, being ignored, and even told us our food had been sitting on the counter... for who knows how long! She then "so kindly" removed the appetizer from our check. Two of the orders we took home were incorrect, leaving this whole situation even more frustrating. Very displeased with the service, but the owner herself and we won't be returning!
