Mei Wei has been consistent. Every time we go there the food is prepared well, the service is good and the atmosphere is pleasant. I've become fond of numerous entrees on the menu but I can't tell you all of them if my release from captivity depends on it! The Chinatown Stirfry, Happy Family and Szechuan Beef definitely come to mind. I absolutely love their Shrimp Spring Rolls and Peanut Sauce too. I love Mei Wei!!!! I eat here at least once a week, the orange chicken is amazing. Good texture and has orange peels in the sauce along with peppers! They got me hooked on hot and sour soup, the Thai tea in a can is AWESOME, and their cream cheese puffs are so delicious. I wish I could give 10 stars. It's as good when they deliver as it is when you dine in. They made me dislike other Chinese food places, mei wei is the only way to go in the woodlands!!!!! :) read more

Szechuan Spicy Shrimp General Chicken Hot and Sour Soup Quality steamed rice BBQ Pork Appetizer is delicious, but quite fatty Crab Puffs were buffet quality Shrimp toast was just shrimp wrapped and fried in an egg roll wrapper. Great neighborhood Chinese place. My husband and I have been going here for years. The food is always consistent and fresh tasting (my husband should know he has been getting the same thing for at least 5 years lol). I, however, have branched out and some of the items are hit and miss. Most entrees are good, so is the soup but I've never been overly impressed with any of the appetizers. I've enjoyed mei wei for years, both as take out and eat in. Tonight, my tea was served cold, I received a different soup than ordered, and my eggplant dish (which had never come with green peppers, which I hate , before) had more green peppers than eggplant. My dining companion's Mongolian beef was fine. I tried to express my frustration at the desk as someone who had happily eaten here for years, and was told "sorry". I guess it's going downhill and the management no longer cares if you get what is ordered, which makes me sad. There are two new places locally; will try those :( read more

This is the nearest place to me that has decent Chinese food. I drive past two other closer restaurants to get to this restaurant. I've only had them for takeout but the restaurant is always clean and quiet when I walk in. They're also very quick to fill my order every time. I place my order on the Yelp app and drive 15 minutes and it's always ready to go when I walk inside. The staff is very polite. This particular visit I was not impressed with the steamed dumplings because they were somehow rubbery and tough at 11:45 am. This is not my normal experience with their dumplings in the past, though, so I won't let this prevent me from returning. The chicken Pad Thai was tasty and had just a tiny bit of heat. read more

I ordered take out from Mei Wei today. It was ready on time, the restaurant seemed cleaned and the staff was very friendly. I ordered Shrimp Tempura, Pot Stickers, and the Beef Lo Mien. The Beef Lo Mien was decent, exactly what you would expect from the only Chinese restaurant in the area, no competition leads to complacency. The Pot Stickers were lack luster, very dense and unappetizing. The reason they received 1 star was the Shrimp Tempura. It tasted good and I enjoyed two before I realized the disgusting issue. They did not devein the shrimp. If you are unaware of what that means, it means they failed to remove the poop sack from the shrimp. After eating the second one I noticed a dark area on the tail and then I removed the tempura from another and sure enough the whole vein was still there. read more

I was taken here twice while visiting my parents over Christmas break. That is fairly unusual for them. First off, they're cheap. Their lunch menu is about $6 a person and includes rice and a soup/eggroll. Their food is really fast, delicious, and plentiful. We get our food before finishing our soup! Whenever I order Chinese anywhere, I normally order Chicken and Broccoli. Their version is meh, but their General Tso more than makes up for it! (I ordered that the second time). It is surprisingly spicy. LOVE IT. My 5 year old sister and Mei Wei have a mutual relationship. She loves their soup, they love her. They love my little sister so much that they sometimes send my parents home with free to-go soup when she's not there. Even their magnets are high class. Perfect for a work lunch or dinner. No cheesy instrumental remakes of 90s hits. They do have the TV on CNN at lunch, but quiet enough where it's not a disturbance. A lovely hidden gem. read more

We've been craving Chinese food a lot lately. We've tried 3 places now and we were pleasantly surprised with Mei Wei. We went based on the reviews. The General Tsos chicken was super good. I tried their Wonton soup and I wasn't impressed. It was very watery. I'll still come back because I think the generals chicken was the best from the other 3 places we've tasted. If I built a perfect meal I would say Mei Wei's General Tsos chicken, Fried Rice from China Bridge and the Wonton Soup from Mikados. I know that's random but seriously try it. LOL read more

We usually have had decent luck with Mei Wei but not tonite. Got take out and that was on time and hot. Got it home and the food was just not as we remember. The General Tso was all spice and no other flavor, the pepper steak seemed to be old beef and we decided to not eat it as it did not taste fresh or correct to us, the sweet and sour pork was bland and the batter was undercooked, soggy and flavorless and the pork was tough. Just not a great experience for us. We were not fully happy with our last TOGO order from them but decided to give them another chance as everyone can have a bad night. I just ordered delivery from here and the food was AMAZING! My husband and I ordered what we thought would be a decent amount of food for the both of us and we were pleasantly surprised at how big the portion sizes are (we have lunch and dinner for tomorrow now!)! The vegetable lo mein is perfect--it's not loaded with garlic or dripping in oil like other places. We also had chicken fried rice, broccoli beef, and General Tsao chicken (big pieces of white meat and not that ground mush other places use) and they were all delicious. There is nothing scarier to me than ordering from a new Chinese place - and one that advertises Chinese, Japanese, and Thai is even scarier. Thankfully when we ordered from Mei Wei we had a great meal and have now found our local go-to spot to satisfy those Chinese cravings. My husband had his favorite general tso's chicken and it was really good. I had Chicken Pad Thai which wasn't the best pad Thai I've ever had but it was ok. We also had the fried cheese wontons-so good! I'm anxious to try some of the other dishes...probably best to stick with Chinese, but the massaman beef and Panang curry have me interested! read more

Being Asian from San Francisco, I am very picky when comes to asian food. Overall it is good and I get take out from there. we usually get Mongolian Beef, Kung Pao Chicken, Egg Drop Soup, and Lo Mein noodles. Occasionally we get green beans, too. All are made well with primarily meat (how chinese food should be prepared) and fresh. the establishment seems to be a Chinese owned family business which I like. Didn't see some of my favorite Hong Kong or cantonese dishes like Honey Walnut Prawns. They have walnut shrimp so I will need to try that next time. read more
