I like this place as it's one of the most authentic Thai restaurants in the area. I had the basil fried rice which was very delicious. Here's my only complaint they were going to charge my friend extra money for asking for a slice of lime. Very strange. I've been to a lot of Thai restaurants and limes are usually complementary. Great food though. Maybe BYOL (Bring Your Own Lime) 7/10 Lime Slices ‍

Wow wow WOW. Please just go to Titaya's for your Thai food cravings. We didn't have a reservation on a Friday and we were able to be seated right away. As a restaurant, they actually move so fast even though they always seem busy. Our server came to us immediately and got our drinks and order ready. When it comes to Thai food I don't even need to look on the menu lol Their Tom yum soup is amazing, perfectly hot and sour, and the beef pad see ew was flavorful with lots of tender meat and veggies. If it wasn't a little out of the way for me I would be there every weekend!

As one of the most established Thai establishments in Austin, Titaya's has been serving the community for close to 2 decades. They've won numerous awards from various publications as a local favorite and have been lauded for their take on traditional and fusion Thai dishes. My expectations for anything Asian in Austin have always been a notch lower than most cities, but Titaya's surprised my group of dining companions and I in the best way. The atmosphere is a not exactly conducive to large groups, but given the darkly lit, intimate ambiance, I would give the nod to date and small groups. Parking isn't an issue but the weekend wait times are real. There is an upscale feel, but a casual vibe at the same time. Food wise, everything I managed to sample was on point. From standard dishes like pad kee mao, pad thai, and pad see yu to things like kau soi 360. or their fried polenta crab cakes. I thoroughly enjoyed the crispy chili wings as well as their flavorful massaman curry. The only thing that was off was the service. My group and I waited to be seated for close to an hour, only to wait a bit more to be served. I realize that it was a busy night but water refills were slow and even getting the bill was a bit of a chore. We had to flag down our server for all sorts of things, but having to do that meant it wasn't the most ideal of experiences. I still enjoyed myself and will find a reason to come back more often in the future. Titaya most certainly has found.a new fan in me.

The best local Thai spot! Love coming here - dining in is always a cozy and relaxing experience and the takeout is fast and convenient too! For dining in, the service is always nice and there's never too long of a wait. I love the decor and it's the perfect casual date spot. Takeout can be easily ordered online and you can go straight to the back for pickup. The food here is sooooo good! Everything is flavorful: - the tom yum soup has a great balance of acidity and spicy -the curries have a nice spice level and goes so well with rice -the pad see ew is probably the best I've had with such a good umami flavor and tons of protein and perfectly chewy noodles Portion sizes are great for the price, and we always leave here full and happy!

This is my third time coming here, and it's always a good sign when it is consistently busy! Sometimes there can be a short wait but it's never longer than 10 mins. You might have to watch closely how they seat folks - sometimes they seat people before you despite having the same party size; can be pretty chaos when it's busy. Food is quick and yummy! The pad thai and pineapple fried rice are both good. I would skip on the signature chicken wings (nothing really spectacular about them, but happy they came out hot and crispy). We were in and out of here within an hour.

Best Thai I've had in Austin. Easy parking, great ambiance (typically pretty crowded), and friendly service. Everything was delicious, but our favorite was the Kao Todd - sooo good!!

This is one of those places that is easy to miss but absolutely wonderful if you stop to eat here. We had a fantastic group lunch (9 people)! We shared satay gai, and then several dishes, like ta-lay dancing and pad kra prao. The service was great and everyone had a great meal. There is plenty of parking and a bus stop not too far away. I will definitely try to come back with friends and family.

Good Thai food, but when the place is packed, service can be super slow. I came on a Sunday evening around 7pm. We waited a bit for a table for 2, but not very long. There's a ton of parking all around and lots of seating inside. We ordered a green curry, Pad Ke Mao with chicken, and sticky mango rice. All of the dishes were pretty good! Not the best Thai, but incredible flavors all around. Also a good amount of spice. Service was slow, and you can tell everyone was running around. As the night got later, the restaurant was getting more and more packed. Overall, I think this is a great place for food, just expect a longer wait time.

Great Thai food, seems a little more authentic than some of the other places i've been to in Austin! Chicken pad thai: 5/5 good portion size, not too sweet Papaya salad: 4/5 Great flavor, a little skeptical because they didn't ask for spice level. However, the portion was tiny and cost $11?? Satay gai: 3/5 Just okay, you get 4 tiny sticks for $10. The peanut sauce on the side was most of the flavor Mango sticky rice: 5/5 The sticky rice was fresh and warm, and they used the soft mangos! Also did not skimp on the coconut milk

The restaurant itself is pretty spacious. The wait times are horrendous. We were told it would be a 20 minute wait but we ended waiting for almost an hour. Our table ordered Tom-Ka (chicken), Pad See Eiw (chicken), Pad Woon Sen (chicken), and Fried Tofu. All the main dishes were delicious, but the Fried Tofu left much to be desired. It had zero flavor. Even the sauce couldn't save it. One Pad See Eiw was supposed to have been mild and the other no spice and both turned out to be the same (no spice). The service was also just ok. They didn't check up on us for a while and also took a while to bring some items that were needed for our dinner. Please note that they don't split checks (they'll allow you to pay using multiple credit cards). They also don't take American Express.

Best Thai restaurant in town! I always order the pad see ew and tom kha gai, and they're consistently solid. The pad see ew and pad Thai are always flavored right. Not overly sweet, not too salty, just balanced and really satisfying. The noodles are never squishy, which I appreciate more than I should. Quality is always on point and consistent, which is why I keep coming back. Also, if you haven't tried their tom kha gai yet, you're missing out. The lemongrass coconut soup is so good and super comforting. This is one of those places where you know exactly what you're getting, and that's a good thing. And despite the environment being packed during busy hours, it always feels so welcoming.

I'm a regular here and usually enjoy this place, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I decided to try a new menu item, the Fisherman's Soup, and unfortunately it was one of the worst soups I've had. The server mentioned it was spicy, but said it wasn't that bad and that it was good. In reality, it was extremely spicy to the point where it was unpleasant, and it didn't seem to have much flavor besides the overwhelming spice. What made it worse was the portion and quality for the price. The soup about $20 and had barely any ingredients -- about 5 pieces of shrimp, 2 mussels, and 2 small pieces of fish that didn't taste very fresh. Rice is also extra. I was with a group of 8 people and everyone tried it out of curiosity, and we were all surprised by how intense and unbalanced the soup was. What also disappointed me was the service. When my friend politely mentioned that the soup was too spicy for me, the response from the server was simply "I said that." There was no effort to suggest a solution or help in any way. The attitude came across as dismissive, which made the situation worse. I've liked this restaurant in the past, so this was unfortunate. Just a heads up to others: if you're sensitive to spice, you may want to avoid the Fisherman's Soup.

The dishes here are pretty solid and there are a good variety of choices on the menu. On Sundays they only open starting at noon, but it's very popular and parking can be difficult to find even though there's a shared lot. I got the Tom Yum rice which I liked. Portions for the dishes are a medium-ish size, not the largest portions I've seen at a Thai restaurant and the prices are on the higher side.

What is the crowd/wait like? Back before the pandemic they were jammed with our plus waits.

We waited about 20 minutes on a Saturday night. It was busy inside but everything was organized and ran efficiently.

    yes

Can you bring your own beer?

That was already a letdown. What really did it for us, though, was finding a plastic to-go cup lid inside one of our drink glasses. It was buried in there, and completely threw us off. At that point, we were just done. It's a bummer because we've liked this place for a long time, but between the smaller portions and that experience, we won't be coming back.

My first few bites were a little underwhelming because it tasted slightly fishy and the flavors didn't seem to come together. After giving the box a really good shake, though, everything mixed properly and it tasted much better. I ordered a spice level 2, and wow, it was actually pretty spicy. I usually add extra chili sauce to my Pad Thai, but this time I didn't need to. If you're sensitive to heat, I probably wouldn't go any higher than a level 2. The peanuts added a nice crunch, and I highly recommend asking for extra lime. I felt like the dish could have used a little more acidity to balance everything out. While the slight fishiness wasn't my favorite, the overall flavor was good, and it's definitely one of the better Pad Thai options I've found in Austin so far. Not the best Pad Thai I've ever had, but one I'd happily order again when the craving hits.
