These guys rock! In the past 6 months ive had to replace my gas water heater and over the range microwave. Both purchases were through Lowes (with installation) and both times Lowes had Mega Plumbing do the install. Water heater was much more involved but the guy came on a Saturday around noon (at my request) and had the whole thing done in about 2hrs. It took three separate home visits, multiple instances of unprofessional conduct, and an attempt at fraudulent billing before my double oven was finally installed correctly. I am demanding Lowe's review its partnership with this contractor. First Appointment: The installers arrived early, removed my old double oven, and placed the new double oven into the wall opening. They pushed it back as far as it could go and abruptly stopped the installation, claiming they could not secure the unit because the opening was one inch too large and they could not attach it to a brick wall. During this time, I overheard an installer promising a future client they would arrive in ten minutes. It was clear they rushed and abandoned the job due to a lack of competence and a desire to rush to their next appointment. I contacted Lowe's Customer Service to demand a refund, but was instructed to allow the company a chance to correct the issue. Second Appointment: I explicitly requested that the original installers not be sent back. This request was ignored; one of the original workers returned. The crew spent twenty minutes wiggling the oven before putting their supervisor on the phone with me. The supervisor falsely claimed that my ice maker water line was blocking the oven and stated it would cost $250 to relocate it. When I questioned this--as the new oven shares the exact same depth dimensions as my previous unit--he evaded the question with double talk. Desperate to resolve a lingering safety hazard, I reluctantly agreed to schedule a third visit. Third Appointment: A two-man crew arrived, which included yet another member of the original team alongside a new technician. The new technician quickly assessed the situation, removed the oven doors (a basic step the previous crews failed to do), and immediately identified how to secure the unit. They used a single shim to balance the oven and screwed it into the wall. The ice maker line did not need to be moved. The entire correct installation took less than 15 minutes. On the following Monday, I received an invoice for $250 claiming charges for "parts" and an "ice maker line relocation"--a service that was never performed. Furthermore, the "parts" consisted of a single 50-cent shim and the factory screws that belonged to my oven in the first place (which the first crew had wrongfully taken with them). When I contacted customer service to dispute these fraudulent charges and report the dishonesty of the technicians, the representative told me to "disregard the invoice" because they did not have all the facts. I requested an updated, itemized invoice sent via email showing a $0.00 balance for my records. I will not leave this account open based on a verbal instruction to "disregard" it based upon the lack of honesty I have experienced with Mega Plumbing so far. Mega Plumbing demonstrated a pattern of deceptive business practices, technical incompetence, and fraudulent billing. A quick review of their growing number of negative public complaints mirrors my experience. The Lowes we often use apparently contracts with Mega Plumbing for appliance installations. The installation went smoothly and quickly. They took away the old microwave. Very satisfied with their work. They picked up the microwave from Lowes. They well handled the communications with us to coordinate the delivery and installation. The fellows draped the range to protect it during their work. We appreciate that care, especially with a fast installation. No corners cut. So, for Lowes appliance installations, I recommend this business. Yes, you may pay a bit extra to Lowes for the purchase, installation, and the removal of the old appliance, but it may worth the cost. read more

Contracted by Lowes for a simple gas dryer change out. Due to my schedule, I requested a date 2 weeks out. Didn't request a rush rush same day/next day situation. Took the day off to be home, yada yada yada. Window of 8-12am install came and went, got a call at 1230 of apologies that they were running late and installer was 'in the neighborhood' and would be arriving soon. Still did not show at 4pm. I called the office to cancel install for the day as I had things to do. I requested to callback next day to schedule re-install after checking in with work. Called next day - whole order cancelled, returned to the store and now I have to purchase a new one. So sorry Lowes uses this substandard contractor. Had a simple toilet installation via their work with Lowe's. Day of the toilet would slowly drain all the way and was backing up. They came back and said it's a plumbing issue not the toilet. Previous toilet was perfectly fine and never had issues with the plumbing line in this powder room. A competent plumber inspected and discovered they improperly installed wax ring and half of it was in the drain line causing the backup. Had to pay to have it completely removed and reinstalled. This is for the installation of a gas cooktop and a GE Cafe double oven that was purchased at Lowe's. The two gentlemen who came to perform the work were great and very knowledgeable. They went to pick up our appliances even though we had indicated that the appliances were onsite. Recommend that your bot or application interface with something which relays such information to the workers so they can better optimize their time. We had paid for complete installation with Lowe's, but I received a call from Mega stating that additional costs would be assessed onsite. Why were we charged $90 when we paid a lot of money for the installation?! This was disappointing and makes me question why I would utilize these services. Workers did great though otherwise, but when we pay for an installation - it should be all inclusive with the understanding that to do so - the customer should have had all necessary plumbing/electrical/gas lines and services run and in a ready-to-go status for the installers. If you are not getting enough money for your services, then it is important for you to renegotiate your contract with the big box store - not the customer. Contracted installation by Mega Plumbing via Lowe's purchase (already pre-paid) for faucet installation. They cracked my porcelain sink then brought me in to point out that my sink now has a crack but didn't own it. It wasn't cracked an hour before they started but it was cracked 5 minutes after they finished installation but it must be a mystery how happened. Scheduled a toilet installation through Lowes. The Toto toilet ordered was a 12-in rough-in but the home rough-in measurement was 11-in. I also had a 10-in Toto unifit rough-in ordered. The plumbers who came to install were incompetent and didn't know how to install the 10-in rough-in. Looking at the manufacturer's instructions, it seems like a pretty simple installation where you use the 10-in part instead of the standard 12-in part. Jack and his assistant arrived on time, very polite, professional and they were most friendly. We Ordered vanity from Lowe's. Items were picked up from the store and installed within an hour of scheduled. We forgot to buy the faucet, the installer let us know upon arrival so we could run out and buy one. Technician was supposed to be here between 10 and 1. I rearranged my schedule to accommodate this, and ended up missing a cardiac rehab session anyway. Did not arrive until after 2:30. I received no call from them, so when no one had arrived by 1:05, I called them. I waited on hold for 12 minutes while they tried to reach tech, which they couldn't. A few minutes after I finished this call, the technician called (at 1:22) to say he was 30 minutes away. His reason for not contacting me was that he had "truck issues" and was "not with" his phone. Sounded a bit thin to me. Rang doorbell at 2:33. I asked about what the problem was with his truck and he gave me some vague bullshit about the battery. "I had to go to my mechanic and get a boost." So, you got your battery replaced? "No." Installation of microwave appears to be satisfactory. If this turns out not to be the case, I will come edit this review to take one of the two stars away. read more

I typically shy away from writing bad reviews because I understand sometimes the experience could just be the wrong person on the wrong day. But, today changed my mind. In 2020, Mega plumbing installed a hot water heater and had me sign for the work and left while i went to inspect the work. The water heater was damaged (badly dented). I requested that they replace it and was told there was nothing wrong with it except for a few dents. I pushed back and eventually got a new water heater without any damage. Fast forward to this morning. I called back because the expansion tank attached to the hot water heater had a pinhole leak. I left a message at 730am and then called back after 8 (when they opened). I was transferred to direct services and spoke to Jimmy. At that time, Jimmy question if I was sure they did my installation, and then ended up finding my account based on my phone number. Shortly after he stated he could have someone come out tomorrow. I asked him if her heard what my issue was and that there was a leak. He said your sink right? I repeated, no...this is for the hot water heater Mega plumbing installed. He then repeated he could have someone come out tomorrow (a full 24 hours from the time of the call). I explained there was an emergency and had to request an appointment in the event of a cancellation. I ended up contacting another plumber who was able to come out within hours. After I was able to get the expansion tank replaced, I called back to cancel the appointment. Joyce was initially pleasant, but when i asked to cancel, she asked if the issue was resolved. I stated that this was no longer a concern for Mega plumbing I just wanted to cancel, at which time she hung up. I called back to get her name and reminder her...as stated by the company phone system stated, this was a recorded line. Their customer service is subpar. My initial experience wasn't just the wrong person on the wrong day. Their customer service is just not good. I suggest finding ANY other plumber. Be mindful...they were the contracted plumbers that were sent by Lowe's. Hope this helps someone out there. Take care. read more

It was a good thing. Took old mic out. Immediately put new one in. Said ok, complete. I touched it, extremely loose. I said no, it's loose. He took it out. He installed right back in again. Said ok it's completed, started showing me how it works. I touched it again. STILL loose. I had started to lose faith in capabilities. He took it out a second time. Had to readjust the installation frame this time. Drill new hole to be in position. Then it was finally in tight. They say someone over 18 has to be there. No I have to be there. If I hadn't been there and let an 18-year-old make the decision I would have been livid. Especially when this guy only lives in the area a few days a week but actually is from Virginia. After the installation a major leak problem developed with the water supply line valve. The team led by Elton returned a day later to fix the problem free of charge. I know for a fact that it is 7 years old and in perfect working order. They also wanted to replace the water connections and were immediately ready with a price. Never again. Ordered a $150 kitchen faucet ($311 total with installation) from Lowe's - fine. The guys arrived at 5:30pm (in the 3-6 window) and commented on their long day. As soon as I heard "excuse me ma'am...." I knew the bill was going up. He showed me a video of the plumbing under the sink leaking and said he could replace the valve for an additional $390. It wasn't leaking before - I just had my plumber remove the garbage disposal, and trust me if he could've done any extra work, he would've let me know about old plumbing or leaking. Also my dad was under there inspecting it a few days before and said everything was fine. So I suspect the tech loosened something. The whole valve replacement and faucet install took less than 90 minutes and they couldn't get out of there any faster. I went to use the tap and realized they installed it completely wrong. The entire unit was installed 90 degrees off to the left so the tap was over the sink, not on the right hand side of the faucet. Consequently, the faucet would only swivel to one side of the sink and not the other side, because it was set to swivel to 90 past the back side of the sink. I wish I had taken a photo or video but I was running down the driveway after their van leaving trying to flag them down. I got them back in the house and tried to explain that it wasn't installed correctly. I asked them if it would be a pain to fix and they said yes. But I made them fix it anyway. There was a picture of how it was supposed to look on the box, and the box even came with installation instructions. These guys acted like they had never installed a faucet before. This was a basic job that I thought would just be easier to pay Lowe's to do the install since they hire "professionals." Next time I'll just do it myself. read more

The 2 installers were polite and friendly however they went ahead and installed a natural gas dryer to our propane hook up without a conversion kit. It was Lowes fault for selling us a Natural gas dryer, but I feel that Mega Plumbing should have read the paperwork and known that you can't do this. The result was my dryer catching fire! ANOTHER FULL DAY, NO OUTREACH FROM MEGA'S INSURANCE COMPANY! I RECOMMEND YOU RUN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! NO! You know me, U have my phone number! U don't need more details than what I submitted below. YOU MAKE YOUR INSURANCE CALL ME TO REPAIR THE DAMGE MEGA PLUMBING DID TO OUR HOME! MY NEXT STEP IS TO GO AFTER YOUR LOCENSE AT DPOR! Less than one star experience that is ongoing after 3 weeks!! Working for Lowes, Mega Plumbing (MP) staff broke the shutoff valve while attempting to replace out dishwasher. THIS AFTER I asked their plumber if they wanted the water turned off. MP's staff said, "No need." Maybe 10 minutes later, their staff is hollering in my house after the other guy ran through the front door! This happened on June 17, today is July 6. I was in a meeting upstairs and arrived in the kitchen tonsee a sad sight of a guy trying to hold his hand over what was a broken water line! We had water across the kitchen floor and down to the basement ceiling threatening an in-home business equipment and other recreational equipment. MP filed our claim with one company. After a hour call from their insurance company a week later, that adjuster wrote me an email that Mega Plumbing withdrew the claim for my property damage and filed with another company named Concert. Concert has not returned my calls. When I call Lowes, Matt Lee and Jay Lee are, now, never in the office. I've called Mega at least three times and Lowes at least 6 times! Still, no insurance company outreach. We endured a horror of fans and de-humidifiers from that Tuesday evening through Monday when the water restoration company that MP sent removed their final machines and tore out the damaged solid wood flooring and the basement ceiling that their plumber's break ruined. Today, still no contact from MP's insurance company despite promises from MP's Matt Lee and Jay Lee. BTW, we have no invoice from their water restoration company. This becomes germane later in my note below when I speculate that Mega Plumbing is trying to out wait mynpatience. MP could be hoping I'll fix the floor and go away and then MP has only pay the water remediation folks and avoid filing a real insurance claim. And, know that Lowes is taking a hands off approach until Lowes hears that MP is not going to make things right. So, after not being able to use our kitchen for 6 days, we still have a torn up kitchen. We also had fans and heating dehumidifier running 24/7 over 6 days when outside temps were 98 to 102+ degrees! So, our home A/C ran 24/7 for 6 days! And, be aware, these machines make a horrific noise! So, we lost the use of the main living floor in our house for that entire time! We could not use our kitchen and we were forced out of our house due to the noise and excess heat generated by the drying equipment! My opinion is that you should avoid using Mega Plumbing for any work! Their act to file with one insurance company and then attempt to deflect to another makes me think, sets up the thought, that they are being deliberately deceptive and/or maybe delaying. Why would they do that? One thought is that they have a lot of claims and they are, maybe, struggling to maintain their insurance and/or trying to avoid an increase in insurance premi9ums due to their work possibly causing problems elsewhere. It has been about 4 days since i learned of their switch to a different insurance company. (Is this a bait and switch? I don't know!) Lowes is also to blame for not insisting that THEIR contractor make things right quickly. 3 weeks later and MP is trolling me along in what appears to be an attempt to avoid responsibility and out wait my patience. If you are considering plumbing work, I recommend that you consider whether you want to risk having to endure my nightmare. Just my experience supporting my opinion. I will run from anything having to do with MP in the future. If you buy a plumbed product from Lowes, maybe you want to ask if MP is getting the work. My opinion is, "run from Mega Plumbing! They told me they would call when they were 30 minutes out, I missed there call, but I called back 6 minutes and could not get the delivery guy to answer. We ordered a microwave and dishwasher from Lowes and installation was done by this company. The technician left the area a mess with sawdust, under the sink and in the cabinet next to the dishwasher were puddled with water, and the hose that connects to the dishwasher was immediately leaking. He also ran the dishwasher with all the stickers and plastic coverings still on the racks inside, but luckily I stopped the cycle before it heated up. There are two ways to get to our kitchen, both with plenty of room, but the technician decided to go through our dining room over the rug with his wet/muddy shoes instead of the other way on the hardwood. All of this while he saw I was home alone with a screaming newborn. I called to complain and the technician came back and said the leak was a faulty hose. Lowes is sending us a replacement dishwasher and hose to be installed but that won't come for a while. So now we're without a dishwasher for 2 weeks. We haven't used the dishwasher but noticed a foul smell coming from underneath our sink over a week later. The whole area was flooded, along with the cabinet next to the dishwasher. What was going down the sink drain was leaking from the hose and flooding our cabinets. The wood is severely water damaged and now we're worried about mold. My husband tried to figure out a temporary remedy until our new dishwasher comes and while doing that noticed the technician installed the hose completely wrong in the first place. This has been a total disaster and the company has taken no accountability. I pray a competent technician comes to install our replacement dishwasher and the company remediates the water damage done to our kitchen. read more

We ordered a washer and dryer through LOWES and Lowes decided they are going to work with Mega Plumbing but have zero communication with them, so it's up to the customer. Yesterday, I was on the phone with them for about 4 hours off and on. It was awful. It started with a text at 9:30AM saying they were on their way over. That changed to 1-4pm, which changed to 1:30-4:30pm, which changed to 5:30pm which is when I was over it and I made them put other customers on hold (rather than them a priority and us keep getting shifted back). But it didn't matter because they ended up showing up at 5:40pm and the guy said they dont' handle the pedestal for the washer. Now I've been dealing with them AND lowes all day today to try to find out what is going on??? Of course, Lowes has gone ghost on me (I've already escalated my issues to Corporate). We were the last job of the day and it was quite late by now so we assumed we would have to wait for a new install date. However, they gave us the option of doing now if we didn't mind them working late. These are some hard working young men! They were in and out of our crawl space several times and that's a nightmare in itself. They finished around 10:00, took the time to show me the basic operation of the unit and left. We recently purchased an oven + range from Samsung and were so pleased by Mega Plumbing's service to install it. It was a man + woman team - dang that woman is strong! They carried the oven up my townhouse stairs and into the kitchen. You could tell they had done an oven installation a thousand or more times from how quick they were. Mega Plumbing installed our dishwasher; their services were purchased through Lowe's. In the 12 years I've lived in the DMV, this is by far the best experience I've had with a plumber. Pros: I was able to choose to communicate via text or phone, they were able to schedule for my preferred day, they were running early so texted to see if I wanted to keep my time or have the install early. They were very friendly. They uninstalled our old dishwasher and installed our new dishwasher very quickly. Our floors are a little wonky and they took the time to level it carefully. It was a perfect install! They had to drill a new hole to get things up to code, which they didn't charge extra for and talked to us about ahead of time. They had plans in place to protect our flooring, including carrying both dishwashers in/out. We will definitely use them again!!! I bought a new gas range with Lowes and well, as much as I wanted to watch a youtube video on installing it yourself, I said to myself "let's not blow up the condo" and resigned to paying for installation, which was contracted out through Mega Plumbing. They did arrive during the window of time which was quoted. I think what makes me want to give them 5 stars over 4 is how the installers did go above and beyond. They gave me time to clean under my old range (it was horrid, thanks previous owners) AND THEY PATCHED A SMALL HOLE IN MY WALL BEHIND THE RANGE. I wasn't about to leave that open in case it was made by some critters and was perfectly fine patching it myself... but they said "we'll help you out with that" and patched it up for me, which I thought was super nice of them. We bought a dishwasher and the retailer assigned Mega Plumbing to install it. I could not have been happier. The technician, Angel, was very efficient, finishing the job very quickly. Absolutely do NOT use this company! We were forced to hire them through Lowes to install our microwave, and they were a nightmare. We ended up not using them at all because of the horrible experience we had with them on the phone. First at foremost, they were scheduled to come between 3-6 PM on a Friday. We got a text after 8 PM Thursday saying that the time was moved to between 12-3 PM the next day. It is worth noting that this text came through after their business hours, meaning there was no way we could call them and tell them that they needed to honor the time we agreed upon originally. When we spoke to them the next day, they were eventually able to honor our original time slot. I want to make clear that we are working with Lowes to not only address the issues on their end but also to encourage them to revisit their contract with this company. For anyone who has worked with them through Lowes and had a similar horrible experience, I encourage you to do the same. The next day, we discovered that Lowes did not deliver the microwave with the rest of our order. We called Lowes in Laurel (even though we live in Gaithersburg) and discovered the microwave was still there. Mega Plumbing Corp agrees to pick it up for us, and we were extremely grateful. A little while later, I get a call from Mega Plumbing Corp, and I'm told that the microwave isn't there, and it won't arrive until tomorrow. Furious, I call Lowes, and they assure me that not only is my microwave there, but there are 5 people all standing there looking at it. It even has my name on the side so no one else can try to take it. They say they'll look into why the incorrect information was given out, and that from now on, any inquiries about the microwave should go directly to A, who is the distribution/pickup manager. I call Mega Plumbing Corp back and I speak to Jay. I will be the first to admit that I was not the best version of me for parts of this phone call, and I do apologize for that. Jay's customer service was TERRIBLE. I worked in customer service, my brother has had managerial positions at 4 different companies over the years, I am very much aware that the customer is not always right. Jay absolutely refused to listen to me. I told them that they were given the wrong information, and that the microwave was there waiting for them to pick it up. All he had to do was call and speak to A directly (they spoke to someone else not even in pickup/distribution previously). Jay outright refused. I told him that I had done his job for him by confirming that the microwave was there. I also told him that I was aware they were given incorrect information, but all it would take was a 3 minute phone call to get everything back on track. He continued to refuse and implied that I was lying to him. Why would I lie? What do I get out of this? At this point, I had been dealing with this issue for over 3 hours, and while there were mistakes on both ends (Lowes and Mega Plumbing Corp), only one company admitted their mistakes and dealt with this issue with professionalism. Finally, Jay calls Lowes and speaks to A. He doesn't come back and apologize, he simply says they'll be there between 3-6 PM. I ask what he's going to do to make this right since his behavior and customer service has been so abysmal. He says, "We're going to install your microwave." To which I replied, "And I'm not paying for that installation." Jay's exact words, I'll never forget them, were, "Yeah, that's NOT happening." There was absolutely ZERO apology or attempt to make their mistakes right. I pointed out to Jay that they have a 3.2 star rating on Yelp with TONS of complaints coming from Lowes customers. I asked for his name and told him I would name him personally in my review. He didn't care at all. After all this treatment and the reviews on Yelp that talk about unprofessionalism, overcharging and property damage, my husband and I decided to cancel the installation as a whole. We don't want to associate with a company that treats its customers like garbage, which is exactly what happened here. Some compassion and a simple apology would have gone a lot way. It is my personal belief that Mega Plumbing Corp doesn't care about their customers. They have a steady stream of customers coming from Lowes, so it doesn't matter how they treat them because they're guaranteed to get more. I am of the personal belief that unless their contract with Lowes is cancelled, this unprofessional and rude behavior will simply continue. I have expressed all of this to Lowes in a phone call and plan to do so in an email as well because it is causing them to lose customers because Mega Plumbing Corp doesn't know how to act. read more
