I'm very glad for Meijer being near us, and wish they would open a location in Cheboygan also! Their food and majority of items are always consistent quality vs Walmart and its continuous overseas items they sell. They have way more organic available, and the fresh fish counter is a huge bonus, with local whitefish, walleye and other locally caught items. They also sell ground Venison and Elk regularly...SOLD!! This company is a Michigan based business and Im all about supporting local places versus big box stores when available. With hopes they expand further --after arguing with the city of Cheboygan to pay THEIR OWN utility upgrades-- we will continue to shop here weekly vs Walmart. read more

Terrible management!! Had my 8 lb poodle in hand, dropped my keys and shut mt car door! Keys locked. Temp 30s. No bench outside to call for help. Went inside door to sit inside to call for help. Was approaches by 4 employees and told to leave store even when told my problem, didnt care LEAVE! MY DOG IN LEASE NEXT TO ME IN CART. DISABLED WOMAN!!! Tuesday, February 24 at 3 PM. I had to unfortunately deal with another two of your horrible employees. Mia c and angel both two white older women with horrible attitudes, talking crap about customers right in front of them. One rushed up to me so fast. I hadn't even fully pushed my car up to my checkout and she was grabbing things in my cart trying to scan them I told her to stop and that I am a grown adult and fully able to cash out my own groceries and she laughed at me and continued to talk shit to her coworker Angel right in front of me as a CEO and business owner myself. Just moved here two weeks ago and have used their pickup order service several times. EVERYTIME we've gotten our fruits and vegetables they have had mold growing on them or about to spoil. From fruit trays and veggie trays to fruit/veggies picked by their staff. Food is at an all time high and we've wasted several hundred dollars in wasted fruits/veggies for our family. Late in the evening, almost 3 weeks ago, I used the west end men's restroom at this Meijer's and found it trashed with the toilet seat destroyed, laying on the floor and it's bolts scattered on the floor as well. Feces and used toilet paper were laying on the floor, laying across the toilet and feces wiped around as well. I immediately notified the greeter nearby to notify the management, and he said they've known about it for a couple weeks now and haven't done anything about it. I mentioned that it's a health hazard and the stall should be locked or secured in some way until repairs are made. The greeter directed me to to east entrance where the bathroom is located. I told him the electric sliding doors were deactivated. He told me that they were turned off but not locked on the inside and to just push them apart to access the restroom down at the east end. I did so. Twice, a week apart since then, I've returned to the same store and found the same restroom toilet seat in attached but, at least somewhat sanitary. However, the right hand sink still is leaking and draining into the floor drain just inside the toilet stall. What on earth is going on with management at this Meijer's location?!! They carry toilet seats in the store. What's so hard about grabbing one and installing it. It doesn't take too many brain cells to do a simple install!! Maybe Meijer's corporate needs to take a look at this location. SMH... read more

I really don't like the way people park at this store. It seems like they can't see the lines and are all over the place. That aside, there is a lot of parking and it's convenient. This store is easy to drive in and out of from Grand River or Wixom road, and close to the highway. They have a good amount of stock and the produce is fresh. It's busy here, and they keep it clean and bright. Some of the customers are kind of sketchy here depending on the time of day you come here, so I try not to be here later at night. It's still better than the Walmart shoppers though. In a pinch, it's nice they are open 24 hours. read more

So this is my neighborhood Meijer, so I can't complain about this place too much. It seems like they are cutting back on there greeters. They really don't have them anymore as you walk in. Which depresses me because I like the old 'Welcome to Meijer' phrase. This Meijer is always busy, which I like in a grocery store. Means there products are being over turned often. I love this Meijer! I've been going here my whole life, and so has my family. We've never had a bad experience, and most staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. Their bakery is pretty good (and they make fresh bread, donuts/bagels, and desserts daily), they have an EXCELLENT wine and liquor selection, and they always have just what I'm looking for (plus many versions of what I want so I have plenty of choice in all departments)! Pricing is pretty similar to other stores nearby such as Walmart and Kroger, and I think it's less expensive than the nearby Target. They also have an order ahead and pick up curbside service if you're busy, and several 15 minute "quick trip" parking spots right near the entrances that I frequently use if I just need to run in for one or two items. I've got nothing negative to say!! Check out the clearance food area near the bottle return for some extra good deals on food items, and the ends of aisles in other departments for clearance non-food items. read more

On December 7th, 2021, my mother and I went to the Wixom Meijer to receive our Moderna COVID Boosters. My mother's scheduled time was 11:30, mine was 11:40. We got in line to check in for our Covid Boosters. Right before I was called for my shot (even though my mother was scheduled to go before me), an elderly lady asked my mother if we were waiting to get our COVID Boosters. My mother said yes but wasn't sure if the Pharmacy was going by appointment time or check-in time. The employee who was about to give me my COVID Booster, a black lady in her 20's, eavesdropped on my mother's conversation to try and prove that she was going in the right order. My mother tried to explain to the employee that she was not accusing her of not going in the right order. The employee remained argumentative and defensive with my mother, to the point of throwing verbal attacks and yelling. I asked the employee to stop being rude, she then phoned her coworker to fill in for her. She recorded the booster on my vaccination card, even though she had not administered the shot. We told the coworker, a white guy in his 20's or 30's, what happened and he sarcastically laughed as if he didn't believe us. Then he said, "I apologize for my coworker's behavior, BUT, she was probably under stress." Then he administered our Boosters. What offended me more than the female employee's behavior was that her male coworker both tried to justify her nasty behavior and blamed us for it. After over eight years of using this Pharmacy, my mother has already begun transferring all of her prescriptions elsewhere. I will never go to the Wixom Meijer ever again. read more

This is my weekly go-to location for grocery/health shopping. The store is generally clean, the staff is friendly. There is ample parking and it is usually easy to find a spot. The health & beauty section is well-stocked and even through COVID, I was always able to find necessary items. The produce is always fresh. The bakery has many options for a quick dessert/snack or breakfast need. This particular location is a bit outdated compared to other Meijer locations in the area and would probably benefit from a fresher look. The pharmacy staff are not the friendliest. There are never, ever enough cashiers and the self-scan is constantly causing issues that require an attendant, who is always busy helping other self-scanners with their issues too. Overall, the quality and price of product along with my flexible availability to go earlier in the day to avoid long lines makes this my staple store. read more

Unfortunately, I've never had a good experience here. I once had a 30 minute endeavor just to try and get a second receipt for the self scan, at the end of which I was told I "just can't." I recently purchased a Schwinn bike from here that was poorly built, causing both tubes to pop on only its second ride. When I took the bike in for repair, a third tube popped on the repairman, and I was simply told that the rims and tires were no good. Poor merchandise. Poor service. This is my local Meijer, and I think its the best in the area. Its relatively new, built 7-8 years ago. Its a good size, bigger than most but I don't think its the largest in the chain. The biggest attraction for me with this store is it cleaner than the other local Meijer locations. Its actually a little farther for me than the Commerce Township location, but we prefer to go to this store instead. It has all the normal Meijer departments. The bottle return is near the back. And I like the grocery aisle lay out. They do have a gas station on property, and an easy access entry from Wixom road. read more

Always been a Meijer shopper and still is my primary grocery store, but after moving from Northville to Wixom, the Wixom store is closest, so naturally, that's where we go. I swear, EVERY TIME I go there, they're always out of a few things I'm looking for. And these are not hard to get items, it's usually common stuff they should have plenty of. Now I will say , we usually shop on the weekends and they're obviously more busy, but I don't think that's an excuse. They buy stock without caring if they run out. I've been shopping at the Meijer in Wixom since it opened. In the beginning, it was a great store with anything you could imagine needing being readily available. However, over the past year it has gone downhill significantly. The shelves are often half bare, and sale items are gone soon after a sale begins. I have spoken to management in the store about these issues, and feel like I'm given a pat answer. I've voiced my concerns about the empty shelves, and they tell me it's because they have good sales. They may have good sales, but they should make sure they have enough in stock to cover those sales. When I call to reach the general manager because I was getting nowhere, I'm always told that I will get a call back. I never have, and the store continues to get worse. Another major issue is the lack of cleanliness. This fact was really driven home for me recently when I went to the Meijer in Northville. That store was bright, open, clean, organized, and well stocked! I could not believe the contrast between stores. It really put it into perspective for me and helped me realize that what I was seeing at the Wixom store was actually happening, not just my imagination. A total slide in store quality has happened in Wixom. They need a complete overhaul and a totally new management from the top down. Kroger is looking better and better to me! read more

I went to Meijers in Wixom on Friday evening (5 pm) 5/22 for the first time since quarantine was imposed in March. I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK. When I walked in the front door, 3 staff were standing around the front podium chatting and only 2 of them had masks on. The third person was an older man who had just brought a group of carts in from outside. He was not wearing a mask. There was no social distancing going on. When the carts were brought in they were simply shoved in with all the other carts. No disinfecting or wiping down took place until I asked that it be done. Very little effort was put forth. My cart was given a couple of haphazard squirts. I only stayed because I did have a mask and gloves on, but I only did a quick amount (about half) of my shopping and then left. While in the store I saw at least 6 shoppers that had no mask on. When I got home, I called and spoke to Customer Service and then asked to speak to the Manger on duty. I got several excuses and that wasa about it. This Meijers is careless. I will not be going back. read more

I have often had to have prescriptions filled at this pharmacy because of convenience. I must say every time I drop off a prescription it always a problem with them. This last time was the worst. They were not very helpful and they had an extremely bad attitude when I did ask them to help. If you do not like your job you should not be working with the public. The Meijer in Royal Oak filled my prescriptions since they share the parking lot with my doctor. However, they missed one. Came to this location because I live closer and while they didn't give me a hard time about circling the mistake (they had to call the other store, reverse the billing, and so on), I had to wait another half hour for them to fill it. I'm normally patient but it was for a z-pack... When you're sick as a dog, you don't want to wait when you already waited 45 minutes at the other location. read more

I have lived in this area since 2000, when this Meijer was the only show in town. I am happy to say that I go there now because I love it. Since they did the remodel last year, the store is brighter and full of many more items than in the past. Wide selection of many ethnic foods, excellent selection of basic and bizarre produce - and it is ALWAYS fresh. The savings I get with Mperks is great too. I find the staff to always be friendly and helpful. Love this place. read more

I used to be a Meijer customer, but no more. Meijer has gotten so expensive on many, many of their items, the store isn't always very clean and the service, well, you can see the employees are not enjoying their jobs. I also quit Meijer because of the digital coupons. My phone can't get them, so when I asked the clerk if she could give me the discount price, she said "no, upper mgmt. doesn't allow it." Kroger readily gives it to all their customers and their prices are much better as well. Also when they have a sale, they have enough of the items on sale for the entire week, can't say the same about Meijer. Poorly run store..... read more

First time coming here in a while and the strawberries had mold and bruises all over them, couldn't find one package that was edible/worth my money. The person behind the counter at the seafood/meat counter was very strange in the way he approached me. Store was packed with older customers, could've been the time I stopped in which was the middle of the day. Their isles are very spacious but everyone seemed to leave their cart on one side of the isle and then step back to look at the product, making it very hard to walk down isles I need to. Beyond the fact that the customers who shop here are inconsiderate of others around them, and a few strange employee encounters, the parking lot is huge and cars were flying through parking spaces instead of using the lanes. Very dangerous, a car almost hit me while I was leaving. Will not be returning. read more

This review is for the whole Meijer Wixom store not just the pharmacy. Ok so I've been to several other Meijer's in Oakland Co. and this one SUCKS. I only continue to go here bc it's the closest store to me. The only nice thing about it is that there are a lot of nice people that work here (but there are also a lot of lazy ppl that don't even know where things are located). A lot of employees even leave their big carts they use to stock just in the middle of the aisle and/or blocking products you need to get off the shelf. The entire store is dirty; restrooms are filthy, smelly, out of toilet paper etc. The shelves in a lot of the aisles are also filthy, with stuff spilled on them and look rusty. A lot of the products even have dried stuff spilled on them and they just leave them there for you to buy, sticky and all. Some of the freezers are too cold and majorly freezer burn things; want a certain ice cream? Well it is literally covered in ice crystals. The dairy coolers don't work properly either, the lights for them are often out. A lot of the produce is ready to expire, if not already going bad. I've seen packs of strawberries with furry mold inside, avocados so soft they're ready to splat, I bought a bag of potatoes recently and 2 days later they were rotting with bugs flying around them. Most of the Dole salads are iceberg and yellowy or the greens are going bad. I miss the nice produce at the Troy/RO Coolidge location. I wouldn't dare buy any fish or meat products here; the whole meat area smells horrid and the aisles across from the seafood smell like rotting fish and sh*t. I know someone who bought "fresh" meat a few times here and it was all nasty. The garden section pulls me in every time, but many of their plants are infected/being eaten by bugs and have nasty leaves. Most plants I've gotten from there died shortly. The bouquets inside are way overpriced, most are cheap looking dyed carnations but are still priced at least $14. The clothes are overpriced for how cheaply made there are. Besides the kids stuff, most adult clothes are around $22 a piece. And many shirts I look at have loose threads and they're not even marked down for it. I heard the employees saying ppl take the crotch stickers out of bathing suits and just stick them on them on the walls of the dressing room, and someone bought an adhesive bra and returned it, but the employees just put it back in a package to sell. This review is about the whole store, not just pharmacy,as I have not used pharmacy except occasionally which I have no complaints about, very helpful people working here and in the whole store.This, in my opinion is the best Meijer in the area,big store, easy parking, usually have everything you want and more.I prefer this store over all others as the Northville store is closer to me, but 8 mile road will destroy your car and the store in Northville is always always very busy and crowded, except after 1 am.The checkouts at Wixom are not a problem, where as in Northville store there is always always a line and checkout is slow, even after 1 am.The nursery, plant section of this store is slightly better than may be expected,but, as with all Meijer stores, it closes too early and after dark or 8 or 9 pm forget it,you can't get out to buy plants and nursey items.My only small complaint about this store, and all meijer stores is I think the selection and pricing on clothes sold here could be improved for the customer.The food is all good and prices are not a problem or complaint, and,most likely they will have what you want here.Good management and very helpful and friendly employees.My top choice for a Meijer store. A update to this store as of February,shows that this store has serios problems with meat counter help, and stock that it doesn't have, also some employees are not worth asking help for and some are even rude. The can return machines are a big problem at this store, and the return room for cans is quite filthy and smelly much of the time.They have had a new management team here for quite awhile now, and it is terrible compared to the old team they used to have.I will be doing more Krogering and will downgrade this particular Meijer store. read more
