The portion is huge for the price and is perfect to share with friends! If you request, they will replace the original toppings with other toppings that you want. We love Meet Fresh! We fell in love with Taiwanese-style shaved ice when we were in Taipei years ago and have since had it everywhere we could find it. We were so thrilled when a REAL Taiwanese shaved ice place opened practically in our backyard! This is a real Taiwanese dessert place with locations worldwide, including in Taiwan, so it's authentic. If you have never had Taiwanese shaved ice, this is not like anything you have ever had before. It's not a sno-cone, it's not water ice with Kool Aid poured on it. The texture is light and fluffy and it is more accurate to call it shaved snow. The flavor is IN the "snow," not poured over top. It is amazing!! The staff are very friendly, especially the guy who is usually at the register, and they will explain the menu to you if you have questions. The place is bright and clean. We are so lucky to have such an authentic Taiwanese dessert place in Chapel Hill! read more

Last time I went they were out of boba because they were making them fresh. I was disappointed, but I was also so impressed that they are so dedicated to quality. If you've never been to meet fresh before and you're down to try some Asian Taiwanese dessert, then give it a shot! I'm from San Diego and it tastes exactly the same here. The service is fast, there is plenty of room to chat and it's not super noisy if you want to hold a conversation (1 on 1, small groups, or large groups), and there's a lot of selection on the menu. There's also a lot of boba/bubble tea selection. Don't be overwhelmed choosing what to order. Green milk tea with boba or grass jelly is always good. If you like sweet drinks I recommend brown sugar milk tea with boba. If you're feeling risky, then try one of their specials that they have a promotion for. I would come back here again next time I come to visit UNC. read more

It's a traditional Asian dessert place with what seems like unusual foods to make desserts with like different types of beans. But once you get a general understanding of how it works, you have a variety of options to try. My personal favorite is the "Q Mochi Shaved Ice" (or the summer special shaved ice bowls). The price of almost 10 dollars might seem outrageous BUT its supposed to be shared among 3 people which makes it very reasonable. You will be able to taste a plethora of flavors and textures from the cold ice, sweet condensed milk, the ice cream scoop on top, the sweet pudding on the side and the chewy mochi bars. The Mochi shaved ice is my personal favorite and will make you happy no matter how many times you try it! read more

Just to warn, your sweet taste buds will be excited when going here. Also highly recommend the the pudding Q mochi milk shaved ice is another top favorite. One popular dessert that's not on the list is hot purple rice soup signature. Fair warning, if you enjoy red beans desserts, you should get this dish. If you're not a fan of red bean, get the Boba drinks or the mochi ice cream shaved ice. The staff are friendly. Parking is plenty. Make sure you go through the round about to get to the location. The shaved ice was pretty good, although it was slightly sweeter than what I would have preferred, but who gets shaved ice for it not to be sweet, am I right? Love the flavor of the shaved ice though. Has a good milk tea flavor and the mochi that goes with it is delightfully chewy. Didn't really like the tofu as much because it wasn't soft tofu, but the flavor was good. You also need to return your finished plates to this oriental window, which I thought was kind of cool (since we don't really see much of that around here).
