Coming from a Chinese American person growing up eating Chinese food, this place is decently acceptable for the area (limited selections). If you stick to the mainstream dishes, probably safe bet. But my favorite dish - the shrimp with veggies is a hit or miss. Sometimes it's fine and sometimes you have bad shrimp- shrimp that you can taste is not fresh and might have started to go bad. The beef and chicken dishes are usually safe. If you have problems with blood pressure, don't recommend this place as dishes tend to be salty even when you ask for low salt. read more

This is by far our favorite Chinese take out/eat out place in the Hood. The portions are generous, each dish has its own flavor and taste. Look into the traditional Chinese menu for some variety. We always get the teriyaki chicken (kids LOVE this- not overly sauced), shredded pork with green beans, gingered fish, and steamed shrimp with broccoli. I have been coming here for years. I usually get the General Tsos chicken which has a great thick spicy sauce. I also love the Hot and Sour Soup which says alot for me because I hate soups. They are extremely fast especially when ordering take out. I have learned to leave right when I hang up the phone because it will be done when you get there to pick it up. My wife and I just moved to the area, and we found them while on a grocery run. I ordered the Curry chicken with Noodles and an Egg roll. Delivery was quick and courteous, the Egg roll was exceptional with fresh veggies, and the Curry Chicken was both creamy and packed a nice amount of heat. By far the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. We are not usually in that area , stuck in traffic thanks to shut down on freeway at 5pm ! So I relied on my fellow yelpers to lead us to a good local place. Look at the bad reviews on this one because they are all correct !! Bland food sweet and sour chicken was all batter no chicken. My hibachi beef was terrible and I'm not sure what type of beef that was it did not taste right. Even the hot tea was terrible. We go there for the hot and sour soup and pan fried dumplings. The soup is the best I've ever had. All the other dishes that we've had are very good, and of decent size. Growing Up eating New York Chinese take out, this by far had to be the best pork fried rice! It's tasty. Other I've tasted is bland, almost not salt or anything.. I've went to this place for 5 years and tried my best to look past mishap after mishap because I love Chinese food. Items have been missing from delivery, sauces spilled in delivery bag and orders wrong completely. First couple of times they had decent customer service, but now that they are under new management it's even worse. They will not give any type of compensation if THEY mess up your order or cause you any inconvenience. EVERYTHING is an extra charge and often if you go inside they are sitting down eating in between taking your order and receiving it. I've spent too much money there to receive no customer service whatsoever and they would rather lose your business completely instead of making their customers happy. Maybe they think people just complain for no reason, but clearly I am not the only one who feels this way. It's sad when businesses take the service out and only care about money and telling you what they aren't going to do like you are trying to get over on them. No wonder it has been empty every time I've tried to pop in for the last year. Please close up shop, service is last on their list. I won't bother them anymore for sure!! read more

My wife and I have ate here many times. It has become our favorite place to eat in our neighborhood. We are here at least twice a month. And I'm only home one week out of the month, being away the other three for work. Their sauces, dishes and service are above and beyond expectation. Again, these folks really do it right. For so long my wife and I were disappointed with Chinese, Japanese and Thai restaurants available in our area. But no longer. We've found the most awesome place and wanted to share it with everyone else. Prices are more then reasonable. Variety is great. Beer and wine selection is well stocked. I love the coconut chicken while my wife enjoys the honey shrimp. We eat out all the time so when I write that this is a place you must try, I am writing the truth. I have to say that the Mongolian beef was by far the worst I have ever had! Nearly no meat & there was something wrong w the sauce - just disgusting... It upset our stomachs so much no one could eat it. Sesame chicken was not much better. Miso soup tasted odd... Lettuce wraps were a joke - not sure what that was... Looked like cat food. Two pieces of lettuce - that's it! Overall a total waste of $40. I will never go there again!!! The thought makes me nauseous & I don't think I will have a craving for Chinese for a VERY long time. Food: !st time ordering here tonight. I got the Happy Family with brown rice, Egg Drop Soup, and Sweet Tea. My rice had a burnt taste and my tea tasted like water and wasn't sweet at all. I enjoyed my egg drop soup. The happy family meal overall was alright (minus the rice) Service: I ordered online delivery and it took them 30min. (Pretty Good) The delivery person forgot I paid online but he wasn't rude about it. When the food arrived it was still pretty warm. Contents hadn't spilled or wasted during the drive over. :-) Eating utensils were missing so I had to improvise. Delivery requires you pay a tip (np) and you have to order at least $15 worth of food. I won't be doing delivery anymore unless I'm ordering for more than just myself. I will however make a visit to dine in and try a different selection of foods before I add them to the "Never Return Here" list. read more

I should've known right off the bat that any restaurant with such an extensive menu of different cuisines was going to disappoint me, but I suppose everyone deserves a chance. Frankly, this was the one of the worst experiences I've ever encountered with Asian cuisine in general. I feel I could've went to the store and purchase a frozen or Annie Chun Pad Thai that was more flavorful. As for the Chinese food, my boyfriend got a general tso's chicken that was just a bowl of gross sauce, the wonton soup was clearly just canned chicken stock with frozen wonton dumplings dropped in, and the over priced egg rolls were the size of my pinky. read more

It was the best decision ever! The man at the front was super nice, it was 8:52 and they close at 9:00 yet he told me he could still cook for me! I ordered the chicken curry (which was definitely one of the best) way better than the others I have had around here! I also ordered a thai tea which was great! Excellent choice for our needs. We live within five miles of Mei-Wei restaurant which is in the same shopping centre of Wal-Mart. We've eaten here several times and find the service excellent and reliable; it's clean with a quiet atmosphere. We order from their lunch menu and have never been disappointed I wish their Thai food was more authentic so I could give them a five rating. Price is right - in fact, below what I would expect to pay for same quantity, quality and quiet atmosphere. A quiet restaurant is rare. read more

I had lunch at Mei Wei. A traditional Thai spicy dish (also noted on menu as spicy). The dish came out with absolutely no spice, very bland. I drenched it in soy sauce and finished my meal. When the waitress brought my ticket I mentioned to her "tell your cook he left out the spicey". She fussed with me that it was perfect, I let her know I eat this dish frequently. After more arguing with me she said "I'll fix you a new dish", I let her know that I had just finished and wasn't interested. She says "Next time look for me and I will give you the dish with spices" I said that wasn't necessary but thank you I'll do that. A week or so later I am headed home with my son. My wife and said for me to pick up something to eat for myself. I asked to call Mei Wei and order my dish (hoping the lady manager would be present). Luckily she was working and remembered me. I mentioned to the cashier that my bill was free, the lady looks up and says..."no,no,no you get lunch not dinner portion. I said you get lunch only" Of course she didn't say that but it wasn't worth arguing the point in from of my young sensitive son and several pickup to go customers. As I waited for my to go bag, I asked the cashier the money difference in the lunch and dinner, it was $1.40. This lady manager had made a big hoopla over $1.40??!! Heck, I'd tipped her $3 for the lunch!! Does she really think I would come back to this establishment for a free lunch?? I don't frequent restaurants where the employees fuss at you in front of your son and other customers. I never asked for the free dish. I only had my wife call in the to go order to receive the offered dish. I should have followed my instincts after the lunch and not returned. So beware. read more
