Overall our experience was good, but I don't think I would use them again. A little background: It was a super hot day, and I felt bad for the movers. They didn't seem to have water or proper PPE for the weather. The positive: Movers were on time and ready to work! Items were moved carefully, but they probably could have used a third worker based on the items we had. I feel I was transparent with how much items we had including heavy items. The negative: Two movers were not enough based on the items we had including heavy items. The move took much longer than expected. Movers seemed really irritated the whole time, which I can't tell if it was from the heat or we did something wrong. Movers also left garbage behind and we had to clean up after. Usually the moving company will follow up after to see how things went, but we never heard from Nancy. Nancy also said she would come to check in during the move, but never did. We paid, and it was done. I think overall, it was a fine experience, but not to the level of other moving companies I've worked with before. The rate was also good based on other replies I received. What astounded me the most was the workers. They were SUPER fast packing, bringing the stuff to the truck, and unpacking. They didn't speak English and used a translator on the phone, but they were actually pretty good with reading the words in the box, such as master, living room, garage, etc. They had runners or whatever they're called on the stairs so they wouldn't damage the stairs. I moved with All Star Moving again recently, going both to a storage unit and apartment. They secured everything with plastic wrap, blankets and cables in the van so all my items felt secure and taken care of. They finished the move in about 2 hours and did a great job. Hopefully I don't have to move again anytime soon but will always turn to them to help when I do! Note: if you are in an apartment building, try to find out the car clearance in your garage and let them know. some of their trucks are really tall so may not be able to fit.

Jacob came to our house with a clipboard, saw and noted everything to be moved, He gave us a price of $11,000 to move us to Nebraska. Most other quotes were in the $16,000 range. So far, so good. They showed up at the promised time with a truck too small to get everything. I said to my parter "the truck is too small." About an hour into the process, Jacob advised to to start figuring out what to prioritize and what to leave behind as the truck was too small. Several hours later Jacob said it was "partially" his fault. Yes, he said partially, avoiding full blame since it was part of his scheme. For an additional FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS he would get another truck for us. (And now the cost is up to $16,000. We were in no position other than to agree. This is the game most movers play to extort more money from you. Cut to: We had air tags in some of the boxes on both trucks. With that information in addition to talking to the movers when they arrived, we learned they stopped in Treasure Island and Citrus Heights to take everything out of both trucks and put everything of ours into a huge semi with three other families. Many items and boxes DID NOT get delivered and some glass items were broken. Please see the attached photo to get an idea of how they packed our expensive electric bikes. That alone should scare you away, We contacted Jacob but he ignored is. We called him. So far, several days later, he continues to refuse to take ANY accountability as we have not heard back from him. I do not in any way recommend this company. We are considering legal action.

Packing I was unable to pack everything myself so they stepped in to help. They brought boxes and wrapping materials and carefully packed everything. I was concerned about my TV since it was a long ride to SF but they seemed very experienced and was able to get it safely to the destination. Unloading I appreciate that they ask me which room they want certain things in instead of just dumping everything in one room for me to have to move it again afterwards. They put my office things in the office and kitchen boxes in the kitchen etc... They also helped me install my TV on the wall to make my life easier! Couldnt recommend them enough!

The move was completed in a little under 4 hours from SF to Oakland. I paid the hourly rate + gas fee and decided to pay them the rounded up hourly rate as the tip. They kept pushing against that in person and also called me 5 minutes later to say I hadn't tipped enough and there was a minimum. This was not stated before hand and is also not listed anywhere on their yelp page or website. I have never experienced this before and considering their rates are high I was very frustrated with this customer service. My home was also left messy. Pieces of plastic and bits of debris were left on the floor and the plastic wrap used to protect items was not removed at my new home. Adding to hours of extra work. The tip harassment really pushed me over the edge. I wouldn't hire them again, which is unfortunate because their thoroughness in other areas was appreciated. I've recommended many friends to my old movers but they don't service this area. Customer service like this means no repeat business and no recommendation which is much more financial loss over time compared to a slightly higher tip. Maybe think about the outcome before you call your customers asking for more?
