I've been to Meet Rice in both Richmond and Burnaby multiple times, and it's one of those places where I genuinely can't decide what to order, every soup fits a different mood or season. The portions are huge, easily enough to share between two people. My go-tos are the fish maw soup, the tomato soup base with your choice of protein, and the sauerkraut fish soup. The broths are comforting and well-seasoned, with very generous toppings and tender proteins. Many people mention this too, but I agree, the value here is great for the portion size, and the menu makes it hard to choose just one dish. The meal ends on a fun note with ice cream, and if you're extra hungry, the mantou with condensed milk is a nostalgic, cozy add-on. I am in awe of MeetRice Noodle restaurant's extensive menu and generous serving portions. We tasted their creamy and tasty Fishmaw chicken noodle soup and tomato rice noodles. Soup noodles that Chairman Mao would approve of. As of the time of writing, this is my favourite of the 3 locations in town. Parking is completely insufficient in the strip mall lot. There are too many restaurants and not enough spaces. Park on the side streets instead. Cough. The interior is the nicest of the 3 locations. The mountains along the back wall are pretty cute. I had the spicy noodle soup. Decent portion, and the soup had some heat but wasn't deadly spicy. This place offers unlimited noodle refills. Be sure to load up. The trick is to slowly eat the goodies in the soup while gorging on noodles, and to save a bit of everything until the very end. I also had the salty peppery chicken and deep fried squid. Both were tasty, and comparable to any Taiwanese place. Yes, I know this place technically isn't Taiwanese food. This place also uses the crazy long long menu like the Burnaby (Royal Oak) location, but serves the noodles in square plastic bowls (non disposable) like the Vancouver (Main) location. This place is very popular to order on Uber eat and other food delivery company. I've had a chance to sit inside and taste the food in the restaurant. The restaurant is very clean and is set up for social distance. Their menu is very intense, listed all kind of noodles and the extra you can order from. I wasn't feeling adventurous, so I ordered their signature cross bridge noodle with beef, and extra fish slices. The broth seemed to be boiled for a long time with a creamy color, and there were lots of ingredient in the broth. I found fish tofu, beef, quail egg, black fungus, imitation crab, and spam. There were very little veggies in the broth which I wish to have more. Another thing I found is the broth is very salty. It could be just me who don't put a lot of salt in my daily cooking. However, I don't feel thirsty after drinking the broth, which means there's no MSG in the soup. Their service was very good since I was the only customer inside. Their waiter kept checking on me to refill water etc. maybe next time I'll try something different. read more

We have had some of the best soups at this wonderful establishment! My favourites are the lamb soup, the tomato soup, and the golden chicken soup. The servings are generous and the flavour is deep. They also have wonderful service for both their dine in and takeout. We keep coming back here because they have so many varieties of soups to try. Came here with a couple of friends just before it closes This is a chain restaurant, but it seems like each location is quite different. Some had more of a classy vibe, and food come in box trays where toppings are separated, and this one doesn't. This one has a pink panther theme, a bit odd but I don't mind it. Parking in this plaza was quite brutal. Most of the parking spaces are reserved for other shops there. We ordered some f the staple noodles there, the broths are all quite nice, flavorful and didn't taste like msg. although the noodles are still abit hard. 15-16 bucks for just the noodle is okay, but if you start to add abit if extra meat or topings, it quickly turn into a $25-30 bowl of noodle which is just hard to justify. Service was really quite slow cause there's only one person working, but he apologized for that when we were leaving. So it's good that they acknowledged it. This is my first Yelp review. I had to write it because of my recent positive experience at this restaurant. I came here with my mother, a 90-year-old. We wanted a hearty bowl of hot soup and some quality mother-and-son time. And that's exactly what we enjoyed and some more. The servers and owner were super hospitable. We ordered takeout through Uber eats and I could order a peach oolong cloud foam tea, a classic tomato broth noodle, and mantou with condensed milk all to go. We used to go to the one on Main almost once a week. As that one closed down, we started coming to the one in Richmond. This is one of my favourite noodle spots in town, but THE SERVICE AT RICHMOND IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. We went twice in the past week (we thought the second time would have better service with different people), and both times were seriously awful. We're not picky at all and we were easy and simple customers. But the three different waitresses threw our food down on the table (for every dish), stared us down as we asked for more water, and when we asked them questions like "excuse me, can we have some more napkins" they just straight up scoffed and ignored us. I was visiting Vancouver this last weekend and happened to find this noodle shop. It was a new experience for me trying this kind of Chinese food. I ordered the mushroom broth noodle soup with beef. The broth was very good, both savory and hearty, the mushroom flavor was on point. The presentation of the complimentary toppings was really interesting. The noodles were cooked perfectly and finished the dish. Service was excellent and the staff was extremely attentive. When I visit Vancouver in the future I'll definitely stop by again. read more

Came here with some friends and my bf on a Saturday night during the long family weekend. Place was quite cute with the clouds hanging from the ceiling and the pink panthers everywhere with the exception of the picture on the side of the wall. It didn't really fit the theme of the place. We got the chicken gizzards and fried chicken nuggets for our appetizer. The chicken gizzards weren't bad but they were sliced too thinly which we didn't like (3.5/5). The fried chicken nuggets were crispy, tender and seasoned properly but there was just a bit too much batter to chicken ratio to my liking (3.5/5). For our main, we all had the beef noodle soup bowl. It was very cool how they present their dishes. First, they would bring you a big tray of all sorts of small raw ingredients that are included in your meal, then they would bring you your soup bowl that had sliced beef in it and lastly, they would bring you a bowl of noodles. It is an experience where you can create your own noodle bowl by adding whatever ingredients you want into your bowl. They also have a sauce and topping station where you can add more flavor to your soup. I only got the green onions, cilantro and sriracha because the soup already had flavor. When you eat it as a whole, everything paired really nicely together and the soup had so much flavor. It was also piping hot so it is very good on a super cold day. Overall, service was great and the food came out very quickly. I wouldn't mind coming back here again if I wanted something quick to eat and if everywhere else is too busy but it wouldn't be on my top list to go to.
