Meet Fresh is definitely the most authentic place you can get Taiwanese bubble tea/dessert around! Business was slower pre-Covid and during Covid but they have been super busy every time I've gone recently. There is plently of seating both inside and outside though! I love the smell of freshly brewed tea everytime I walk in the door and the store has a clean, minimalistic vibe to it. I've tried many of their drinks (especially during exam season lol) and my favorites are their fluffy grass jelly slush and pudding milk tea! The seasonal mango sago drink (pictured here) was AMAZING but unfortunately it was so popular it was sold out a lot and I only got to try it once before it was gone As for the desserts, I will say that the shaved ice is not as good as other places (aka cha house) because the ice itself isn't fluffy enough. They are generous with their toppings though, and it's a huge portion that can easily serve 3-4 people. The other dessert I've gotten is the tofu pudding and I would definitely recommend it! It's not too sweet and reminds me of my childhood eating it at dimsum :) The matcha red bean egg waffle is also super yummy!!
Oh wow. I mean..... WOW!!! Some friends of mine introduced me to Taiwanese ice on a blistering hot summer day and I can no longer imagine enjoying anything else to cool off. We ordered the seasonal mango ice and it was DELICIOUS. Be prepared- these dishes are easily shareable...but you won't want to once you take a bite! I will be returning soon!!
FAT portion sizes. Like actually ginormous. If I didn't just come from a filling dinner, it would seem more appetizing, but honestly, looking at a gigantic tower of ice, cream, and ice cream was just a little too much. We got a boba tea one and added red bean. Really really good though. Just a bit intimidated by the size.
This popped up on my search of desserts in the area. After seeing it was shaved ice, I just had to come! It's located in a cute shopping area. Note that there is a roundabout and one way streets so make sure to read the signs! Parking is available, but if it's busy you may need to park farther away. It is vary spacious with seating spread apart. We came around 5-6, but unfortunately they were out of their main ingredients for their seasonal shaved ice menu items as well as the egg waffles. They were good enough to have a sign up listing out of stock ingredients. Not to be deterred, my friend and I ordered the Pudding & Q Mochi Milk Shaved Ice (with caramel pudding as substitute for the out of stock almond jelly) to share. It was absolutely delicious, huge, and perfect for the hot weather! Every bite was just the right amount of sweetness for me (side note that it may be too sweet if you think Starbucks frapps are too much). I didn't really taste melon in the melon jelly, but it might have been too subtle for me. We made sure to have dessert before dinner and ended up just needing one entree w/rice dish for dinner at another restaurant. Upon ordering, you receive a pager. Tray return is right down the hall past the bathrooms. I will definitely be coming back to try their other menu items!
Tried their new matcha series! This location is very spacious with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Matcha shaved ice - Loved the toppings! Matcha snow topped with strawberry ice cream, sweet potato/taro balls, red bean, BOBA, and jelly! The ice was not as fluffy as bingsu but the variety of textures made it very fun to eat! Fluffy matcha smoothie - Amazing toppings! Less bitter, more toppings and creamier than the latte smoothie Matcha latte smoothie - Strong matcha flavor! Can really taste the bitterness (which I liked) Hot matcha latte - Comforting & smooth! Service was a bit slow but everything was aesthetic and high quality!
This place is super authentic! If you're looking for Taiwanese shaved ice, this is the place. I've been to their locations all across the US and in Taiwan. And let me tell you, the level of consistency and quality that they have is astounding. Each place I've been to has tasted as amazing as the last. It really doesn't get better than this, especially in the nearby area you won't get anything as good as Meet Fresh in terms of Taiwanese shaved ice.
It was a fun location with some decent Boba. The desserts looked insane in their quantity but we were too full to try one, we'll have to be back because they looked like the real feature. Such satisfying hot and cold dessert! If you've never been here, choose from the "Out Top 5" list. You can't go wrong unless you're allergic to an ingredient. It's not easy to find delicious hot dessert, and was so glad to know that there is a Meet Fresh in North Carolina. No Asian dessert translates well into English, but the hot purple rice dessert is so satisfying on a cold winter.
Come for the bubble tea, stay for the shaved ice We all know this place has the best bubble tea in town. So let's talk about the shaved ice. Was craving some dessert after dinner so we came here. Got the red bean shaved ice and it was perfect. Sweet, decadent yet refreshing. Perfect amount of sweetness. Scoop of ice cream on top so good. And the portion size....monster. As a couple, barely made a dent. Finished maybe 1/3. Will need to recruit more people next time.
I have a Meet Fresh in my hometown in Texas, but this location is seriously so good and consistent. I crave it every time I leave for Texas. The workers are really nice and efficient, and the store is always clean. I love their jasmine milk tea + taro + red beans, and I've heard good things about their other drinks too. My friends and I ordered a shaved ice + toppings last year when I visited, and it was also delicious. I highly recommend!
The Fresh black Milk Tea with Taro and taro balls is SO good! One of my favorite drinks! The Taro is freshly blended instead of powdered, and their drinks are not too sweet and are perfectly flavored. It is a little pricey - $6.99 for this one drink, and that's why I give it four stars. I've tried other desserts - again, not too sweet. Also, there is a large Chinese community customer presence, which I think goes to show that this place is quite authentic. However, they are very safe with Covid. There is outdoor seating for now, and the staff seem to use hand sanitizer in between each order.
Meet Fresh in Chapel Hill gets a solid four stars out of me. This is a popular dessert chain from Taiwan. Chapel Hill is lucky to have it as opposed to another city in the Triangle. In fact, at the time of writing this review, this is the only Meet Fresh location in the state of North Carolina. It opened in Meadowmont Village in 2018. The only other location in the Southeast is in Doraville, Georgia (Atlanta): https://www.yelp.com/biz/meet-fresh-atlanta. Meet Fresh specializes in impressive-looking and tasty shaved ice desserts, icy desserts featuring taro balls and grass jelly, tofu pudding, cold red bean, grass jelly, and purple rice dessert soups, and hot almond dessert soup. Each of these are customizable with a multitude (over 23) toppings from ice cream to sesame rice balls to melon jelly. Generally, these desserts are sweet, creamy, icy, and delectably silky smooth and/or chewy. The textures and flavors, like the tapioca pearls and various jellies in bubble tea, are fairly unique to Taiwanese cuisine (but popular all over Asia) and they are what make these particular types of desserts special. In addition to desserts, Meet Fresh offers drinks -- all sorts of teas (milk tea, winter melon tea, lychee jelly tea, herbal tea, fruit tea), fresh milk and soy milk drinks, and slushes; one size only (22 ounces). In my opinion, Meet Fresh's drinks (not just this location specifically) are just OK. The shaved ice desserts and dessert soups, however, are outstanding and should be the main draw. In other words, I wouldn't come here only for the drinks. Quickly is an alternative, just a few doors down, for bubble tea and Taiwanese fried snack foods (Quickly is another well-known Taiwanese brand). On my first visit to this Meet Fresh location, my wife and I got the Pudding & Q Mochi Milk Shaved Ice ($11.90). This is one of Meet Fresh's top sellers. It comes with almond pudding, caramel pudding, mini taro balls, jelly noodles, Q mochi, and ice cream. On this particular visit, my wife wanted the Mango Milk Shaved Ice (same price, $11.90), but the store didn't have it at the time (seasonal item). That was fine though because the Pudding & Q Mochi Milk Shaved Ice was excellent. My favorite part was the sweet and creamy shaved ice center. It tasted like sweetened condensed milk had been poured into the ice. Meet Fresh's ice is finely-shaven, delicate, fluffy, and also crunchy. My wife's favorite part was the dark sticks of Q mochi. This dessert came with two kinds of Q mochi, dark and light. The dark had more flavor. Both - and really, all toppings - had fantastic, appetizing consistency. The single scoop of ice cream on top of the shaved ice was cookies and cream. If you've never had shaved ice from Meet Fresh before, this is a good one to try. In addition, we got a couple of drinks. I ordered the Fluffy Winter Melon Tea with Mini Taro Balls ($6.00, another top seller) and my wife ordered the Oolong Tea with Lychee Jelly ($4.00). We both asked for lower sugar, but according to the menu, half sugar is the lowest you can go on the Winter Melon Teas and "only regular sugar option" is available on the Lychee Jelly Teas. Our teas didn't taste "quarter sugar" or "less sweet," but instead "sugar-free." The teas and toppings were average. Some sweetness would have helped. The toppings provided some sweetness. Sadly, I can't say the "fluffy" cream top on the Fluffy Winter Melon Tea added anything. All this is to say I can't recommend either of these drinks the way we ordered them. On my second visit, my wife and I brought my mom (she loves Asian desserts) and we got the 8 Treasures Shaved Ice ($11.90). It comes with mung beans, sweet potato, barley, red beans, peanuts, kidney beans, melon jelly, mini taro balls, cookies and cream ice cream. Simply put, we prefer the Pudding & Q Mochi Milk Shaved Ice. Not that the 8 Treasures Shaved Ice was bad, but it has a more "beany" and pasty texture, which is fine if that's what you like. I prefer the smoother, silkier textures of pudding and jelly. The ice portion again was wonderfully sweet thanks to the condensed milk. Also on my second visit, I had a Black Sugar Fresh Milk with Boba. The sugar level can't be adjusted on this one. The sweetness comes purely from the boba and syrup. The boba and syrup was fresh and hot at the bottom with cold milk poured on top. Mixed together, this drink was the best I've had of the drinks I've tried from this location so far. But still, overall, generally just okay. It's sweetened milk with boba at the end of the day. During my visits to this Meet Fresh, indoor dining was closed. Fortunately, this location has patio seating, though the amount of tables are limited to just a handful - five or so tables, partially covered. This Meet Fresh is nice and so is the development it's located in (Meadowmont Village). TL;DR - If you're looking for a dessert place in the Triangle that offers desserts that are both delicious and fun, I recommend Meet Fresh.
I was in the mood for something cold and sweet so I stopped by Meet Fresh for the first time. It is located in a very nice shopping area in Chapel Hill and they offer both indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered a mango milk shaved ice which was not bad but not great. The mango tasted less fresh and more like it had been sitting in a syrup. The dining area really felt unclean including the tables, chairs, bathroom, and floors. It just seemed like it had been a while since having a deep clean and it really needed it. It kind of ruined the experience for me. Overall I would be willing to give them another try in hopes that I visited on an off day. read more
This place has the best shaved ice! The only down side is that there are only 1-2 juice options. The rest of the smoothies have a base of tea. We usually come here after dinner, so unfortunately, I haven't been able to try the teas but they look delicious! I would recommend the strawberry smoothie and mango smoothie. It's perfectly sweet and very tasty. I believe the mango has some tea in it so beware! read more
My friend and I came to Meet Fresh for dessert. I've been wanting to try Meet Fresh forever and I'm so happy I've finally had the chance! We shared a black sugar boba milky shaved ice and it was super sweet (in the best way possible)! I loved the tapioca bubbles and the flan toppings! I finally got to try this perfect for sharing dessert spot. We had the shaved ice. It comes with ice cream on top and then it was recommended that 4 items are added. We went for brown sugar boba, mini taro balls, caramel pudding and mango jelly. I loved the different flavors. It was perfect for a hot day and eating outside! The staff was very friendly and quick to serve. read more
The authenticity!! This experience exceeded all my expectations and all my desert dreams. The shaved ice desert was phenomenal. It was also HUGEEEE!!! We got ours with condensed milk, boba, lychee jelly and mochi. Their mochi is authentic. It is chewy and sweet. We got two big pieces of it. I cant believe how creamy the ice cream was. The syrup from the boba and lychee mixed with the condensed milk make the whole bowl of shaved ice bowl so incredibly delicious and sweet and creamy. All the flavors somehow mixed well. The best part of all of this is that you can pick all your toppings and flavors. Also THIS IS A HUGE TUB of ice and toppings. Don't let the "shaved ice" part discourage you from trying this. I thought it was "just" ice and boba. NO. It's so much more than that. We couldn't stop eating from it. I'm sure it's like a million calories but they err generous with the toppings. Meet fresh is the new new. My sister and I have found our new addiction. I can go on and on and on about how much we loved this. We can't wait to come back and try more. They have boba, bowls, shaved ice, and so much more. read more
This place has pretty much all my favorite desserts in one place. Shave ice? Tofu Pudding? Bubble tea? Mochi / rice balls / taro balls? Everything is so delicious. I think my ideal dish would be shave ice with red bean, taro, taro balls, rice balls, and condensed milk. But I would be happy with pretty much anything on this menu. Atmosphere: Meet Fresh has a clean and organized interior that is cool and refreshing. The shop is decently sized and spacious for a dessert shop, with several available tables. Service: You order at the counter and get your order there when it is ready. Our order came out quickly and with no problems! Food: We ordered the Pudding & Q Mochi Milk Shaved Ice, which was amazing! The ice itself had a nice texture and the right amount of sweetness to it. The puddings were flavorful and complemented the ice well! However, our favorite ingredients were the Melon Jelly and Q Mochi. The Melon Jelly had just a hint of sweetness and had a very desirable slippery, chewy texture. The Q Mochi was the perfect combination of soft, sweet, and sticky. Overall: Meet Fresh is one of our favorite dessert shops in the Triangle. Their Shaved Ice portions are huge, and from our experience, they can easily feed a group of 4. As a result, their delicious, high quality ingredients alongside their reasonable prices make their shaved ice desserts the best bang for your buck if out with friends. read more

I went to this place because seeing my friend's post and this is something I've been looking for. While in this area, I swing by to this place; it's only 10 minutes away from UNC- Chapel Hill. For me inside is not so inviting at all, not a place I would hang out with friends. Need to be organized, look at the inside picture. Taste also very bland... read more
This place can be so busy at times and I love their boba! My go-to is the traditional milk tea with egg custard - must try this topping. My dad loved his Taro shaved ice and my friends and I enjoy sharing the Mango shaved ice (seasonal). The staff is super friendly and gives me recommendations when I am stuck in choosing from the vast menu. **Big tip** Make sure to join their rewards program so you can receive perks including free topping or even free drinks. Three words. Taiwanese Shaved Ice. There you go. That's five stars. Where can you find well executed shaved ice in triangle. Plus they have cold and hot desserts with infinite amount of topping options. I came here looking for a snack before dinner. And I found myself a hidden treasure near UNC. The lovely red bean sweet soup was so satisfying that I didn't have to have dinner. Sweet tooth alert: you might found the desserts here not sweet enough to your liking. So refreshing! This restaurant is very appropriately named. Firstly, the restaurant is nice and bright and tables are distanced. The service is fast and pleasant with a very helpful cashier. Interestingly each time I've gone they click the no tip button on the credit card machine. I wonder if this is because in some Asian countries tipping is not part of the culture, but they do deserve it. My favorite is the tofu pudding with taro and black sesame balls. They also have shaved ice AND boba tea! It also doesn't hurt that the stay open until 9:30 pm on Friday! Love this place and will come back! read more

This cool little shop serves delicious Taiwanese style desserts featuring items that most people don't think of as dessert such as beans, taro and peanuts. Time to change your views because these desserts are delicious! They serve both hot and cold desserts soups and puddings as well as boba teas, shaved ices and small bites like mochis and puddings. Our favorites are the almond soups (winter only) and the grass jelly. It's on my to-do list to try more of their menu offerings since there are hundreds of combinations to be had! read more

I loved my visit to Meet Fresh! While it was not my first time coming here, I mentioned to the guy at the cash register when I ordered that I never tried tofu pudding with almond soup and he gave me a sample of the almond soup to try before I ordered. I really appreciated that! Afterwaeds, I ordered the tofu pudding with almod, pudding with q mochi milk shaved ice, icy grass jelly signature, and the Matcha Deluxe egg waffle. The egg waffle was delicious, but for anyone who is craving strong matcha flavor this may be a bit mild for you as it is more of a hint of shaved ice. The shaved ice was absolutely delicious, as was the icy grass jelly signature! I loved all the mochi toppings and puddings. Definitely coming back as I want to try the red bean soup next! read more
classic classic taiwanese dessert! for those who love taro, i highly recommend getting something with their taro paste. it is made out of fresh taro and taste heavenly! their portions are very generous, I would say if you are just here for a small treat sharing would be the way to go. the place is very spacious and comfortable with lots of tables and chairs. definitely a great place to hang out with friends! read more

An Amazing dessert place! Recently discovered this place through a friend and what a surprise Meet Fresh was. Located in a very easy to find spot in Meadowmont in Chapel Hill, Meet Fresh has interior dining and outdoor seating and also offers take out. Their menu is honestly a little intimidating since I've had little experience with Taiwanese desserts. Thankfully their most popular items on their menu are probably the best way to go for newcomers or people looking to experience the highlights. There's so many things I wanted to try but wasn't initially sure about portion sizes and how filling things were. My wife and I split the Pudding & Q Mochi Milk Shaved Ice which is really the perfect amount for two people to split or great for one person with a heck of an appetite. I also got the Mini Q (Mini Taro Ball) Winter Melon Tea (which is like a refreshing melon tea with taro bits in the style of boba). One of the best, most unique tastes i've had all year. Meet Fresh stands out in the unique menu it has and the items that you can't get in most other places. What we had was incredible and was such a wonderful mix of flavors and textures. The service was very quick for a busy Friday evening. I'm super eager to go back and experience more things on the menu. Highly recommended for people that like cold desserts but want something other than ice cream. read more
Go in at opening and you can smell the wonderful aroma of freshly brewed black tea! The matcha drink is ok, but the matcha jelly at the bottom of the drink was a pleasant surprise. They have the best traditional milk tea in Chapel Hill and different topping options compared to the other stores in town. The staff is also very friendly and it's always a pleasure going into the store. read more

First off, portions are MASSIVE!!! You can easily share one dessert with 3 or more people. Unfortunately, we didn't know that when we came so we each got our own dessert and struggled to finish it. I love that these desserts all reminded me of my childhood in Singapore. They have so many East Asian desserts that I've never seen in the US before, like grass jelly, taro balls, and purple rice dessert. I ended up getting the Taro Milk Shaved Ice, but they were out of the brown grass jelly, so I substituted it for black grass jelly. The shaved ice was the perfect texture. The taro balls were a whole lot bigger than I'd anticipated - I was expecting the smaller, chewier kind that was in my friend's grass jelly dessert. read more
I love this place as what they offer. Their shaved ice is amazing. My favorite is to almond pudding, mochi (rice cake) and I like to add lychee jelly. It's absolutely essential in hot NC weather for sweets. When my son craves mochi I like to come here and get it for him. Boba teas are really delicious as well. read more
